Thanks. I'll keep an eye out for them

This is my first time with a Top Force, which bits from the J-Parts are common for breaking?
-
You need the gear set. Built mine a couple of weekends ago and it had the horrible aluminium bits in.

Looking forward to seeing yours finished. I think I'll be ordering the plastic gear set. I was considering a hot motor for mine, but after seeing the performance with the kit silver can I think something more mild will be more than enough: maybe around 19/20 ish turns. What motor are you using? I'll need a decent pinion too, I'm just using the kit one at the moment, but I know from bitter experience I'd be better off using one made from cream cheese!

After more than a year of inactivity I decided I really didn't want to miss out on this so made my way down to my LHS and picked one up. Fancied trying something other than green so went with Tamiya PS10 purple (although it's more blue than purple to my eye). I think it works quite well. I could have done a better job with the stickers, but it's a runner so I'm not too concerned

Nope, sorry, doesn't help at all
-
@matman Track looks fantastic. I really wish I had the space to do something like that.
-
Really looking forward to the build. Been wanting a Hotshot for ages
-
Popped in to my LHS for a 'quick look' Looks like my Manta Ray rebuild is going to be put on hold for a while longer................
-
GRRR! Now you've made me want a Tomahawk! Knew it was a mistake signing up here, I can't afford this hobby

Looks great. Loving the colours you've used. Trying to convince my Wife to let me get one, purple is her favorite colour so I might show her this in the hope it might swing things in my favour
-
I've been looking at some of your builds/restorations, looking forward to seeing your progress. I'll have to get pictures and update everyone with how mine goes
-
Thanks, I'll give that a try. My first attempt with cheap washing up liquid didn't go so well. Wife's away this afternoon, not back till tomorrow night, I might get away with using the dishwasher haha.

Here's my original Manta Ray. It's been like this for a couple of years now. I'm hoping to find some time over the next few weeks to get it cleaned and sorted, see what bits I need, etc. Has anyone got any tips for cleaning all the old muck and grease off? Maybe a good cleaning product or degreaser to use? It's going to be used for fun and bashing, so I'm not aiming to get it perfect: It's only going to get dirty again

I built that for my son, it's holding up to an enthusiastic 8 year old very well Looks great, really hoping my Wife goes for one, then I won't feel as bad adding another car to the fleet It's a slippery (and expensive) slope..................
-
Lol, yeah good old lift off oversteer! At least he walked away - cars can be replaced, people can't
-
Sorry, double post. Not sure how I managed that

Thanks! I was so glad when they re released the Frog, had wanted one for years. I agree: they look so much better with the vintage decals. The Scania is pretty complex but was a dream to build, I imagine that's got a lot to do with Tamiya's excellent quality and attention to detail. I'd love to build a Bruiser but funds won't allow at the moment. Can't decide between a Wild One or Hotshot next - unless there's a nice suprise at Shizuoka 2016 (come on Bigwig )

Smashing looking cars, especially the Egress. Really nice.
-
Ok, I'll be brave. Here's some pictures of the cars which are currently up and running. Sorry the photo's are naff quality but I'll get round to some better shots one day. Couple of things to sort on the Scania, need to tint the windows to hide the nest of wires for the MFU and last time out I broke off the top lightbar. Frog and Pumpkin are standard runners.

Aww man must have been hard to see. Not many left these days
-
Oh yeah, I remember them. I'll have to keep a look out for one, cheers
