  1. Do you know which part of your electronics are playing up? Potentially it's worth removing all of the problematic parts and starting again? Keep it simple but enjoyable.
  2. You can unsolder the cable and replace it if you want a more flexible cable. Normally I directly solder the ESC to the motor.
  3. They stopped making new M05 kits at the end of last year. They should offer part support for the next few years. I'd be curious to know how much a new mould costs Tamiya as no doubt they do everything internally.
  4. It depends what you want to build, quite often with some Tamiyas it's pretty simple. You can order most of the bits from Plazajapan for a fraction of the UK price.
  5. No, I had a Google but couldn't see anything. I'd most certainly grab a few chassis if they did make a come back. A V2 chassis would be great with a square lipo cutout however I doubt we'd ever get that 😭
  6. Fingers crossed as you can still get pretty much all of the other parts due to the cross over between the M05 + MF-01X.
  7. It looks like we've got our answer ^^^
  8. How did you find Buyer? Was it cheaper to buy that M07 from Asia Vs the UK?
  9. I had planned to finish this as my running M03 however I've decided against that. It's 90% there however needs a bit of work to get it running. It needs a few parts however the chassis is fine. Parts needed - Drive shafts - 9805503 (19805503) about £8 from TTP Servo horn + steering links The wheels and tires are brand new, it has new ball bearings, metal servo mount and the chassis has been filled out to fit a square pack. Both the pinion gear cover and front camber links have been 3D printed. This chassis does also have the manter ray ball diff fitted. Price £80 posted, payment via PayPal. Please cover any fees, I've got three full pages of positive feedback on MSUK forum.
  10. I'm more worried about the material of the tip than how they look and feel.
  11. Wera Kraftform 2054 Micro Screwdriver - Hexagon Tip Sw 2.0 / 60 https://amzn.eu/d/elTcS8H
  12. I'm using the Wera micro range, they are a few quid from Amazon and very good. Personally I think the RC brands tool are massively over inflated when you compare them to what's used in most industries.
  13. Bambu labs is a great option, I came from a Creality ender and it's night and day as it just works ! Cheap 3D printers require a lot of tuning which isn't fun so I'd advoid these. I've got the A1 mini and it's literally just set-up and play. You can also buy their AMS to allow mulit colour printing. There's a discount code A1M-NY-10 which will drop 10% off. I wouldn't look elsewhere as the quality is amazing and it prints in about half of the time my ender did. You also get an app on your phone to control the printer and can watch a live feed. They also offer a larger printer the A1 which had been recalled due to a cable issue but is due to be released again very shortly. They handled the recall very well IMO and offered everyone a full refund
  14. That thread was very useful, thank you. To summarise, it's possible however there's a fair bit of outlay to achieve a good end product.
  15. Has anyone on here tried to vacuum form their own RC body? I was wondering if a casting could be taken of an original body (new and uncut) in order to create a replica. I had a friend do one for me years ago which turned out pretty good however I think they used the wrong material as it was extremely brittle and didn't last long.
  16. I heard a while ago that the old 3Racing shocks came out of the same factory as the Tamiya ones, i've got no idea how true this is. Normally the budget end shocks include a range of different mountings options to try and get around this issue.
  17. Most top end kits come with nice shocks these days, the associated and X-ray ones are also very nice.
  18. I'm still wondering why no one has made a casting of the original tamiya shell as the alternatives are just don't look right. If you plan to have a runner then I'd suggest maybe looking at a M05 as part support is still good and sadly M01 parts are very scarce now a days.
  19. You'll always struggle to fit a 140mm battery into a 210mm wheelbase and unless you go for a TL01 + MF01X layout which is a bit out dated now you have to go with this layout. The Durango Dex410 is a great example of keeping everything low. Larger wheels should fit onto the 225mm+ options or use wider hexs.
