  1. Are the outout shafts for the diff on the TNX 6mm or 5??
  2. Well I cant get this crazy idea out of my head till I try it. If it absolutely cant be done even with modification then Im not out much lol
  3. That may be true, but you should be able to guess the kind of abuse Ill put it through lol. I ran across this and was comparing cad drawings between the stock semi housing and the TXT housing. The Integy housing has a removable ring gear from the looks of it. From the drawings I saw, which may or may not be accurate, I think the ring gear side of the Integy carrier and the non ring gear side of the TXT diff would mate up and the overall width would be very close to the TXT diff. Then the plan would be to make a ring gear to mate to the steel drive gear we are making for the TXT, to negate some of the wear on the softer stock ring gear. Some swapping of the internal bevel gears may be in order to mate the axles to the diff. For $25.99 I thought it would be cheap enough to get one to play around with.
  4. Was wondering if anyone has one of these diffs from Integy or knows anything about them?? Id like to see the internals. http://www.integy.com/st_prod.html?p_prodid=20017#.V_-3FHQo6BY
  5. Nice work Madinventor!! Ive kind of set a goal for myself on this project to make the ultimate stock configuration TXT-1. So far Ive been throwing ideas back and forth with mwitkowski on it since he seems to share my madness and has the know how to make what we've come up with. Ill post a link to some video of it
  6. I used an online gear calculator and it came out really odd... like MOD 1.2. Its definetly something Tamiya made just for these axles. Have you seen the Solidworks files of the TXT on Cadgrab?? Really cool stuff there and from what I have checked its accurate. My original thoughts on the drive gear was to have the shaft and gear one piece. I only sheared that shaft once and it was in the front axle... odd since the rear takes more punishment. So far the replacement shaft has held up.
  7. Hi all, recently joined and am working on beefing up a TXT-1 project Ive been working on awhile. Ive basically built the entire rig from aftermarket parts except for most of the gears and the diffs. What Im curious about is if any other spider gears and star shafts from other Tamiya models are compatable with the TXT diff carrier and axle shafts. Ive been especially eyeing pics of the ones from the CC01 models and since there are steel gears available for those I was wondering if they could be made to work. Does anyone here know the differences if any between the two??
  8. Thought Id chime in on the drive gears. My TXT has been the test bed for them, running a 3500kv 1/8th scale motor on 3s, and I havnt been nice to them lol. So far things are going well, I did shear off the shaft the gear rides one time at the snap ring groove. The D hole in the gear is holding up well. The ring gear on the diff is showing some wear but Im trying to determine if thats going to be a problem or if its just the 2 gears breaking in. Youre definetly not going to twist the center out of these.
