Is anyone in the US interested in a lightly used Wheely King? 4x4 with the kit ESC, RX, TX, motor? Run 5 or 6 times on nimh. Some light scuffs on the body. Good truck for kids. Replaced the servo saver and have a bigger pinion for it as well. Looking for $120 obo. Paypal only please. PM me. Price lowered. Buyer to pay shipping. This is a rtr truck just needs battery and charger, brand new going for $239. If I don't get a bite soon it'll go to eBay.

Come on someone has to try these off the wall Tamiya projects. Like the Tamiya wind generator set. Actually being in renewable energy a scale model wind generator sounds pretty cool to me. How dorky is that?

Rimmer you should put up that old Lunchbox so she doesn't get hurt, build her back up a bit at a time. Buy a re-release Lunchbox and mod the badword out of it. Oil shocks are a start but on their own don't help much. Add a front strut brace and an Ampro gearbox brace and you're in business. Run hard springs up front and soft as you can find in the back. The Blackfoot 2016 shock set is great for this with the brass springs up front. For a little more power get a Tamiya Sport Tuned brushed motor. For even more go brushless with a motor rating over 2500kv. If you want to get ridiculous speed put an 18 tooth Hornet pinion on it and experience 25-30+mph. A lexan body is a great mod that will bring your center of gravity down a lot. It also soaks up damage better than the heavy abs body. Get your kids some dt02/03's or a TT02b and use their cars as ramps for your Lunchbox. Or get them Lunchboxes too and enjoy destruction derby. Good luck breaking the Lunchbox though, they're very hardy trucks.

You mean you can't just hack saw off the part of the battery that's in the way...?

Short course trucks - how do they stack up?

Dojo Dave, I'm in the US. California. Where are you? -
I do think the dt02 Titan would make a fine basher. The SCT body shape makes a big wide force field around the actual car absorbing a lot of damage that would otherwise go straight to the car itself. It's also small enough that a Lunchbox could probably use it as a ramp. Too bad they aren't 4wd or I'd have my SCT I want right there...
-
So in between my drawn out Blackfoot project I've started looking at SCT's. I have options, which is great, but Id like some feedback from you guys. My criteria are it must be 4wd, preferably start out brushed and upgrade to brushless, needs to be tough and realistically economical. EcX Torment 4wd. My brother has one with a Castle combo and the thing is a great basher. Traxxas Slash 4wd. A truck known for being tough. A little on the pricey side however. Redcat Blackout and Caldera. Both reasonably priced. Redcat being a brand not known for its hardiness. HPI Blitz. Proceed similar to the competition. I'm not crazy about the chassis setup on these. Helion Dominus 10sc. Excellent price point for a truck with metal geared diffs, seems ready for brushless. Unfortunately I know nothing of the brand. So what are the recommendations? I know that the EcX and Traxxas will be on top but are any of the others even in the same league?
-
For the DT03 you're looking at the Neo Fighter or Racing Fighter. Tt02b is the neo scorcher and Plasma Edge 2. Both are buggies, the TT02b having extremely small clearance. I can't say I would recommend either for bumper cars with the likes of 2 extremely rugged cars like the Lunchbox and Mad Bull. If anything the Dt02 is supposedly stronger than the dt03, the 03 having reports of rear arm support breaking off the gearboxes. You should consider another Lunchbox or Mad Bull. For something different a WT01 could be a good basher. For other brands check out the Traxxas Stampede and Ecx Ruckus, both very capable monster truck type bashers with readily available upgrade and replacement parts.

That subie does look great in that shot! I like watching the off road vehicles landing jumps in slow motion. It's amazing to see the suspension at work. -
One of my brothers runs one of those Dynamite Fuse motors in his Losi Ten scbe. The thing screams. The other brother ran through a couple of 15t brushed Dynamite motors in his EcX Ruckus. He swears they named them Dynamite because they're meant to blow up. I have the same 15t brushed motor in my Blackfoot project. 2 packs through the car and no problems yet, but 2 packs isn't much.

Where to find misc. hardware for custom builds

Okay sorry for the double post but here's an even better question. What is the name for the little silver inserts that go in the top and bottom eye of a shock? They're round in the middle and kind of snap into the eye and then the bolt goes through it. I think a couple of these and some long bolts all the way through the c hub might serve better than a ball stub screwed into the top of the c hub. But what the heck are they called? -

Does anyone know what size of ball studs I will need for the DT03 c hubs? My idea is basically the same setup as running turnbuckles on a standard dt03 -
This is one of my specialities. I've taken to pockets for smuggling in hop ups and other small flat-ish things but the bigger stuff is where the real fun is. I've taken a few packages around the side of the house then come back in, reported "nothing important in the mail today" then headed out the back door and around to get my goodies and back into the garage to store them. My problem is that she's sharp as a tack and knows exactly what cars I have. Maybe that's why I'm trying mashups of the cars I have; subconsciously I'm trying to confuse her so she doesn't know what I have and I can get more! Also to fill the gap in space between new builds I suppose.. At any rate I'll add the Nissan Titan SCT to my list. So far I'm thinking a TT02b with the Titan shell, metal gears, big pinion and something like Proline Badlands. Probably a 4300kv brushless.
-
Thats not bad.. the dt02 is 260mm so the Titan shell would fit.. hmm maybe I should finish my Blackfoot project before I start planning more builds!
-
Yeah I've seen the Aqroshot.. gotta say I think 4wd is the way to go for SCT.. my brother has an ECX Torment 4wd with a Castle combo and Proline Badlands on it.. tough as nails, quick and turns like it's on rails. I still wonder about a TT02b with a similar setup.. what's the wheelbase on a TT02b?
-
Thunder that's pretty cool but I wish I could find a SCT body that would fit my Dt03. It's almost worth getting a dt02 just to turn it into a SCT. On second thought a TT02b with some SCT tires could be very interesting as well. Say Proline Badlands?

Where to find misc. hardware for custom builds
Munchbox replied to Munchbox's topic in General discussions
You're right, they're screw designations from the DT03. The ones that hold the suspension arms on. We're gonna try a front end improvement to the original Blackfoot using a Dt03 front upper arm and c hub to improve the geometry of the front end. I'd prefer to just pick up the whole parts bag if I can find one. Problem so far has been finding one.. -
I'm looking for some misc. hardware for my Blackfoot front end project. I need 4 BA11 screws, 2 BA10 screws, 4 4mm ball studs and nuts to go with them. I also need some dt03 front c hubs, easily found on eBay 1 at a time but if anyone has a lead on a pair of them that would be awesome.. After a second look at the DT03 manual it looks like the Bag A included with the kit would have all these parts less the c hubs.. no luck on eBay for this one, anyone know where I might find an A Bag from a dt03?
-
How dare you guys post side by side shots of the dt02 and 03 showing how much sharper the 02 looks and making me want one.. Before I decided on the DT03 (compliments of Jason's speed run) I was researching the dt02 as my second car. Now I must resist.. cant.. give.. in.. to temptation!!
-
I dunno the dt02 must be amazing because my Dt03 with a touch of positive camber and a little toe out does great at our local sand track. Oversteers if anything especially being 2wd and overpowered as it is.. I usually turn the steering EPA down by 1/4 and the car really commands the turns. Then my other cars out there are a Lunchbox and a Blackfoot, both modded but neither great in those conditions.
-
Either shoot low (2000-2500kv) with a hornet pinion or shoot high (3500-4500kv) with the stock pinion. You'll lose your Lunch for sure. (Sorry Granddad Stinky I know I'm in your territory here but I couldn't help but steal my chance at a pun!)
-
Thanks for the feedback guys. I may do this project but will probably put it on the back burner for now. I've ordered a set of Lunchbox uprights that will allow me to run the wheels and tires I want with a couple of spacers to make it work in the c hub. Prescient I've been looking for a set of tires like that for ages, definitely a bookmark for later.
-
Found them on Tonys eBay page. Thanks

Does anyone have a good lead for a set of cw01 steering knuckles? I don't need the arms, just the spindles but the only thing I've been able to find are aluminum ones and the part bag with tons of other stuff I don't need. Both are over $20us.
