  1. Just asking...is it the grub screw on the pinion gearing ?
  2. I didn't do anything constructive today,but I did do this😉
  3. It is what it is. Love it and really enjoy it for exactly that reason. It's simple, tough,a wee bit random, and bags of fun!
  4. Funny you say that,I'm bidding on a 70s 'Stang body as we speak😉
  5. Rebuilt a TL-01 with full ball bearings, and as a rear wheel drive only. I'm fighting with myself as to what body to fit to it. At the minute it's a toss up between a '70 Dodge Challenger, and a '65 Mustang Fastback or a'66 Mustang Notchback
  6. Here's my other layout, also in N. This is the B+DCR(Broke and done cheaply)
  7. Hi Coop, that's exactly right,I actually used the bodyposts as the retaining bolts. You may need to file out a grove in the beams for the bolt heads on the cross-members/shock mounts. The actual body mounts I used are leftovers from my Landfreeder CC01
  8. I've got a bit of a thing for n-scale micro layouts. this is Gordon's Folly,my watching tv,and still playing trains layout I'm in the proses of building a 009 loco at the moment...
  9. Fitted a new body to my Maverick Scout. I needed to build a chassis extension to fit the body mounts £3.85 at Homebase for two metres of 12mm angle plastic 👍 Came out ok I think😃
  10. Radshape do a nice set http://www.radshaperc.com/product/tamiya-cc-01-bumper-bull-bar-with-winch-plate-55328
  11. It's been ages since the Scout has had an outing.... So...
  12. JPS are ciggies? I always thought they were a tuning house for Lotus cars and Norton motorbike😇
  13. Well,we've done a bit of work since the last post. The steering mod I'd made had improved the turning circle, but introduced a glitch in centrering the steering after full lock to the right. I've cured that by fileing out 3mm from the servo mounting plate. I've fitted the wide track hop ups,and replaced the stock ESC/rx combo with a Flysky rx and the Maverick Scout ESC. I still working on a basic interior.
  14. Fitted the new axels and extended hubs to my FTX Treka after dinner tonight
  15. That TCS looks good. I hadn't realised that the Radshape chassis had come down in price. Certainly makes it a more attractive deal. I'm still pondering on getting their cc01 battery tray🤔
  16. There's a bunch of Ali parts for the steering, and the gubbens to increase the track. You can get them from CML direct or from Modelsport
  17. Wheelbase is 225mm,with 160mm track as standard. I fully agree about the 1060s. I'm running them in both my Maverick Brat and my Landfreeder👍
  18. Really nice looking build there mate👏
  19. Terz, yes,I have seen the CMX,(someone's doing one as their winter build) but all in your starting to get into Axial money. For £140,the Outback is way cheaper. I enjoyed your Scout thread. Are there any updates?
  20. Cheers mate! I fully agree about a CC02,but I do wonder if it might not be too much of a departure of philosophy for Tamiya? Would they do a scaled down CR01? There is one question about the Treka that I didn't cover... Is the Treka tough? I'd say yes. Being the idiot I am,I'd reversed the Treka clean off the edge of this culvert, trying to set the iPad up for a video. I'd had to wade in to recover it(there's a reason I wear wellies😉) The drop, and spending ten minutes underwater didn't hurt the Treka at all! Gotta be impressed aft
