  1. I'm pretty sure I'm going to put in the Tamiya RZ Super Stock 23T.
  2. I appreciate the help gents!!!! Whay can I say? "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance", I'm more of a BMW kinda guy than a Harley guy. I threw back in the Tble-02s and a 2.4ghz receiver. No more BEC, no more extra adapters and spaghetti. Clean and runs great!
  3. Driver coming together.
  4. I seem to always rush the decals. But there is something to be said about free forming it.
  5. Loving the pearl white. It'll be a runner. So be it.
  6. One piece alloy rims and driver prep for painting.
  7. Turned the bathtub into a paint studio. I'm sure setting something outside would be better but I'm in a loft and this is easier. The fumes are contained in the bathroom with the fan running. No need for a cheap headache high from polycarbonate paint!
  8. It's like Christmas morning! That TEU-104 isn't going in this build. I put it into the first Hornet build. This build will have a TBLE-02s. While waiting for more transmission gears and parts, I think I'll get started on some paint.
  9. After rebuilding my original 84 Hornet I've decided to tackle a second new Hornet build applying all that I learned from the first build. I'm sure I'll still make some mistakes and learn more throughout this build. Your suggestions are welcomed and needed!
  10. With a full battery it will run for about ten minutes without a problem then the problem will start. When applying full throttle it just stops. I release throttle and try again, inches forward and then cuts off again. I have a multi meter. But these same batteries with same RX with the tble-02s would run about 40 minutes before showing signs of power drain.
  11. I'm going to run it with the low voltage first and then decide whether or kit to remove the red word from the ESC.
  12. Thanks man. I'll give it a whirl. I too noticed short run times on both my Nicad and NiMH.
  13. Hey Willy, when you have a moment would you take a look at my recent post on this thread and give my wiring a once over? McInnis and I could use another set of eyes on this BEC and ESC set up for my Hornet. Am I supplying too much power to the RX? Thanks man.
  14. I'll try the low voltage cut off. I've got the instructions. Thanks man.
  15. So the red wire is always the power wire? Like I said, I'm learning. I see in your picture that your pulling power from the plug to the BEC and then have the 3 wires from the BEC plugged into the battery port of the RX. But nothing is attached to the red/black wire coming out of your ESC. What would be the use of the unused red/wire from your ESC in your set up? To power r something else? In my set up, I have the red/wire from the ESC connected to the red/wire of the BEC. Then then on the other end of the BEC the red/black wire is connected to the battery port of the ESC. I thought this completes the circuit and regulates the power from the ESC through the BEC to the RX And yes, I then have the red/black/white wire of the ESC connected to CH 1 on the RX. I did not realize the red wire is power wire and I'm now giving too much power to the RX. It hasn't fried. So you're suggesting that I just snip the red wire that is coming from the 3 red/black/white wire from the ESC to the RX? Hmmmm, I'm totally scratching my head.
  16. I do have it set up just like that. I thought that was the point of the BEC. i did run the buggy like that and it did not cry anything, but I did have the full throttle problem.
  17. eBay. It's pretty much where I find everything, except for the Ampro 3D printed parts. I get those direct from Shapeways.com http://m.ebay.com/itm/alloy-rim-tamiya-sand-scorcher-grasshopper-frog-hornet-superchamp-fighting-buggy-/130855323494?hash=item1e7795c766%3Am%3Am7Zx2Ik7jF7YhyFVuMFZRfQ&_trkparms=pageci%253A3e463459-f5db-11e6-a36a-005056b6897d%257Cparentrq%253A5155e1b115a0a60cb72932eafff3ab6a%257Ciid%253A3
  18. So I just picked up a set of alloy wheels to run on my Hornet. They look great and fit well but certainly aren't as well fitted S the three piece plastic Tamiya wheels. I've not run them yet but they sure do look like the could certainly slip. Any suggestions on how to get a better seal on these one piece alloy rims? Shoe Goo? Super Glue? Some type of sealant? I have another set on order for the FAV/Brat tires and I bet I'll have the same issue. Suggestions?
  19. All the blue Ampro parts went on my original Hornet. I just ordered all new Ampro parts in orange for a completely new Hornet build.
  20. Ampro Engineering: Rear Shock Mount, front end 0 offset double wishbone suspension, eyelets for 85mm shocks, extended rear end shock mounts, battery door and transmission lock down .
  21. I rebuilt my original Hornet with tons of parts from PintoPower/ Ampro Engineering and just started a completely new Hornet rebuild. I'll post photos and the build shortly. Your Grasshopper build looks great!
