Sorry, somehow i posted here instead of build thread.
-
Step 15 parts BB26 and BB27 have a flat groove out of the center, not shown on the manual.
-
Lets review step 13 and 14. Watch out as the illustration doesn’t help u. It’s a little sketchy.tip, slide Bb24 through L6 into the BB14 washer. It will come together. Also. BB15 is a alum blue lock nut. Don’t do what I did and search for 20 min for a chrome one.
-
so step 11. watch for the grub screws. i was sitting here wondering why i have 2 grub screws. well, i missed them.
-
Step 12. No major things. The J4 piece is a stabilizer so roll it forward and u will see where it goes. I did go back and pull J1 off and replace with hop up 54243 alum suspension mount.
-
Step 11. Again. More strait forward building. The vodka and unsweetened iced tea helps at this point.
-
Step 10. Just remember the turnbuckles are normal thread on one side opposite on the other. Don’t twist and twist. Just twist the other way. Used hop up parts 53943/ hard turnbuckle dhafts. And 54257 5mm reinforced adjusters.
-
@J@mes Cool, Im sorta doing a box build with pick and choose hop ups.
-
Also as a side note, do not drop BB10 screw on the floor if u have carpet. Just a PSA Im also skipping the 84126 titanium scres again as im not sure if i will want them later.
-
Just sorta cruising through while running back and forth to the garage. strait building so far as step 9. I did omit hopup parts 53709/fluorine suspension balls as well as 53642/5mm aluminum ball connectors(blue) as im not sure weather i want to save them for another build where the blue will be all around.
-
@Rb4276 Which part are you refering to?
-
4. Added the slippler clutch. 54260.
-
Step three. I am using hopup part 54276.
-
Step two. Simple. Just I used fast eddies 1050s instead of the kit ball bearings.
-
Step one. Watch the BA19 balls as they are so small that they fall out. I used grease and a toothpick to “stick” them into place. U can see the ball fell through the assembly

Never did a thread. Thought I would try to do this. I haven’t seen a DN-01 build thread and I’m not sure if I will do it justice. But I’m gonna give it a shot.

@lucasan dude. I hear ya. I always try for perfect but it’s like pulling weeds man, there’s always one more. Know when to walk away. Haha
-
So I LOVE the DN-01. It’s a tough argument. But. I’m building mine and am gonna love all of it. Yes. I wish I could grab a 201 or even more would love a 511. But this is making me happy. Can’t wait to throw this thing in the sandpits and see what she will do. NOT DOING BOX ART. Haha.

Just finished up my brat, but have an extra shaft in the kit. MR7. Did i miss someting?

@lucasan So heres the deal, used krylon to to the detail work. Isnt perfect at all. I think testors or a bottle paint would be way better. as i had to spray paint into a cup to brush alot of things. Of course this will vary by model. If its just a line or a stripe then the krylon is fine if you MASK ABSOLUTLY PERFECT!!!! I had alot of bleed and went 320, 1500, 2000 grit sandpaper to fix. Will say the quality of a paint job has to also be what you want the car to do. If youre gonna bash it then a 90% job is pretty okay. I learned alot doing this one. Havent done a hard body in 30 years. so next one will be better. GO SLOW DONT OVER PAINT>

I spent all day, starting at 1:00pm est till now 12:15am on this. I think it’s good not perfect by any means. I learned a lot in hindsite. Not happy with the clear coat as it’s a bit rough looking. But it was fun and I will do better next time.
