  1. It's a great answer, and no help what so ever😜 Its a case of looks good or works good? The upgrades I've done to my 'Freeder have massively improved its ability, but from what I've seen of competition scaling you have no choice but spend the money on the Axials etc. - Todays adventure ended early, after I burnt out the steering servo. It's a shame, because it was riding the flinty trails around Mickleham well!
  2. Famous last words 😤 Took the 'Freeder down to Mickleham today, planning to do a loop up Stane St to Mickleham Downs and back to the pub. Burnt out the steering servo on the climb up to the Downs😪
  3. So here's the million dollar question: just how much better are the Axials and Vaterras?
  4. Not the deep waters of the Hogsmill, but paddling in Tolworth Brook
  5. Fantastic job mate,well done!
  6. Finally got the ali steering kit to do my biding. It's nice to have the improved steering throw, and no slop😊
  7. Took the 'Freeder on a long run today. Started up at Tolworth Court Farm, trying a few of the big climbs, then headed for home along the scenic route...the Hogsmill Walk. Not sure what the final mileage was but I reckon four miles?
  8. Epic trail run from Tolworth Court Farm back to home via the Hogsmill Valley walk...even better, nothing broke down, nothing needed repairing, and I didn't crash the Landfreeder into the river👍
  9. Yeah,I thought so too. As soon as I picked my jaw up off the floor,I started building a model of it in my head
  10. Rat rodded Beemer 2002...kind of http://www.speedhunters.com/2016/08/vegas-monterey-bmw-2002-off-roader/
  11. Thank you mate👍,I've actually bought a little camcorder for making the videos(sad I know😉) Remind your niece to watch out for Fenton😉 Ive started looking at the idea of stroke extension,I'm still a bit on the fence about the rear link kits. I'm looking seriously at a Radshape front battery tray though🤔
  12. That was the old crawler with the NI-cad battery from six or seven years back? Remember them well😉
  13. You mean it's too pretty not to drive😉👍
  14. Hi and welcome! Is the body a Kamtec,or flinched from a New Bright? Looks the business👍
  15. Thank you👍 I'd come up with all sorts ideas for the paint scheme, but I'd been over complicating it. In the end,she was alwYs going to be a runner, and black was quick, classic, cheap and simple!
  16. Can anyone think of any Group B shells to fit a TT-01?* *Thats available in the UK without costing a kings ransom!
  17. Nice! Problem is you just justified me getting another CC01🤔
  18. I ended up getting 50g strips of self adhesive lead, meant to be used as weight for golf clubs. I've added about 20g to each of the Landfreeder's front wheels. Much impressed with the improvement! Reall wish I'd had the lead strips back in my slot car days😘
  19. And one week on... Ali steering kit fitted;replacement servo fitted;front wheels loaded up with some lead strip? Fitted! Mega improvement in traction on the front end,you just feel so much more confident on the knobbly bits of trail! If only I'd taken a decent battery with me😤
  20. Been up since 8am(I had been planning a long lie in😪), but,I have more or less finished the rebuilt of my Landfreeder after last Sunday's unplanned river excursion, had my new off eBay rere-Brat out for a blat up and down the road...really impressed with it Theres a trail run planned for later, but that'll be after the bike GP😉
  21. That looks the dogs danglies!
  22. I was well pleased with how quickly and easily the new electronics went in(usually my nightmare part of any job). The steering mods offer a great improvement in available arc. Took it down for a late evening trail run beside the river. Good thing I wore my wellies...I dumped the poor thing into the Hogsmill😱 The motor and ESC were fine, the reciever needed to be opened up and dried, but is now working happily, but the steering servo may be a right off...watch this space!
  23. Just back from an early evening trail run....didn't get far. Managed to put the Landfreeder into the river😱 Motor and ESC are fine, waiting to see if the reciever will survive😪
