  1. Hello and welcome - love the lunchbox JJ
  2. Drop @Xeostar a message (same to anyone else who wants one) I was running my beetle today and it flies I’m gonna need a speed run test but it’s got to be +35mph if your diff has been slipping lots I’d suggest a new set of diff cogs anyway while you have the gearbox half out JJ
  3. Good read mate @administrator may have access to backups it’s fab to have so many projects on the go JJ
  4. I don’t think he’s like that And you know what, companies like controlled “leaks” as a social media frenzy is better and cheaper than a well thought out advertising campaign JJ
  5. I think it’s matte black etching primer so seems to have held ok wheels were from AliExpress - they are poor. i wouldn’t use them to run as the lunchbox adaptors are barely attached to the wheel hubs £31.49 | STREET tire set F/R 4pcs for CW-01 Tamiya Mitsubishi Pajero/ Lunch Box/ https://a.aliexpress.com/_uz9dn3 JJ
  6. It just took 3 weeks for DPD to deliver me a tamiya dirt thrasher gad it’s on its way now though JJ
  7. I had to get into LiPo for my drone - at the time I could get 2 x decent LiPo for £30 So not much more than nimh the charger was the biggest change Although again they aren’t lots tbh in my cars I just use and abuse them j have a LiPo alarm I charge them and keep them charged in a £10 ex military ammo box your phone battery is just as dangerous tbh the power density and deliver from the LiPo is loads better than nimh though beetle in 3s LiPo brushless and with brushless - you can get a goolRC motor and ESC combo for £30 so that’s not a big cost either but nothing is ever suitable for everyone JJ
  8. Mine in full cannonball run livery and working emergency lights painted front grill and side pipes plus full shapeways lighting set JJ
  9. My falcon was totally rebuilt using new old parts (and ended up making 3 in the end) all I’m really missing is the front shock uprights as mine are 3D printed I can’t wait JJ
  10. The issue with the ORV gearbox is the sides flex allowing the diff cogs to part the washers just act as a way of reducing the diff cogs separating as much but the sides still flex the same this just makes the diff tighter and could increase wear through additional pressure The @mheald version and the @Xeostarversion clamps the sides of the gearbox to keep it in place - as i said, my gearbox is handling 3s LiPo and a brushless motor now JJ
  11. Because we’ve designed it to be 3D printed we can do low number production run i drove my beetle this weekend in a damp street (brushless 3s LiPo) and it’s bonkers!!!! But no clicking anyway - speak to @Xeostar JJ
  12. My cup to cup distance is about 60mm rear skid plate to hub screw is 76mm JJ
  13. Ok so just focussing on the front for the moment my upper turn buckle is 57mm and my steering arm is 64mm weirdly my distance from edge of lower front skid plate to hun mount is 61mm but yours seems to be showing 52mm I can’t make mine that short whats your ride height ?? Mine is about 35mm JJ
  14. Measure everything for me and I’ll compare lower arms steering arms turnbuckles JJ
  15. You just need to not worry about ratios (imho) but in terms of mountain bikes small cog at front (pedals/pinion) and big at back (wheel/spur) means it’s fast at accelerating and easy on the motor but will not go fast as the motor screams the ones your stated seem ok - there is nothing bonkers there are the cars are pretty light get a 2S LiPo in there and then things will get warm but soooooo much fun JJ
  16. I bought a NIB one for £170 9 months ago and put a vailant shell on it love it maybe I should sell it for £500 I’ve still got the GT2 shell mint condition - wonder what it’s worth JJ
  17. Excellent work I need to work on my face details a bit better Luckily my last one didn’t have a face JJ
  18. Totes agree there - haha it’s a complex buy JJ
  19. Got my bling today for the 144001 Didn’t wanna go full bling and my main reason for buying was for spares tries the steering system but the tolerances are too tight went for the main chassis brace /top deck (used a hair dryer to warm the adhesive and peel the ESC/receiver combo) also installed rear wing support looks nice now i also disassembled the diffs for greasing took off the tops of the doff covers, removed the diffs, unscrewed and packed with some Tamiya grease. Inside the diffs themselves there was some grease. On the outside ther was some grease but on the diff housing and not on the outer gearing. on the pinion and spur gear there was nothing. I was going to replace the plastic spur gear with the metal one in the set but I was unable to remove it from the prop shaft. JJ
  20. Find the part number google it LOADS of UK model shops Tony is excellent (Tony’s Tamiya parts) I’ve also ordered from jadlam and everything one of those mentioned plus there are loads more my biggest headache is working out which one is cheapest by 5p JJ
  21. The blue on my 3yr old neo scorcher came off easy the metallic black on my 2yr old falcon wouldn’t come off for sht hit and miss long term but it’s great on cleaning up over spray etc and taking off new paint easy JJ
  22. Dont all these companies make to order? JJ
  23. I never said to host your files on thingiverse I said it’s easy to get someone else to print your things You want shapeways to set up in oz so your friend can have easy access to the parts you've designed as you already have a contract with them? 2 options he pays for postage or he takes your file to someone to print it and makes sure they don’t keep it as it’s your IP (unless it’s a replacement part then it’s the OEMs IP) Shapeways postage is bonkers maybe chat to Nathaneal and see if you can do business together? JJ
