  1. My (second) Bomber. Plenty cool in my book😉
  2. I did find a NIB one of eBay....only £700 plus postage!😂
  3. One that's too unafraid for its own good I'm afraid!
  4. I fitted 12mm hex adopters to my ORV Rat Rod over the weekend, and popped on a set of rims and knobbly tires from a DT02. I'd been curious if it'd cut the wheel spin I'd been getting on the grass section just up from my flat. I took it out a little while ago for a test run,and low and behold, the fox who'd been running along with my TL01 showed up again. Is it bad that it was fun playing with the car and the fox,and more importantly, does this mean I need to get a Fox?
  5. And then again, maybe not! How strange!
  6. Sorry to disappoint you mate, there's an open door(and ladder) on the other side😉 Entirely mundane
  7. Seen this at London Waterloo station this morning
  8. Succeeded in having a bash with the TL01, my Mad Bull and the Beemer Rat rod today. Left me with a big smile on my face, but slightly disturbed that the oldest, and most primitive design gave me the most enjoyment. There's something about the ORV chassis that I find deeply pleasing!
  9. Well, just fitted the 23t pinion, and headed out for a late night test run. Had to curtail the test after ten minutes. One of the local urban foxes took a big time interest in the TL01. It was running along with it(not chasing it). Parked the car three or four feet from me,and up comes the little guy! I was worried he'd bolt into the road without looking for a 1/1 car,so in I came. The little followed me right down to the door!
  10. Oh,and I've a set of NASCAR type decals to add some war paint
  11. The start point was to fit it with a Sport Tune motor(got one cheap from the LHS),install a TBLE-02 speed controller, and whack in a Flysky 2.4ghz rx. The first test run was on touring car rims. Loved the turnablity of it,but felt a bit underwhelmed by the performance. After a break for lunch,I fitted the old rims from my Landfreeder....boy what an improvement! It fairly flew! The problem was I started getting cut outs due to an 'overload warning'. I swapped out the ESC for an older unit, duplicating what I have in my Mad Bull. Problem solved! A bit of bodging, and the original body from my FTX Spyder found a new home I've ordered up a 23t pinion, which hopefully will stop the over reving, and a full set of bearings are on there way.
  12. Well here's were the project starts... The build quality was actually rather good, the diffs were nice and smooth. The tires are knackered though, and although it came with a Baja Champ shell,I'd no intention on using it...just don't like it.
  13. Cheers mate👍
  14. Been another satisfying RC day😃 Took the TL-01 down to the Hogsmill for a bash Fitted a set of LED spotlights to the Maverick Scout, which I'm waiting for dark to go and test, and I still need to take the Rat Rod out to 'check' the receiver is working properly😉
  15. Cheers Crash👍 Not knowing how to use the showroom would explain that😉 There will be a thread dedicated to the TL-01 soon 👍
  16. Having done a lot of slot racing, your bang on the money there. It's one of the reasons that Scalextric type hard body cars are so wide spread in the UK,and Spain. I've done races with 35 or 40 year old Scalextric Ferrari GP cars, just for the pleasure of seeing the classic car at speed. On a not unrelated note, having played with actual wing sections on slot cars(it ended up looking very Chapperal like) I'd have to query just how much down force such small airfoil sections can actually generate at the speeds involved?
  17. Following avidly! 👏
  18. Today was my first 'Tamiya' day in what feels like ages! Started off by binding two new receivers to my 2.4ghz radio, one for the Beemer rat rod,the other to go into the eBay TL-01. Funny how no set of binding instructions actually match what happens🤔 After er that it was onto the TL-01. It came without a motor,so I picked up a Sport Tune from the old LHS. The MSC came out,the plan being to use the TBLE-02 that was initially in my Landfreeder. Installation went well enough, the buggy wheels came off(perished tires) and a set of touring car rims went on. First test run went well,if a bit underwhelmed by the performance . A change to the Landfreeder rims with 96mm tires really brought it to life, but after three minutes of running, the car stopped dead. The ESC was showing Overload protection cutout. This continued happening. Still can't figure it out😱My Mad Bull runs a Sport Tune without issue! I swapped out the TBKE for a TBU type like I have in the Mad Bull. Success! Run two batteries through it without any issues. I've bodged the original body from my FTX Spyder onto it...😈😈😈 Yes,well pleased so far!
  19. Cheers guys,so lots and lots of options then? 🤔 @svenb: cheers mate, when the car arrives,I'll get back to you👍
  20. It looks like I've won a TL01 on evilbay. So,any good? Aside from upgrading to ball bearings, any upgrades I should look at? Are they used only for buggies,or for road cars too? Any photos to inspire me?
  21. Look forward to seeing it👍
  22. That's a lovely shell mate! It's what I used(abused?) for my Brat based Rat Rod
  23. Hi and welcome! Great first post👍 That 'Hopper looks gorgeous!
