Or similar as I want to replace the smooth tyres from my Aqroshot to some with more grip for off road running.

To hijack this thread slightly. I got a couple of gravel hounds of Ebay a couple of weeks ago, both had rear tyres perished but other than that in working order. Tyres arrived yesterday and I had new bearings for both so set about getting them running today. First car no problem but the second one I'm having trouble with. When I push forward or back I can hear the motor revving however the wheels hardly move, the car jolts forward and backward intermittently. Took it slightly apart and exposed the motor, if I run the motor on it's own with no other cogs attached it runs freely as it should, however when all the gears are in situ, nothing really driving. Didn't get much time to look any further into it as I had an anxious 10 year old waiting to have a go of the other car. Any ideas what to look at before I start pulling it apart again?

Hi all, not been on for a while but a recent purchase of two starter cars for the kids has reignited the buzz. I want to upgrade bearings on a couple of df02 (Gravel Hounds), does anyone know or have a link to the actual bearing reference numbers? I only ask as a have a lot of contacts in the bearing trade so could get them as a freebie if I knew the actual bearing part number. TIA

Just took my old Mad Bull out with the kids and I think the old mechanical speed controller has died in a puff of smoke and glowing. Can I swap out the old unit for an ESC? I'm also running a sport tuned motor on it which I fitted last year, however it's not had much use since upgrading from the standard motor, would the higher spec be a factor in burning out the old controller?

I have a Mad Bull which I bought 16 years ago and it's still running original except for a recent race tuned motor. Like others have said; bulletproof. However, I bought an Aqroshot a few weeks ago and I have to say it's very fun to drive, I'm looking forward to tweaking this one...

In comparison to some on here i don't have many cars, only four. Saying that though this time last month I had two any they were both not running. So I now four runners, a PB Mini Mustang, a Mad Bull, a King Blackfoot and a new Aqroshot. Soon to be five but let's not mention that......

That's what I was asking; where to look?

WelWell well, a bit of a bonus! I had a bit of time today to see if I could figure out what was up with this and I think it could be salvaged. First I had to change the battery fitting to the Tamiya type as the PB fitting is a two pronged fitting which clicks into place, seeing as the one battery I had for it had long bitten the dust. Once I hooked it up and switched on to my surprise it spluttered to life albeit just about. Electrics seem fine however it just ambled forward and back and only 3 of the wheels were in motion. So took it apart to have a closer look... I ran the motor freely without it hooked up to the car and no problems, only once I fitted it back in place and then nothing, power to the motor but nothing turning. On closer inspection it appears the cog on the motor might not be screw on tight enough of the shaft, if I wedge something in the motor to stop the inners turning and turn the cog with my hand it moves on the shaft which suggests it's loose. Here's the kicker, I haven't got an Allen key that small (1mm I think) to tighten, not the end of the world granted but it's Sunday night and I'm itching to see if this minor thing is the reason for this car not running in over twenty years!

As stated, after a KBF shell in ABS, don't mind scratches as it's not for showing off, just needs to be on one piece. Cheers.

Another day, another delivery. This time a KBF project. Gave it a quick blast in the back garden and it's blooming nippy! Shell is a bit tatty but pretty happy with that.
