  1. It was close but I managed to source a 15t in 0.5 which fits great... (not a big fan of online shopping 😆) The "Tennis People" are out so I can't use the "Racetrack" yet.. 😆 (do they really need that net in the middle? 😆) Cleaned and repacked the differential too. Oh what fun. 😆
  2. Hi Well I'm trying to get it running again basically. At the moment it has a stock 70t spur with a stock 14t Pinion. I believe that the"step" or how it's called is 0.6. So I was thinking of putting a 15t on it. Some ppl have mentioned this before but there is some wobble in the whole axle so sometimes the pinion runs on just the edge of the spur causing uneven wear. Hmmm I didn't know about the 1t bigger pinion method for meshing. Thanks. I only just read about the paper method.. I was thinking of getting one of those pinions so that the pinion won't be affected by the axle wobble:
  3. Will do... thanks!
  4. Yep... they should be on both sides if you ask me... they should have a flat bit on the king pin to secure the bolt too but... Daaamn when did 90s Japanese cars became collectibles? 😆 Anyway Im grounded ... need a Pinion gear... at "Le Mans" least! 😆
  5. HiWill do! Thanks! Btw what's with the flanges on top of the king pin on the front suspension? Upgrade? Where are the springs? Only one I have left...: those Avante's on 'bay are starting to look pretty.
  6. Sweet looking Jag body shell.. won't bother asking about driver figure detail.. Yeah don't worry much about it .. if this didn't leak yet yours probably won't either for a while . .. Using it though .. another story.
  7. I got one already... if I get a new spur gear to run it.. trust me it won't be this one.
  8. Woah... sweet car... never saw that body shell on it... Hmmm won't the battery pack leak eventually? Toxicity bro! 😆
  9. Hmmm I won't be ordering any stuff from Tamico for it anytime soon if that's what you're asking... But if I could get a spur/pinion c combo that could work for a while... I saw a longer 0.6 15t Pinion which would probably run great... since it's longer the wobble on the rear shaft would not shave the spur too... Aint group C a trip..?😆
  10. Yeah well it doesn't... 😆 Is that an original Tamiya Ni-Cd battery pack? 😮
  11. Hi hi, thanks . Nothing... it's tip-top.. 😆 I'm googling and googling and I think that the stock stuff (which I'm running yeah) is supposed to be 0.6... there is a hop up option which is 0.4 but I wouldn't know... Motor is stock 540 Johnson... Ok no more lithium grease... The ESC has... 320a output!! 😆 (Chinese Amps.. 😆) but the Johnson has a max of <10a draw so... Yeah a tensioner... could squeeze one of those I guess with a drill... Maybe I could attach it to the motor mount plate too... and just get some Spur/Pinion gears with sidewalls to run the belt... They sell some TT01's on 'bay for 60 EUR... and I can run them in the park. 😈 Second picture is what I was kinda thinking of doing... running motor on opposite I can just do by turning the ESC plug on the receiver nein? 😆 Coz it has a brake and all.. or just switch the motor cables I guess... How would I go around to getting such a short belt thingy? Thanks
  12. Hi guyz. . So I finally got an ESC for the Group C chassis (don't bother mentioning the body shell anymore ) and noticed some things. Yesterday it was pretty fast, but kinda slower than when running it with the MSC but its still too soon to blame the ESC for that (might start a new topic about that later) but for now, both the spur and pinion gears are almost completely shaved. Some questions: -I was greasing them with lithium grease but apparently that's a bad idea? -When the motor is disengaged from the spur gear it spins like crazy. When it's connected to the pinion it produces a high pitch grinding sound but it still "seems" that it's not skipping any turns.. so main question: I got another spur gear on the cupboard (that probably happened before and had an extra) but I was thinking of getting: -A 0.6 step 15t pinion. Will that cause crazy overheating with the 70t spur? -Is there a way to convert the direct drive to a short belt drive system? If that's doable (basically place the motor away from the spur and just run a belt over both) would I need a 0.6 step belt? It's because it seems to eat alot of gear in each drive... I just found out about the paper sheet spur/pinion mesh rule so bear with me.. 😆 Thanks !
  13. Not really no... I'm kinda happy I had such a nice taste when I was 15 and bought the Group C Nissan... But... I can't find a place to play with it... I don't really mind the constant meddling to fix it, I'm starting to go through whole battery packs without having to go back home or carry a tool case with me, but if I got a buggy, or even a rally car I could have some fun in a park and not lurk in Basketball and Tennis courts under the hot sun... Also now that I started playing it again, I get to read all the comments about how this car is now shelf Queen material etc. This kinda makes me think of pulling some nitro mors, repaint the body, get some knick knacks from Tamico and just put it aside. What I am happy though is how good electric cars became. Back then Nitro cars were da bomb... NiCd batteries where awful, needed ages to recharge etc etc. But now with LiPo it's probably better to just have a couple of packs and enjoy for longer with less complicated repairs.. (repairing a scale thermal engine sounds... well... bad ) This is what I started with! A 1300mah NiCd.. Anyway... I love the car... but I guess I won't be driving to any sandy beaches any time soon... unless I make some ... ehmmm... "modifications" and change my Nick to "Mad Max". Oh man I need new tires...
  14. Lolol thanks. I was actually thinking of getting the bod repaint but it would probably be purple if I was to drive it. I'm kinda thinking of a buggy coz you have many more options for driving... currently I have a crush on an Avante but I'll have to wait a bit... Group C drives quite well actually.. if you get the direct drive differential correctly set... which is like never. On today's drive I only lost one of the two front shocks (lost the fixing bolt and replaced with a screw from an aerial plug ) and the MSC only works in reverse now... Soon.. soon.. Here's another... sorry it's dirty, how does yours look?
  15. Hi all! Im a new member. I found this place after searching alot over a Nissan R91cp that I had for ages and started driving again lately. Initialy I wanted to ask about the front suspension falling out the A-arms but just yesterday I found out that there is a fixing bolt in the wheel axles... So now I have no questions yet. In the meanwhile here's a photo of it. In the wrong color, complete with the Mechanical Speed Control which I really have to ditch.. ehmmm yes, probably not shelf Queen condition. Of to the tennis court I go before someone goes there to play tennis or something.
