  1. Nice one! Let Round 45 begin! Rules and results submissions as per first post in the thread, round 45 will run until midnight UTC on Sunday 28 April. Hope everyone has fun!
  2. Indeed. They are about as genuine as anything else Absima sells. Genuinely bought from a Far Eastern generic mass producer and stamped with their own name. 😀
  3. While I agree that optional pit stops could be an interesting aspect of the race from a strategic standpoint, not everyone has the gear to allow them the full choice of potential strategies, and I don't want a situation where the winning strategy is only available to those who can afford it. Smacks a bit of cheque book racing, or whatever its modern equivalent is called. PayPal racing?
  4. Looks good to me, both for the postal races, and for the inaugural endurance race in scaled up form. 👍 I'd leave marker 9 in personally, to stop people who have space to do so from going too wide, and possibly having an advantage over people with less room.
  5. That's a start. If you swap the servo plugs, does the steering servo work in response to the throttle, and the MSC servo stop working altogether? If so, the problem is on the radio side. If not, the problem is with the steering servo.
  6. If you can power up the rig by connecting your sticky tape battery stick directly to the receiver plug pins, but not to those on the battery side of the switch harness, you might be able to get the switch working again by rapidly turning it on and off repeatedly. The contacts within it may have become corroded, and could be in need of some exercise to get back into working order.
  7. Corroded terminals in the battery holder could very well be the issue. If you don't have a spare, you can use sticky tape to temporarily put four AA cells in series, and then run some scrap wire from each end of your battery stick to the pins inside the plug on the receiver. If it powers up, you know a new battery holder is in order.
  8. Here is a link to the results submission form for the endurance racing, based on the one used for the monthly postal races: https://forms.gle/Pw6Zpnv4guBxZmw18 Feel free to try it out - I'll reset it before racing proper gets underway - and please let me know if you have any issues.
  9. Whereabouts are you based? If you are anywhere near Lincolnshire in the UK, I have a fair bit of old school radio gear that you can use for swap testing?
  10. The 2WD sibling in name is the DT-01, but in character it is probably the Bear Hawk, with double wishbone suspension, lower arms that are made up of two halves screwed together, fixed length plastic upper arms, some shared drivetrain components, etc.
  11. I don't think so, but even if we have, there is no reason that we can't go back! 😁
  12. Do you think that somebody might have heard rumours about a car last seen on the M-03 chassis being re-released, and was thinking that it will be on the M-03 again, not realizing that this time it is coming out on the MB-01?
  13. Thanks to all who participated, and congratulations to @Andreas W on another win! I am quite happy with my results on the whole, as my self-imposed mission this round was to get my DT-03 set up to at least keep up with my DT-02s, and with both managing the same lap count, I think I was successful. Having achieved what I wanted to with the buggies, I then gave my M-07 a little run at the track yesterday, and it did well all things considered, but having spent most of the round driving RWD buggies, I wasn't quite in the groove with it, and I am sure it could have done better had I been better at switching driving styles to suit it. How did the round go for everyone else?

  15. Last call for results submissions! I'll be collating and posting the results later today.
  16. Sound like wishful thinking, but it would be great if it were true!
  17. The chunky 0.6 module gears make a bit of noise once you get up to speed, but it is still quieter than most touring cars.
  18. When the time comes to change your tyres, you could save a bit of money and gain a bit of ground clearance by fitting the FTX Vantage wheels and tyres, which are taller and typically cheaper than the Tamiya equivalents. That is what I run on mine: I also see your rear wing appears to be missing. An original replacement would typically come as part of a body set and thus be a tad costly, but again aftermarket is your friend. The Schumacher Talon wing for example is cheaper than a Rising Storm body set, more robust than the original, and also has more effective aerodynamics. My original Rising Storm wing is still going strong, but when it inevitably gives way, I'll put a Talon wing on it as I have done with my Manta Ray:
  19. Due to coming with a steel pinion and metal diff parts as stock, it is a great candidate for brushless power - all you need to do is swap out the plastic propshaft for a metal one (it uses the same shaft as the TT-01 so you have plenty of options) and the drivetrain is rock solid. Mine has been running 13.5t on 2s for years with no perceptible drivetrain wear. And you got it for less than ten bucks? What a bargain!

  21. Die Verlegung der oberen Dämpferhalterungen scheint eine tolle Idee zu sein. Ich denke, ich könnte es mal bei mir versuchen.
  22. They sure did! What a lovely car - well worth the effort I'd say!
  23. Great update! Looks even better in 4X4 Dakar guise.
  24. I am really enjoying seeing people's different takes on the Group C chassis. Of the four recent builds documented here, three of us have fitted roll dampers, each coming up with a neat, different and unique way of doing it. I look forward to seeing your solution for the cooling fan mounting. 👍
