Really like the look and proportions of this one!

Works like a charm. I did not do the front lower ones yet but am already pleased with the upgrade.

I have two sets of 50591 on the way (and 50583 for screws). I don't think I have bashed the eyelets too much already but will post my findings when I have received them.

Thanks for the quick response. Yes, the opening in front suspension arms indeed appears to be a bit shorter than 7.5mm.

I have been running my new desert gator for a few weeks now and overall I am very pleased. My only real gripe is the excessive slop of CVA shocks on the stepped screw and bushings. The shocks themselves seem fine and I have no aluminium fettish so I am just looking for a way to take the slop out. I found Tamiya shock collar set 50591 but am not sure if the standard shocks are suitable for mounting on these. Could anyone confirm this?

Reading around, it seems the salt water trick is not without controversy. I decided to gently discharge it to 1V using my charger (outside and monitoring the temp). After that I drained the last bit with a brushed motor and tied the wires together. I guess it should be safe to bring to our local disposal site now.

Yesterday, after a bit of bashing in hot weather, I noticed my soft case lipo (Turnigy Nanotech 2S 3300mAh was a bit swollen. It was discharged to approx. 3,7V per cell at that stage. I gave it a rest and discharged it to 3.0 per cell and charged it up to storage voltage of 3.7V later. Now it does not feel as swollen as yesterday but it is a bit "looser in it's jacket" than it originally was. It just seems that the outer wrapping has been stretched a bit. The white inner jacket did turn a bit yellowish compared to a new pack of the same type. It's not quite a new pack so if there is significant risk in keeping it in use, I will discard it but I do not want to dispose it unnecessarily. Before disposing it (to the appropriate channel), I guess I should discharge it completely (i could solder a car bulb to the leads). Any input is welcome.

Looks better in dirt though.

Just finished it and ran it briefly in my street. I am a very happy camper! It handles a lot smoother than I expected and my 2700kV set seems to be a good match.

Trimmed and painted body. Glued rear tyres. Not sure if I will glue the fronts. First time experience for both. My wife was kind enough to cut the window decals which I used for masking. ♥

Woohoo!

Some stuff from Hobbyking for my Desert Gator build. Can't wait for the kit to arrive!

I pulled the trigger on the Desert Gator. Instead of blitzer wheels and truck tyres, I settled on Tamiya Dual Block tyres (54185 & 54186) as used on the Nissan Titan.
-
I meant putting typical buggy rear tyres on the blitzer front rims which are only 44mm wide.

How well do the truck tyres go on the narrow front rim? I thought buggy rears were the way to go on the fronts.
