  1. Some ideas here: ...and I think I remember reading somewhere on here where someone did a proper 4-link conversion to the rear suspension. I searched, but cannot find it.
  2. Your English is fine. Welcome from Texas, USA.
  3. I found the arms on Tamiyausa.com, but they don't have the other parts. Is there another website I can search by part number to find the other parts?
  4. Not going to lie. The first time I read it, I was like "What the heck is a Gool?". It was enough to get my attention though.
  5. Nice work so far. I have the XV and am planning a rally build as well. So far, I have acquired wheels, tires, and a YeahRacing steering kit. I like your idea of shaving off the block for the extra suspension travel. Definitely following this build.
  6. My Amarok is still in the box waiting to be built. After looking at the white one above, it'll stay in the box a little longer while I find the parts for a wider stance. That one looks great. Thanks tamiya_1971 for starting the thread, as I wouldn't have even thought about it. Me thinks Truck Norris should make a picture thread so we can stare at all of the beautiful builds.
  7. Now I am tempted to open up my Dewalt vacuum and see what's inside. More curiously, how it would perform with my 15T Firebolt.
  8. I found this guy on eBay selling a chrome Hemi: http://www.ebay.com/itm/V8-Engine-SCX10-Drift-Car-Axial-1-10-Tamiya-Traxxas-Building-Materials/152544425840?_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D40130%26meid%3D929cb7315a2448e5833371f5cc2cad3c%26pid%3D100011%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D3%26sd%3D152219908018 I know you said it has to be a Chevrolet. If you read the description, he says: "If you would like more motors then are listed contact me through ebay messages.". It might be worth sending him a message to see what else he has. 9. I'd also like to add, whichever kit you chose, get a set of bearings to replace the stock plastic bushings. The bearings will reduce friction, allow you to go a little faster, and give a little more run time out of your batteries.
  10. Which chassis' have you built? Maybe someone can offer suggestions on a challenging build that may interest you. What happens if/after you build them all and the challenge is gone?
  11. Nice. Where did you get the metal brackets that the rear links connect to? Did you make them yourself?
  12. Very cool. What other mods do you have done to it?
  13. I was considering them myself, and started looking around here. I found a bit more info in this thread:
  14. Wow, this thread has grown! Impressive times everyone. The last time I was here, this thread had just started and I was all interested in participating. Life got in the way, and Tamiya's collected dust. I did manage to keep up with maintaining the batteries. Yesterday I finally drove that Neo Scorcher, that I built back in September, for the first time.
  15. Very nice. I assume you have the same wheels as me. Why did you go up to 16's? Most people go from the 16's down to 15's for the ride quality and tire selection. Before I got my Miata, I almost decided on an MR-S, but it had issues with the pre-cats. What mid engine car are you after?
  16. Looking forward to seeing it with the stickers on.
  17. My problem isn't that I forget to buy things. It's that I forget that I bought things.
  18. I got the battery for my old phone and set it up with a GPS speed app. It'll be 2 weeks before I have a day off to test and go from there.
  19. Not mine, but I used to go to the weekly car shows here to take pics of all of the cars. Here's some. Hundreds more in my Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/amdn/collections/72157604260891455/
  20. Your parking lot looks very smooth. Also, just ordered a battery for my old cell phone, so that will be my speed recorder.
  21. Why put the GPS on the shell? Wouldn't it be better to put it under the shell, such as velcro it to the top of your battery? Putting it on top would make you that much more top heavy, where-as putting it inside would keep the center of gravity lower.
  22. The cheapest I have found is my old cell phone. The battery is toast and a new battery is $5.00 USD. It's an old phone, so I don't care if it gets broken. Still on the lookout for a cheap and proper GPS unit as it would be smaller than my old phone.
  23. And you claim that it started out as a Tamiya when the only thing left on it that is Tamiya are the wheels.
  24. I changed your quote to reflect the order of evolution. You start out optimizing a stock setup, move to hopups, then end up making your own stuff to get that extra bit of speed. You start with #1 and say that you have no interest in #3, but #2 is a maybe. Next thing you know, you're well into #3, have every hopup available, and just bought a whole other kit just for spare parts.
