  1. Thank you The first bit of good news for me is that the second screw showed its face,so the 380 has been remounted. I was pleasantly surprised by it, it had a bit more get up and go than I was expecting.
  2. My 'barn find' HB2010 arrived safely today. It's largely intact and functional, except I'm missing one of the motor mounting screws. Not a big deal(I hope),but here's the question...it'll be easy enough to drop a 540 motor straight in,but what are the pros and cons of the two motor types?
  3. Great thread! Loved reading this. Looks like you've some great trails to explore. Really impressed by its ability to climb!
  4. Just asking this out of curiosity. I need to take my cars down to the recreation grounds at the bottom of my road. Where do you guys and gals go driving?
  5. I don't suppose you've got a photo of the shock tower brace?
  6. Thank you all for the warm welcome everyone And the good advice Thanks to Nobbi1977 I've got a bunch of go faster goodies heading my way!
  7. Yeah, but it will have to wait til I get the Mad Bull and the Rising Fighter finished
  8. Well,I've won an auction on eBay for a HB2010,based on what I've read in this thread Here's hoping it'll be as good as the hype
  9. Magic! Thank you
  10. Nobbi,I'm down in London(note to self...edit profile) Yes,I've got ball bearings fitted. Thanks for the part number on the steel pinion. I've been looking to do that, but hadn't been sure what to look for. Am I right thinking that a sport tuned motor gives more rpm for better top end speed, where the torque tuned would give more grunt out of turns and for accelerating from slow speeds? Thanks for the heads up on the shocks...I'll toddle over and have a look
  11. Hi! I think I made a fatal mistake🤔 I decided to put my Rising Fighter back on the road after a number of years being laid up. Now I've had a Mad Bull mysteriously arrive off eBay too😱 I've been searching around the Internet for info on upgrading these cars, and a lot of the best links brought me here to TamiyaClub. Gotta say I was just as impressed with the friendly atmosphere as I was with the knowledge displayed! So,here's a gratuitous pic of my Mad Bull... Now,the questions I have, which I'm sure have been asked a thousand times before are: 1) Can you recommend a set of oil filled shocks? 2) can you recommend a mild motor upgrade? I'm also planning on modding my Rising Fighter to run on big wheels. Aside from changing the the front axels to Mad Bull ones, and butchering the the front bumper,is there anything else I should do? Is there another wheel set slightly smaller than the Mad Bull ones that will fit?
