So Long, And Thanks For All The Fish!
Kingfisher replied to Granddad Stinky's topic in General discussions
What are you doing, making a bearing wheel into a hex wheel? GPM also has a solution for that. https://www.ebay.com/itm/GPM-DT3010F-S-Aluminum-Front-Wheel-Hex-Hubs-Adapter-For-Tamiya-DT03-Hop-Up-Parts/112184739875?epid=23011377886&hash=item1a1ebb4823:g:tRwAAOSwImRYEvH8 I've got a set of blue bits coming from RCMart. Should be here in a few days. -
Still using the same tires with the SuperBuggy axle in there? If not, then your LB tires could be slipping on the rims. If not that, then I would look at the pinion gear on the motor. Did you use thread lock on it? It could be slipping there.

I too am curious and have been eyeballing the Arrma Senton and Axial Yeti Score. Anybody have one, or heard anything good/bad about them?

I don't know what happened with the sway bar incident (nor do I care), but you've posted it publicly, so I am going to respond. WE ARE GROWN MEN PLAYING WITH TOY CARS. There is no need to fight. If you don't like something someone else says, ignore them and their online posts and move on. Don't let one person ruin the whole club for you. Are you building these creations to please other people, or to please yourself? Part of the reason why the blue bits threads get more hits than the home-gamer stuff is because anybody can buy the blue bits, but not everyone has shop skills. I enjoyed seeing your work and hope you choose to stick around.- 44 replies

Shopping cart system has been down for a few days now. I'ts too bad they couldn't just improve the old site and not made a whole new one.
-
Just something I noticed, but it seems that every time the Conrad 240826 thread comes up, the forum starts going down.

I agree with that. I went into the local rc store here a while back. They had Axial Wraith Spawn kits for $500+ USD. You can get those same kits for $329 online. Tamiya paints were almost $10 USD a can. There was a guy paying for two RTR's (I think both were Vaterra Ascenders), and if I remember correctly, the total was around $1100 USD. https://www.ebay.com/itm/US-Original-Wltoys-12428-1-12-2-4G-4WD-Electric-Brushed-Crawler-RTR-RC-Car-Best/302453598772?epid=16020360243&hash=item466ba3aa34:g:R7wAAOSwnHZYmD0o

1:1, bad rack & pinion making the pump go bad?
Kingfisher replied to Juggular's topic in Anything not RC related goes here
If the pump has to work hard to keep a bad rack operating normally, then yes it could make noise. If the line is obstructed, restricted, plugged, or kinked, then the pump could make noise. Rules that I have made for myself from experience, and I have owned some total junkers in my life (surprisingly, the two Subaru's that I did own, were not junkers). I stopped using refurbished auto parts a long time ago. The quality control is horrible and they will fail prematurely. I've seen some refurbished parts dead from the start. Cross threaded or stripped bolts as well. Use OEM parts or nothing on a reliable daily driver unless you absolutely cannot find that OEM part. Then, buy brand new and not refurbished of the non-OEM brand. Refurbished parts are for a car that you're about to sell and want to save money repairing. If your mechanic thinks the rack and pinion is bad, then why did they replace two PS pumps? They should have replaced the rack first thing. I'd find a new mechanic and get a second opinion. As mentioned, I had 2 Subaru's and neither of them had power steering as an option. You could find a dedicated Subaru forum and ask around there. Maybe it's a common problem with that specific year of car. -
[Threads Merged] I keep getting this error when clicking from thread to thread.

Amazing rumour about a genuine Conrad 240826!
Kingfisher replied to miramar's topic in General discussions
The wheels still go the same direction. What if the rear motor tears the axle from the chassis and the two motors collide while under full trigger. It will be the end as we know it. -
Agreed. I don't have one, but would like to see the OP's.
-
I've used them too, but since HKing changed their website, those tools cannot be found. There's even complaints in their forum about them missing.

Is there a Lipo battery finder that anyone knows about? I'm looking to search by physical dimensions as well as cells, capacity, and mah. I was using the one at Hobbyking, but since the website change, it seems non-existent. Any others? I'm trying to fit the largest mah 2S that I can in an RM-01. From my quick and rough measurements, I get 100mm x 60mm x 23mm of max space.

By any chance are you running plastic bushings instead of bearings?

Weight loss, health improvement stories?
Kingfisher replied to Juggular's topic in Anything not RC related goes here
I got some bad news. I actually learned this from reading through the comments of a Dietdoctor recipe. https://www.dietdoctor.com/recipes/sullivans-kedough-pizza I'm Brooke Stickleback there, in case you read and are curious to see my recipe change recommendations (mine are at the very bottom). -

What? That's insane. Did they think people were too stupid to pump gas? (youtube confirms this for a few). I don't like other people touching my cars and wouldn't be comfortable with someone else putting gas in my cars. That all applies here too. No liquor stores open on Sunday, can't buy beer until after 11AM on Sunday. It's called Blue Laws. Our Blue Laws also prevent you from being able to buy a car on a Sunday. -
Mine. 4370kV brushless on 2S with DF02 gears and the Tamiya Diff Lock Block in the rear. No problems and I beat on it pretty hard when I had that motor in it.
-
Not sure I understand. Are you actually bending the rims?
-
Here's a recent build thread in case you want a reference.
-
Here's some more info on using the DF02 gears, along with parts number.
-
A lot of them are missing the manuals that they had on the old site. Here's a link to one that has the manual, so you know where to look for it. https://www.tamiyausa.com/shop/-road-buggies/rc-neo-scorcher/tt02b/ I agree, the lack of manuals is a step backwards. I guess they want us to pay for those too.

Tamiya prices at Tower/MAP Pricing
Kingfisher replied to tamiya3speed's topic in General discussions
I search the US listings for used Tamiyas and don't find much that interests me. I search the UK listings and come across quite a few used cars at decent prices. Besides, you guys always seem to find the best deals in the "postman brought me" thread. Oh yeah, I remember the F104 incident. Interestingly though, the Wolf is no longer on sale on the new Tamiya site. lol at the spoon. I wonder how Tony'sTamiyaParts can keep the prices low while offering free shipping to the US. -
^ What he said. Also, GPM makes/made steel gears. Don't know if they still make them, but you might be able to find some on eBay if you cannot find the DF02 parts. Edit: RCDamper has them. I have a set of these. They have some weight to them compared to the stock plastic gears. https://www.ebay.com/itm/HARD-STEEL-DIFF-DIFFERENTIAL-RING-PROPELLER-SHAFT-GEAR-TAMIYA-TT02-TT02B-TT02D/183364374229?hash=item2ab15e4ed5%3Ag%3A6EMAAOSwcLxYGj8r&_sacat=0&_nkw=tt02b+gears&_from=R40&rt=nc&LH_TitleDesc=0

Tamiya prices at Tower/MAP Pricing
Kingfisher replied to tamiya3speed's topic in General discussions
Your UK eBay listings are WAY better than ours, and most of your guys don't even ship here. Want to trade? -
I wouldn't pass on a free truck like that, and I wouldn't feel bad about bashing the wheels off of it either since I didn't build it. I've attempted talking about to two of my coworkers just to see if they shared the same interest. My topic was immediately followed by a "how much did that cost" and "wow, that's expensive" I got the same responses from both of them. I stopped talking to people about RC. If the first thing they ask is how much it costs, it's a sure bet that they have no interest.
