  1. Ordered another Skyrc TS50 and 13.5t brushless motor off fleabay. Really impressed with the ones I got recently and only £48 all in. Will be put in my TT-02b to replace a HW1060 and 19t double and allow me to go up a couple of teeth on the pinion.
  2. Can be set for either, easiest off the box or laptop. Sadly the better TS120 and 160 wouldn't fit. Upgrade because its too slow?! Sure... Shiny shiny.. 😉
  3. Just got one myself to go in a Cat XLS. Was the only brushless ESC I could find that would fit as it didn't require a fan to run. I'm really impressed with it and if you can I'd recommend the program box for it. You can then link to a pc / laptop to program it and set loads of parameters. The program box also doubles as a servo, battery and motor tester plus you can also set the ESC with it! I've paired it with a cheap 13.5t brushless motor off ebay (think someone on here referred to them as a blue bottle?!) and now have an excellent set up for £50. I'll definitely get another set.
  4. Blimey, great job on the chassis. I really ought to have cleaned it before sending! Keep up the good work 😁
  5. Put a Sky Toro TS50 and one of those cheap blue brushless 13.5t motors into the CAT XLS. Really impressed with both, especially the ESC. Means I can take the CAT'S old HW 1060 and pop it into the M-06 for Lipo compatability.
  6. Its a charity build - Cat protection - Moggy's! 🐱
  7. Glad it all arrived in good shape, shouldn't be to difficult to get the last few bits. Cute fur ball 😁
  8. But it towards another build or bundle as spares, no need to return. Happy to contribute. 😁
  9. Will post this lot off today. The steering step screws had to have a dab of superglue on them to stop them unwinding. I actually used a long M3 machine bolt onto a M3 lock nut on my TT-02b (there's even a recess under the chassis for the nut) which may be an idea if you think they're loose. Couldn't for the life of me find both the gear shaft pinions, it'll no doubt turn up later! 😏
  10. How about mounting some posts on the rear bumper holder? Should end up under the trunk.
  11. I'd be happy to contribute for our furry little friends. Will look in a few days for what I've got, definitely have a chassis and possibly two diffs. Have quite a few odds 'n sods left over from a Tt-02b and Tt-02r models.
  12. Is that a re issue of a long damper XV-01? Pic above the TT-02SR. Hope so.
  13. That's really nice, might have to get the body set to replace the heavy low ride pumpkin.
  14. Funnily enough just saw the teaser.. Not for me. Please be a Mid... 😁
  15. Mudmad and Comical Avante sound interesting but the rest don't exactly get my wallet twitching sadly. Wonder what Kyosho have in store... Please be an Optima Mid!
  16. I'd put a vote in for the Spektrum Dx5c. I use both a stick set up (Core Code which is no longer manufactured) and the pistol Spektrum. Have to say I much prefer the Spektrum, seems so much more intuitive with steering. There are cheaper ones (Flysky is popular here) available than the £100 I paid for it but I wanted the security of on going support after the Core radio. It has EPA and many other features but most importantly multiple model memory so that for each car you get you just need a receiver and not a whole new radio set up. Obviously you still need two if you're running two at a time!
  17. Couldn't agree more, it's not just Tamiya that has this effect. I really want to mod my Cat XLS with the carbon and alloy bits but then it wouldn't be the replica that it's meant to be... But it would be cool to have all the bits... Or should I get another one to mod?... Aaaargh! Have probably spent way to much time deliberating over it... 🤔
  18. Swapped out the original chassis for the new hard one on the TT-02B. Really is noticeably stiffer with very little flex. Used the self tappers as they have far more purchase in the material except for the steering which I tapped and used machine screws. Very impressed for £7.50! Just need a dry day to run it now.
  19. Have you checked that the end points for the servo are all set to 100% (EPA) and then dialled back from there? My CR-01 had the turning circle of an oil tanker with both diffs locked and one servo at the front. With both locked it needed rear steer but with just the back locked it wasn't to bad. I use a Spectrum ZX5c so that I can switch between front, front and rear, crab and rear steer from the tx. Easy to set up as it's there in the mix settings.
  20. That's exactly where I got mine. Had the stock notification, arrived in 24 hours!
  21. Two Hard black chassis, one for the Tt-02b and one for the TT-02R. Certainly feels a lot stiffer in the hand.. Fnar Fnar.. 😉
  22. I think the Tt-02b is pretty good, start with the silver can as it'll not stress the diffs and upgrade as and when. Mine started out as standard and now has the DF-02 metal diffs, aluminium steering and alloy prop shaft and flies on a 13.5t brushless with a Lipo.. Actually a little to much! So now it is powered by a Hobbywing 1060 and a 19t Double Brushed. Diff issues only really appear if you slam it into reverse from full forward or go full throttle from a standing start on a grippy service. It really could do with a slipper but it's not really a race buggy to be fair. As others have said ground clearance can be an issue but Df-03 wheels (2.2) with appropriate tyres lift it enough for longer than cut grass, dirt etc. You can always move the shocks towards the chassis to lift it further if need be. An important thing to remember is that spares are cheap and plentiful plus there are carbon reinforced arms and gearbox covers from Tamiya if you do go down the rocket ship route.. 😉
  23. It would be... If you had three hands... 😁
