Yeah! They actually power the chassis. Hahaha!

Seriously, they're roborovski hamsters. The smallest but fastest breed of hamsters.

Ah, so they're rated in KV instead of Turns?

A challenge: Design a hamster wheel driven chassis where you only control the steering from the radio. It won't be fast, but it'll be fun.

  2. When you receive the incorrect car, open a dispute through eBay immediately. When you go to add details of the dispute, tell them what the seller said to you. If the message from the seller is in your eBay inbox, do not delete the messages. This way, you'll be protected through eBay and I think (not entirely sure) you should get a shipping label to print out to send it back. It also might be worth your while to request a refund instead of a replacement. That way, once you enter the tracking info showing that the car was sent back, eBay can initiate the refund rather than you trusting the seller to send the right item. I'd also refuse to pay for return shipping without reimbursement first.

If you receive the car and send it back without a dispute, what proof do you have in eBay? The seller has already entered the tracking info which shows to have been shipped and delivered whether it be the wrong or right car. There's no guarantee that the seller will send you the correct car without a dispute and you'll have no proof of any of it. As soon as you take delivery of the wrong car, get eBay involved.

Was this a new car or used car? If new, can you say who the seller is? Don't know if that's against the rules here.

  3. Thanks. The dogbones were listed as Tamiya Boomerang, but share the same part number as the Dual Hunter WT01.

I'm currently working on a new servo mount which will also have front shock mounts in the same piece. I'm also still looking for a complete Vaterra rear axle.

I don't think I can stand to unlock my front diff. Nothing more annoying than having the wheel without traction doing all of the spinning. Heck, I even locked the diff in my M05.

@OldSchoolRC1 is running TL01B lower arms. Ever since his last post, I have found that if you google search for "CC01 2.2", you'll find a lot of info and threads posted by him going back quite a few years. All very helpful and something to learn from when it comes to modding the CC01. I thought I had some original ideas and then found out that he already did it 4 years ago!

NICE Wraiths!!! 👍👍👏👏👏👏 All 3 of them!

I guess I can Post my Wraith on here. Still a work in progress but is at least a runner!

@Only4Fun - those Shocks are CRAZY cool!! B)B):)  I have the Wraith Spawn Kit Shocks, because they're IKON's. If assembled with AE Green Slime and Tamiya Red 2.7mm TuRD O-Rings, they DON'T leak! Mine haven't leaked a drop, since I built them over a Year ago!! :oB) 👍👍

Mine also started as a Wraith Spawn..... but looks nothing like one now... Kept the Body, it's just VERY Modified!

@Kingfisher have you had any problems with the 20T Motor? My friends who had them, burnt them all up. It's much happier with the 27T... And you've got REALLY Crazy Shocks!! :o  Best thing is, they've got more than enough Droop to not look like you're TRYING to be "Mr. Flex Friday"!!! :P  LOTS of extension too. Since mine is primarily a Crawler, I may look into those. Can I ask how much?

I like the mods to your Spawn. What all do you have done to it? The cut out hood looks great. I haven't had any issues with the 20T motors yet, and my girlfriend runs the heck out of one in her RTR box-stock Spawn.

The shocks are 120mm Yeah Racing Desert Lizards and they go for about $19.95 a pair. I really like them for crawlers because you can build them with droop or a sprung suspension, and they come with plenty of springs to build both ways. You can maintain a nice low ride height and still have tons of articulation. The holes in the piston of the shock are really tiny and make for some very firm shocks right out of the box. I take a tiny drill bit just slightly larger than one of the holes, and open up the holes one at a time until I find the valving I want for the vehicle I am putting them on. This is one of the reasons why I like them, and why I am soon to put them on my WT01 and CC01.

I dare say, compare to the real rally film.  XV01 was filmed better.  Way better.

Have you ever bought extra parts for a car, but the car didn't show up?  You don't buy the extra until you actually have the car, so you won't jinx it?  Well, there is no jinx.  Just that when you have the extra, you feel the pain more acutely.  I don't mean to be rude, but if you'll indulge my superstition, I'll report as soon as I get it...

    Well said and I agree.

What extra parts are you sitting on? The peer pressure was just joking around. No harm meant by any of it.

I'd Post my Wraith on here, but it's not made by Tamiya!! :P cheers my newest Friend!

Not to hijack the thread, but I would like to see your Wraith. You can post it in the section called Other Makes, here:

Here's my Wraith Spawn and @Only4Fun's Wraiths.

Why, oh why did you have to show me your XV01 video...!!

I just ordered another car.  It's just not possible for me (actually, "the one woman spending committee" -- to borrow Jonathon's words) to spend on another car.  The committee would say that our 15 year old 1:1 might need to be traded in for a new one, and that's going to be a drain.

Oh, I shouldn't have clicked on your video.  It looked so awesome (especially in slow-mo), I have this burning desire to buy one (but I just can't...)  It's a torture, 78Triumph!

    1.  Add to cart.
    2.  Stare at it sitting in the cart for 7 minutes.
    3.  Enter all payment and shipping info.
    4.  Hover mouse pointer over Complete Order button 12 times.
    5.  Stare at it for 3 more minutes.
    6.  Spend 5 more minutes arguing with yourself about how you don't need it, but will be happier in the long run if you got it.
    7.  Make a post on TamiyaClub about #6.
    8.  Impulse Buy!

It looks like you're at #7. Only one more step to go. We're here for your support. We know you can do it. :)

    I have actually done this...

I have also tripped while marshalling a race and stood on someone else's car, breaking the suspension.

Unfortunately he was one of the guys known for flying off the handle and shouting a lot when things didn't go his way.  Fortunately he's a mate of mine so he accepted my apology with humility and declined my offer of spare parts and time to fix it, claiming "he wasn't enjoying the racing anyway and was looking for an excuse to sit in the pits chatting all night."

Wow. I feel for you. I would have felt so bad that I would have offered to pay for the entire car right there in hopes of getting myself out of that situation that much faster. Glad it went ok. I've known people who freak out and go berzerk over the smallest things. When something actually happens, clear out of their way.

If it were the other way around, and someone stepped on my car, I would have just said "help me fix it and we're good". I've had lots of practice repairing my cars after someone else breaks them just about every time my girlfriend drives my cars.

  9. Always looks awesome. If it were closer, I would ask the price for admission and then buy a season pass.

For some Group-B realism, you should add some scale spectators standing on a corner trying to reach out and touch the car as it goes by. :D

For the propane tank, can you change the appearance of it? Such as painting, vinyl wrapping, or anything like that? At least it's green and blends in well.

  10. Servo mounted for now. Will be going back and changing the screws to M3 with washers and nuts.

It just barely clears the gearbox with this servo horn. I want to move the servo further back to better line up the tie rods, but will need to find a different servo horn first. I cannot go much lower with the servo as it just about sitting on the gearbox covers screws. (You can also see the epoxy job from back when I ripped out the upper control arm while chasing squirrels.)

Tie rods made from M3 threaded rod and 4mm stainless tubing:

I had to turn the steering down to about 75%. It wanted to turn the wheels way passed full lock in both directions.

  11. My TT02 speed run car is running the plastic gears with a 4370kv brushless setup. I've had no problems with them flexing like they do in the TT02B. If you get the Yeah Racing aluminum motor mount, this will allow for a wider adjustment of different gears. If you swap to 48p gears, you have more gearing options. Mine currently has 66spur and 37pinion.

I'm sure the Castle motor makes more torque than my GoolRC motor, so I still wouldn't rule out the DF02 gears entirely.

  12.  I got an email about the November releases and they had the TT02RR in it. I followed the link and:

Tamiya USA's estore was recently down for about 2 weeks, I was not able to place an order at that time as well. Seems they must still be having issues and other problems this time around. I was able to finally place an order last Friday, and the order just now shipped this Friday, took a whole business week to ship. I have never had an order take a full week to go out, maybe 2 days at the most.

Same and I ordered about the same time as you when the ordering process started working again.

I also dislike that you can look up a part, and have the option to add it to the cart, only to find out that it's out of stock when you do add it to the cart.
