You guys leave the house? Wow proper jealous
ive not been into my office for 12 months next week
given I work with autonomous systems I still feel my co workers would laugh their ***** off at me
I took my mini drone in once to show someone and had to fly it in the stairwell - he then grabbed it and flew I’d down the office - awks
i used to take my RC to school and use the tennis courts at lunch with @Xeostar
(in a day when you wouldn’t get it stolen if left unattended for 5mins)

Norway is not in EU either but new to us is that Ebay, AliExpress, Banggood add Vat no matter how low the price is, nothing get stopped for extra Taxes anymore though.
But when i shopped with Wheelspin Models they removed 20% Vat and i did not pay Vat when it arrived. Second time with Wheelspin i could see when using PayPal that Vat was suddenly included again, so i paid directly with Mastercard where it was not included, did not pay Vat when it arrived this time either, so i think it was slmething with PayPal @Problemchild
Exactly that - it’s a PayPal setting seemingly
stupid paypal

I just bought a baseball bat from a UK supplier and it arrived next day but when I paid PayPal it added VAT
cant get a response from the company

Depends on capacity mostly I’d say
im running 3s 2200mah which is about the width of a stick pack, a bit shorter and a bit thicker
Tight fit in the beetle but perfect in the TT02b

My dirt thrasher from France got stuck in customs.
id paid VAT at eBay check out
It seems the seller had some paperwork to fill out that was a customs invoice
my wiltoys from China I paid vat on through AliExpress but nothing on the box to say I’d paid but it did say it was only worth £30 instead of £100
ive also ordered a load of parts from AliExpress - all of which I had to pay vat on at point of sale so I will see how they are treated

I bought 4 sets from them to offset postage
don’t remember getting charged with any duty but was only about £40

Only thing I can think of stronger than Problemchild's suggestion is to use some flat aluminium bolted to the body with 3mm bolts. Not as clean looking. I've used that approach to repair/strengthen chassis, but that is hidden by the body.
At least the epoxy/matting will flex a bit. I've had good success with expoxy and gorilla glue.
Also, a wheelie bar will help.
Yes was going to look at one
ok matting and gorilla glue epoxy it is

Yup - about the same as you mate - I’d say there may even be a few more runs left on them

So I’m thinking 2 part epoxy and some fibre matting
anyone got any best approaches?

Just read that Team Durango didn't exist anymore! That make the availability of spare parts at least difficult. Here in Germany are the rest of the parts on clearance sale. I think I will have a look for other makes first. But thank you for the offer.
Yeah no probs - they are v tough being FRP though but I share your concerns
I have lots of spares

How do they perform? I'm looking for something 2WD for running in my backyard and I would like to have a Buggy with a good performance. Something that will take corners without too much understeer. Will be driven mainly on grass.
Excellently - I’ve only ever driven Tamiya but wanted a 2wd bashed and saw the white one and bought it but it needed a lot of work and spent a few months restoring it - even needed a new esc last week
it really surprised me how good it was
im selling them both and tbh just advertised them on Tamiya legends.
selling them together as a pair for £140 plus a bit of postage
or
£80 for the yellow one or £60 for the orange one
ive also got a whole heap of wheels
PM me
some pics

My beetle is proper fast and the shell is taking a massive beating (especially the rear end as it wheelies too easy)

there is no point me getting a replacement as a new one will end up in the same condition in minutes
so apart from some trimming and tidying - I’m after some advice on how to repair and repair so it’s strong
thanks

Demand vs supply trumps even a pandemic
if there were loads out there then they would drop in price
there is no central organisation that determines the price of things so

Box set defo pulls at the nostalgic heart strings but if tou don’t want I then fab - I love seeing all the variations
ive done my 959, clod buster, terra scorcher and things like my hotshot box art - because that’s what I remember as a kid stood in beaties

ive done my mantaray, falcon and racing fighter close but with a few tweaks

(Pearl white with pink translucent canopy)
(metallic black all over)and for things like my wild one, durga, zahhak etc ive done what i wanted

just go for what makes your feel great
but think it through and come up with a plan. Prep and get all the paints you need. Think about the order to paint things.
Thunk about backing the colour in silver or white if blackeg my Avante I’ve done box art metalic blue but I backed it in silver for more vibrancy but then also backed again in black for depth of colour

I think that as long as the can is warm and the shell is warm and you only pop outside for 20 secs (and of course as long as it’s not raining or blowing a gale) then you can paint all here round
i have considered one of those plastic greenhouses to paint it

@Xeostar only lists if he has them “in stock” and by that I mean already printed (he’s just my mate from school and I highlighted the issue and he designed it and i trial ran a few variations till we got it just right

Yes, his 15,000 subscribers and 6,000 views must save Tamiya a fortune in advertising to the masses
6000 ALL RC fans
mans now there is a thread on Tamiya club talking about it
how many people pre ordered a top force evo because they saw it on either his channel or Tamiya legends
weirdly, before Xmas I saw clod blacks pre order at Tamico and stated as “release date” and I spoke to Tony Tamiya and he said he’d spoken to his contact and asked about re re and they confirmed there wasn’t a re re so assumed it would just be some extra stock found
Tamiya could do things so much better on social media.

Grab a Hobbywing QUICRUN 10BL60 Sensored BL ESC from Modelsport for £30 then you can also upgrade to 3s LiPo
don’t forget you need the sensor cable and an adaptor to run a standard stick pack though (and get your soldering iron out)
OR
get a brushless combo from goolRC for £30 where your get the motor and ESC together
