  1. I guess I should have been more clear about what I'm after. I'm after a complete TT02b car chassis minus the wheels, tires and body. With df03 metal gearset is preferred. I'll go ahead and say that I don't really need the shocks, shock towers or any electronics either.
  2. Love the soldering iron next to the can of lighter fluid next to the plate of food!
  3. No I'm in the US, California to be more precise
  4. Rollers are fine. Don't need a body, wheels, tires. Willing to trade but I don't have much.
  5. Very cool to see this finished. I'd like to see some of the earlier pictures as they don't seem to show on here anymore. I'd like to apply some of these ideas to a TT02b Short Course Truck conversion.. a Nissan Titan Dt02 shell would fit a TT02b perfectly.
  6. Yeah this is just for bashing. I'm using tble02s with 2400 and 3600kv brushless motors in my Lunchbox and Dt03 respectively. I've tried my brothers lipos in each car for a couple minutes before and didn't really notice a difference which is one reason I've stayed NIMH until now. Actually both of those cars are setup just right and run great on nimh. Any more power would be too much.
  7. I have an original Blackfoot chassis with wheels and tires for sale. PM me of youre interested Jason.
  8. It seems like my Dt03 (3600kv brushless, 19t pinion) has no more punch on a lipo than it does on a nimh. Do you suppose it could be the Tamiya ESC connector choking the current down or perhaps the gearing?
  9. Berman I think that's what I'll do. After heat shrinking the individual wires I may add a heat shrink over all 3 just to beef it up some. What are your thoughts on Dean's vs ec3 connectors? I know Tamiya connectors are less favorable for their lower current rating. My cars are now a hodgepodge of connectors. 2 cars with Tamiya connectors, 1 with a Dean's connector. 2 batts with Tamiya connectors, 2 with ec3 connectors, 1 with a Dean's connector. Thinking of standardizing to one type across the board. What is preferred?
  10. So my new Torment came with a 5000mah 2 s lipo and a charger. Both seem to work fine but the balance lead has seen better days. Two of the wires are showing copper. Any way to chop the bad wire off and put a new connector on?
  11. Today the postman brought me a dirty but generally lightly used EcX Torment 4wd. Spektrum radio, Castle Sidewinder 3 brushless setup, a 5000mah 2s lipo and a prophet sport lipo charger. I paid $175 for all. The cars in good shape. The front bumper is cracked and the steering servo was shot. Swapped it out and were back in business. Gonna do a partial teardown, cleaning and rebuild (minus gearboxes). Overall very pleased.
  12. I agree with smirk. It looks a lot like a wheelie king though I believe the wheelie king has plastic drive shafts and isn't a true 4 link suspension.
  13. Intriguing! Ive never heard of the Vajra though the Levant does sound familiar.. I guess nothings really won't with me.. I'm only 5 cars in after all... Hee hee hee
  14. I really would have gone with a Tamiya if they made a proper 4wd SCT. Unfortunately they don't and so my other option is converting a TT02b into a SCT and likely being disappointed with it's performance. Considering I paid less than the price of a new 4wd Torment and I got a Castle Sidewinder setup, battery and charger along with it I feel pretty good about it. Worst case I can break it up into parts and probably make money selling it.
  15. All of the above are true! I'm still small beans compared to my brothers who got into the hobby at the same time. They each have multiple $400-500 cars. Right now I only have 4: Lunchbox, Racing Fighter, Blackfoot and a Wheely King. The Wheely King and Blackfoot are up for sale to make room for the Torment I have on the way since I never run either of them
  16. I have an EcX Torment 4wd on the way, should be here Monday. Castle Sidewinder 3 brushless system, 5000mah 2s lipo and charger included. And I'm looking at buggies. Both the Top Force and Bigwig have caught my eye. I've been eyeing a rere buggy too. Mostly the Grasshopper or Hornet. I also wouldn't mind having a dt02 Sand Viper, which was my original idea for a buggy before I got my Racing Fighter. Speaking of which I have some pretty good ideas for a project I probably shouldn't do of turning a TT02b into a short course truck with a Nissan Titan shell, proline Badlands and an extremely large brushless motor. And I've recently been struck with the thought that it might be great to have a Super Clod Buster. Goes anywhere, stomps anything. And I haven't been out to actually run one of the cars i actually own in close to 2 months. So besides the obvious, what's wrong with me!!?
  17. What's on the one in the picture? Looks like TT02b tires
  18. Holy badword! What are those !!!
  19. I run the tble02s in both of my main cars: a Lunchbox and a dt03. Both started out brushed and upgraded to brushless later. The dt03 hits the thermal on a hot day with the 19 tooth pinion on it's 10.5t motor. The Lunchbox barely gets warm. For radios I have a couple but I really like my Futaba 3prka. It's pricier than the cheapo Chinese stuff but not outrageous. Its 3 channel and has both steering and throttle end point adjustments, which is great for when you hand the controller to an inexperienced driver (you can turn the power down) For servos I like anything with high torque rating (15kg+), all metal geared and ball bearings. These seem to last the longest for me. I think the r203gf is the receiver I have for my 3prka. Ive never had a problem with it.
  20. Bump for the updated price
  21. My nephew and I took my small quadcopter down to the RC track along with my dt03 and Lunchbox. It had been acting up and I couldn't get it to level out right. I lifted the sucker 70 or 80 feet in the air and cut the throttle, let it get down to 25-30 feet or so and got back on the throttle, leveled it out and it came screaming past us doing 3-4 times its top speed. I pivoted on my heels as it came past and plowed it straight into a sign that was right in front of us. The quad was destroyed to say the least. The two of us literally fell on the ground laughing. It was worth 10 quads to have that moment together. So you can probably guess my vote. Play.
  22. Us only. Making room for the SCT I just bought. Vintage Blackfoot chassis. Original wheels and tires, rebuilt gearbox with new gears, fresh grease 2-3 NIMH packs ago. Upgraded to the new style cvds. Original drive cups and dog bones included. I tried to tap one of the original drive cups but broke the tap inside the cup. Recently replaced the front spindles, rear trailing arms, front rear shock mounts, front c hubs. The parts trees with remaining parts are included. Also including the Stampede body that's on it now, blue with a clear stripe down the middle. Still has the outside protective layer on it. Including the Johnson 540 motor that came with it, as well as the hitec steering servo and an ecx rx/tx/ESC combo. Includes all the original vintage parts from the truck that have been replaced though they are in poor shape, hence the replacements. Also including the metal compression plates I made for the gear box. Should be plenty strong enough to support 15t brushed upwards into brushless motors. Looking for $75 plus shipping. PayPal only. PM me. Pics on request. Thanks
  23. I'm not sure where 540 or 550 come from, I just know that 550 motors are longer than 540 and generally have more oomph.
  24. Something like this could be cool too. https://hobbyking.com/en_us/hobbyking-r-tm-1-10-crawler-monster-truck-135mm-wheel-tire-silver-rim-2pcs.html?wrh_pdp=3&___store=en_us Correct me if I'm wrong, isn't a 3650 size motor like 2 sizes bigger than a 540? 540<550<3650?
  25. Stinky i took the truck thingy finished link to get here.. missed what motor and esc you put in. What tires are those and how tall? Looks like the tall tires give it the ground clearance that the TT02b severely lacks.
