  1. Wishbones on rear end
  2. Servo in Front Wishbones on.
  3. In the box everything is labelled very clearly and well packaged. Chassis halves together. Best tip here is to apply a small amount of grease to the tip of each self tapper, it is so much smoother getting the screws in.
  4. I thought I'd detail the build of my Neo Fighter here in case there are people who were interested in getting one. Box art is pretty eye catching and the yellow sticker on the top right hand side details the hop ups that came as standard!
  5. I remember using a similar product on locks. You sprinkle the powder onto the key and insert it into the lock, lubricating it as it passes through.
  6. All sorted now. It was swapped out for a Viper Mtronix one. No idea how it compares with the Tamiya one, other than the fact this works!
  7. Interesting. When my son's car over Christmas I used the one tube supplied as sparingly as possible as there didn't seem enough. When building mine last week I used silicon grease from work, so I had plenty, and used it a bit more liberally! I like the sound of the graphite powder though!
  8. Love the info, this sort of thing really helps.
  9. Very nice! I agree with you on the issue of some, seemingly inferior kits, being more expensive. I assumed it was nostalgia that increased the price.
  10. I can't wait, it's like being a kid again!
  11. If you get burrs on the back, where you have drilled through these can be removed with a countersink or just carefully run a larger drill, by hand from the reverse side.
  12. Thanks for the reply. I spoke to the shop a while ago and they said just come in, so fingers crossed it's going to be ok. After all it was only bought on Tuesday! If not I'll have a closer look at this and see if I can repair it myself!
  13. I see it wasn't just me that had issues with the front end! I was forever going to Beatties in Brighton for a new parts bag for the front end! Another big problem was the diaphragm in the shocks splitting and shooting oil all over the car! However it was these problems that made it great, you were forced to tinker with it and so you learnt about how thigs worked. (Oooh Beatties, that's a blast from the past now!)
  14. It was all going so well............. Finished the build of my Neo Fighter and was going to fire it up for the first time when.... I couldn't get the ESC to work. Looking on the internet it seems to be a common problem with the TBLE-02S. The LED flashes red/green and the set button cannot be depressed to cycle through the changes. I lifted the sticker and the set button seems to be knackered, there is not the positive engagement between pressed and in its neutral position. Bringing it into work this morning and having the resident electronics expert look at it he thinks "It's a potting issue, the potting juice has stuck the switch" (I think I know what he means!). I'm going to ring the shop up later and discuss the problem, hopefully they will swap it for me.
  15. Looks great, can't wait to get mine running! Really like the look of those shock mounts!
  16. Many Thanks, working a treat now!
  17. I came to change my profile but couldn't because I can't find my details on the "TC Details" page! Help!
  18. Blimey, wow, thanks for the offer. I'm UK based, on the South Coast just west of Brighton.
  19. After building two cars within the last two weeks I am in the process of building up a dedicated tool and spares kit. Apart from the obvious tools I am going to be building up a small box of generic spares in case of emergency! Now obviously I'm not going to be able to get everything, but I was wondering where to get the basics like the 3x10, 3x15 tapping screws. I'm guessing direct from Tamiya is an option but probably the most expensive one! Where do you guys get your spares?
  20. I'm hoping I can deal with the shop local to me rather than eBay. I like eBay, don't get me wrong but I prefer to build up a relationship with a real shop.
  21. I'll bear this in mind! As a bonus we have a 3D printer at work so I could in theory draw up any mounting bracket I require.
  22. Dare I say it but this is what I was looking at, but er, you didn't hear it from me right
  23. Thanks. I have just contacted someone on eBay about repro shells and decal sheets so hopefully I'll know a bit more soon. I'm in no rush but it's something I'll keep plugging away at!
  24. Having just bought a Neo Fighter I am already thinking about a new body shell design! In a nostalgic tribute to the old Tamiya Falcon I had in the 80's I was thinking about either painting a Neo Fighter shell in the Falcon colours and putting the Falcon decals on it, or doing the same thing with a Neo Falcon shell and fitting that to the Fighter chassis. My question is:- "Will a Neo Falcon shell fit directly on to the Neo Fighter chassis?" Many Thanks. (My second obstacle is to find a decal sheet from the Falcon, eBay has revealed one for sale but at £45 I'm slightly reticent!).
