  1. @RoosterRC Thanks alot
  2. @simalarion big thanks. Not done yet. I’m moving slow with it. Plenty to do still
  3. Lots of little details need to addressed still. I cut out the white from the sticker sheet and used only the black molding for the front side windows to test the look. I need to pick up black pinstripe tape and redo. But most decals are affixed.
  4. A bit of paint clean up to do. Couldn’t resist doing the emblem to see if I was crazy to make the reliefs red. I like it. Need to play with the stickers to see what I will omit or use
  5. what kit are you buying tires for? Grasshopper and top force are diffent wheel sizes
  6. So it sounds like you will need to pick up wheels to fit the tires. You will need 2.2 wheels. However the tires dont have a hex, the wheels do. Glue (CA GLUE) keeps the tires on the wheel.
  7. use it in good fun and dont try to tune a toy rc. quite a few tamiya kits at 90-115 bucks.
  8. gotta know what the model kit is
  9. Well I’d say just check what pinion is in there. Tooth count will def make a difference. Fully charged battery? End points on throttle?
  10. Well that was fun.
  11. If it was a shelfer did u check to make sure all the gears were lubed properly? Bearings?
  12. https://www.duratrax.com/tires/1-10buggy.html fronts ant rears are out there. need wheels
  13. Just thought I would throw this out there in case anybody could use the info. I painted a shell tonight, Hated the outcome. Then stripped 2/3 of the shell using the tamiya Cleaner. Its absolutely amazing. For $10 it should be in everyones box of stuff. I took 3 layers of blue and a backing coat off Using paper towel squares i ripped up and only used A 16th of the bottle. Down to clear lexan. Highly recommend
  14. TT02B is a fine dirt buggy. Affordable and fixable, I have one and its still running great after 7 years. DB01 is gonna run ya 300 plus your prob gonna upgrade a couple parts so add that in, DF01 is great particularly Top Force but prices are way up, I have one built one NIB. DB02 will cost you an arm and a leg if u can find one but many have issues with the drive design But, i have one NIB waiting to build until i have collected hopups i want only a couple more to go. But they did reissue the TF EVO. Gonna be cheaper than a 2017 TF. All that being said, I agree with the premise of your post, not alot of buggies to choose from at the moment. @BlockPattern
  15. hobby knife and a beer
  16. i admit to keeping boxes. that includes motor and esc boxes, parts boxes. i even keep the tags from the tires or hopups in the box of the car they are installed on. its a good way to know part numbers.
  17. Id really enjoy the kit but im done overpaying for kits. Scorcher is an icon of Tamiya. and absolutely a "must" have. just having trouble lately justifying what i personally feel is just a bit more than what i get in return. However. I still want one.
  18. Allof the parameters seem to be correct. This is one of those things. I dont spend money on servos. Ive only used futaba 3004/3003 since the 80s. However im now wondering if i need to move to a higher end or more quality servo. I just have a thinf about spending money on servos. Why? I have no idea.
  19. Exciting to go outside the box. Got this Corally SBX-410 together. Doing the adjustments now and going to decide on a paint scheme. I did take pics along the way so maybe I’ll throw them on the build thread just to let others see the basic build. Currently 5200kv little bit of low speed stuttering between the esc and the motor. Sensorless as of now but I’ve grabbed a sensored motor and esc already for my birthday next week. Always fun to buy your own gifts from the kids and hand them to your wife.
  20. nice, I like that color choice on the Hopper.
  21. Antone happen to have a clean set of these? they are dicontinued . I had a ine on them yesterday but the hobby shop (online) emailed me that they dont have them. I have the Louise set, ORBIT, I just want to match duratrax with duratrax rear tires. A little ocd but
