@Grastens No, my bad. I should of included this type of mod in the title. It's good to hear what people have to say, especially when they have experience of a specific model and can see a resolution to a problem that others can't. Your car sounds good. You know, all my cars are on-road now and after reading about yours and other members buggy's, it's making me want one.

So I had a quick look and came across JetHobby quite quickly. They only had residual of things I didn't want. I did some further research today and came across a couple of build threads with highly modified TA03F and pics with parts numbers. So now I know what I'm searching for, let the games begin. To be honest I'll probably just shoot them an e-mail to see what they can do. And yes, after seeing the other parts available, it makes GPM seem a little archaic. Thanks Mr Chang, you superstar!
-
Yep. The only reason why I'm versed in this is that one of my cars started out as the Landmax Escort Cosworth, which I turned into an on road car. Great little car apart from the red main gear and the width of the car. Most the times when you went round fast corners, the car would roll over. So, on goes the DX arms and Medial Pros, which made a huge difference. Several years later Kyosho builds the Inferno GTs. I also managed to get the cooling fan working on a serpent shaft engine, equipped with 2 speed.

@firefoxussr How are you getting on with the McLaren? I had a quick look for SOK today and found nothing, as expected. These are the shells I was chasing. I wanted the Kyosho CLK GTR, but they are so rare I settled for the Tamiya version. It's a shame because the Tamiya shells are smaller than the Kyosho items.

@Wooders28 What's the part number for the original tyres?

Amazing rumour about a genuine Conrad 240826!

Gone, peace, out. -
Thanks again, good info. So in todays market place, does Kose, Tech, Tobee and Cross still exist?
-
Excellent, thanks for the list. Don't suppose you got any part numbers?
-
Yep. That's interesting. I thought dampers items were their manufactured items and not stock from GPM. I did have a look at the parts and they seem identical. What other manufacturers make the gearbox lowers?

@IronSights If your comments are for me then read on, if not ignore. Your hilarious. Calm down before you give yourself a heart attack. No I don't get it, so what? No one has crapped in any ones backyard. "Get ready to deal with the consequences" Are you for real, we're not at school. Or are you a school kid? "I think it will be you moving on in the end." I am a newbie and may move on, but it will my decision and certainly not influenced by you. A Forum is a Public place where people with similar interests share their knowledge. It would appear that you have a lack of understanding of this concept. Have a good day! -
In short, no. Touring car wheel/tyres for 1/10 touring cars. Check out my Yokomo in my intro post.

But to do this, surely the 5th element is required? Either way, I'm getting my trainers on now. -

So now I know about the Conrad. 32000rpm, is that it? It remind me of the Cobalt motors. Am I about to get lynched? -
@Wooders28 If you're referring to the Medial Pros, not sure. You'll have to confirm with them. If you click the 1/10, the 2.2 are listed. If you click shortcourse, 2.2 are not listed.

So I have spent way too much money on Hop-Ups for my TA03F Pro, leaving no money left in the kitty for electrics - for now. The parts I wanted were: Motor: Lehner 1920 3t (Kv=10450, Vm=85000rpm) Electronic Speed Controller: MGM TMM28026-3 (Continuous=280A, Peak=340A) Lipo: Fantom 6000mAh 100-160c 7.6v Tyres: Medial Pro Shortcourse Tarmac. What's your dream set-up and on what chassis? Hopefully this will give me and others inspiration.
-
Even real tyres have a sell by date. Would any of these be any good: http://www.medialpro.com/tires-shortcourse.html The only reason why I suggest them is that their Tarmac series is awesome!

If I remember correctly, the hierarchy was: Burns Inferno Inferno DX Inferno DXII MP-Series (Starting with 5) The main changes happened between the Inferno DXII and MP-x, as they had different gearbox mouldings, different centre support, different radio plate and a different chassis.
-
@WillyChang GPM or Dampers offering. This is true, neither have I had lower gearbox failure. I will be replacing the plastic steering support for Al item, as I have cracked a couple.
-
Hi Guys, Before I purchase and make a faux pas, I thought I would ask for opinions first. Is it worth investing in the lower gearbox, F+R? Weight is not a concern, neither is lack of parts or the pursuit of being a purist. Ta, Ajj
-
It all depends on what parts you require. To be honest just purchase the parts you need for 7.5, they haven't hit a premium yet and there's many aftermarket parts available. Rebuild your DX and put it away as they are rare now, parts are getting really rare now and prices are going up. Also consider this, the newer cars came with longer wheelbase, the DX is short and handles like a dream.

Don't know anything about Redcat, so can't comment. The shell you purchased is for a Super Ten, which was GP. I think I know where you can get decals and plastic parts for reasonable price. I'll check and PM you.
