@Willy iine I defiantly need to construct an indoor paint booth for this North East weather. Im up to 4 chassis not painted and its only January.

im stating a rally bug (mf01x) actually now, I have a m05ra as well. I think the wheels and tires are small also.

Well, 99 percent of the shell is striped off. Yup its quite yellowed. As i was removing the paint i did realize that the shell is also quite brittle. I only paid a total of 20 USD including shipping. So I cant be to worried about it.

@87lc2 interesting idea using a compound. i will try that as well.

@wtcc5 i am going to try to 'clean" it. I was planning to paint it box art but if i cant get the yellow cleaned up im going to have to figure out a color that wont be obviously affected by the yellowing. Im not sure if silver will work.

Hey everyone. I luckily stumbled upon a KEEN HAWK body on the bay as i wanted one for an accidental bay auction win for a second DF03. I missed the boat on the KEEN HAWK and have liked the shell style but never grabbed one. As a result of unexpectedly having another DF03 I went looking for a KH body. Found one and it was painted but not in box art. As it was the only one avail, i purchased it as soon as i saw it. It arrived today and i quickly started removing the paint. As the paint was coming off I noticed a yellowish hue through the lexan. The paint is coming off perfectly but the shell is stained if you will.
I was wondering if anybody has experienced this or better yet has a thought on cleaning this yellow off.
Additionally. There are areas where the yellowing is not present. A couple of areas have small rectangular clear areas as if at one time there was a sticker there. another area is not a shape but an area that is far more clear.

I was able to expand my Work from Home/hobby spot a bit over Christmas break. Rearranged things in the craft/storage room for more desk/tabletop space. This room is attached to the garage, which is attached to the house, so it only gets a little heat. It splits the temperature between the house & outside. So right now with freezing temperatures outside, it is roughly 50F/10C in there. Not quite warm enough to really sit at a desk. I'll have to work on that.
try an oil filled electric radiator. Works wonders in my garage over winter here. Will keep garage between 60-70 degrees.

wow. I went through the pics. this is pretty amazing. if anything it goes to show that things are absolutely still out there. however it does unfortunately bring up the point about hoarders. There is alot of stock there that is seriously in demand. I have to assume this is a private collector. Boxes and boxes of sealed kits. WHY??
I think this thread is going to be popular. The spares are impressive and i can read alot of the part numbers. Just a wow situation

3004s are decent. for the price i cant beat them. i have many installed in my cars. you will be fine. @Rally!

@DeadMeat666 taking a break or having ups and downs is perfectly normal. Take a break, live your life. I noticed you werent around.
I use 15 quart plastic storage bins to keep the cars. fits most buggys.

My day unfortunately may be ending with me ruining a Grasshopper shell. After the initial Easy Off Oven spray overnight soak and roughly 55% of the ugly blue paint falling off I got a bit to ambitious and sprayed the shell with Graffiti Spray Remover. This turned the remaining ugly blue paint into a gelatinous sticky gooey mess. The sticky gooey mess is now covering the entire shell in and out like derivable lint brush. I decided to do another Oven Spray overnight and deal with the fallout in the morning.
Additionally over three weeks i've built four nib chassis and cut all the bodies, been way rainy here so no paint. I'm currently waiting on a second DT03 dark impact that i accidentally won on ebay, no really i swear. So hoping that gets here quickly.
Have been collecting paint and body tools for awhile now and finally started going through it all to see what else i would like to add to my persoal rc body shop.
I am fairly sure other than one option I have now assembled every avail hop up for my DB02 after the postman dropped me a small package the other day.
And i suppose finally I am planning to photo all my builds and add them to my showroom as i haven't kept up with it as i would have liked to.

id also assume u could quickly separate the parts. Since u didn't install the bearing its simply metal on metal. a solvent should get u up and going again quite easily. @cliffw0970

Iconic I’d prob say Hotshot. Most desired is a whole other thing, but perhaps 959.
