  1. Good spot. I love Lego Star Wars
  2. @Phil_H Can you post a link to the foam's with the mixed compound please, I need some Thanks
  3. Looking forward to the rise of the TT02's, mine is coming together nicely. Just need to decide on electronics and I might even get a few test run's with it this weekend.
  4. The forum changed the word which is the name of the place the people who have invisible friends think the bad people end up. Surprising but the badword works rather well
  5. Good work on the borderline hording Jason, I suddenly don't feel so bad I luckily managed to get my mitts on a Mugen body but it's strictly for shelf duty, absolute sweetness . For info the smallest spur I could find is part number 50506, if you find a smaller one please let me know. I have 5 built chassis waiting on an electronics decision, it's actually quite a conundrum And my sincere condolences for your loss, those cap packs made one badword of bang.
  6. Awesome run Phil and well deserved top spot I'm waiting on some parts after last weeks gearbox meltdown so you've got at least a week before you have to worry about my FF03 again. This is getting really interesting! I'm curious too see what Macinnis manages with his TT02 buggy and also what Wooders has up his sleeve, I don't think it will be long till 60 is is the entry point for the top 10. Big congrats to Jason for breaking 60Mph, hitting that number with such limited gearing options is a significant achievement. What ESC are using bud? and was it cutting out after every run? Thinking you may have some untapped oomph!
  7. Nice work Phil, did the body cut make a difference?
  8. That guy knows what it takes Check out the gearing........
  9. I'd say just general wear and tear, what you think? Not just yet bud, I'm thinking it's done at 80 And I'm sure you will break 60 soon, so so close. Coincidentally I have the 5700kv Castle 4 pole in the RS4, it's truly monstrous.
  10. Stripped down the FF03 and apart from the obvious damage the counter gear has welded itself to the shaft and melted the case, another parts order! lol
  11. ......... Wooders Awesome work again bud and you really do need to find somewhere bigger to run I wouldn't give up on the motor as it's much more likely that the KV is increasing a little as you show it who the boss is Here's my RS4 pass:
  12. Was out again today with the FF03 but still no good run . I had just got it handling nice after a few traditional high speed tumbles when the shaft that the spur attaches to seized up, I'm looking forward to seeing the carnage when I get to take it apart. It wasn't all bad as I did smash my personal best using my HPI Sport 3 with an 88.7Mph run (3s and 5700Kv). Was absolutely ecstatic especially as my friend had just beat my best time by pulling a 84Mph run from nowhere. His previous best was 65Mph I'm thinking about a similar setup for my TT02 project.......
  13. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Black-Double-Automotive-Number-Plates/dp/B009IQCF9G/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1497471067&sr=8-4&keywords=automotive+foam+tape
  14. I think your tyres will be the main culprit as they tend to be at the limit around 60Mph and are probably ballooning like crazy. You could look at taping them on the inside or ideally switch to foams, if they do fit you will be amazed with the difference. Go for very hard suspension at the back and very soft up front also run a good amount of toe-out up front with 0 to -1 camber and -1 camber in the back, it should help with the lifting a little and make it run a lot straighter. I wouldn't give up on the wing just yet and would try experimenting with different ones, perhaps even add one to the front
  15. Best of British bud I would offer up some setup thoughts but I'm sure you got it covered. It's surprising how much difference a small change can make when your at speed and very satisfying when it pays off. My parts for the FF03 finally turned up so I'm hoping to be back out on the weekend and I may have accidentally bought a TT02 on ebay
  16. Nothing other than mentioned, it's 8.5mm at the front and 10mm at the rear. There is actually quite a lot of adjustment available, XV Pilot aka Tamiya Ninja pointed me in the direction of spacer in the front assembly that could be swapped and the rear has three different axle mount points plus the motor mount spacer I removed.
  17. Bit late to the party and hope that you get the shipping sorted out soon. Import tax is applied to anything over £20 including the postage cost, nothing worse than getting something in just over and paying the crazy handling fee! RC Mart are the masters of the $10 parcel....... I've been playing with my F103Gt and was very surprised with the ground clearance achieved. It has a Tamiya F104 motor mount with no chassis spacers and the axle in the lowest mounting point, I will need to get it sitting a little lower for speed runs
  18. 72.4Mph, I'm trying for 75+ with the current gearing (48pitch 66/40). It will be shelved after that, but probably not for long the way things are moving I'm not going to get the gearing I was hoping for on the F103Gt but it should still be fun to see what it does. I got a Nissan R390 shell for it so hopefully Jason won't mind seeing it do the tumble
  19. Awesome work, has to be a world record for plastic bearings. There are quite a few really fast cars coming together and it's going to make hitting the top 10 very tough soon I was out again but another fail day and a wait for RC Mart before I can run again. That's the third time in a row........ I'm keen to get a clean run so I can post a better speed, retire the FF03 and work on the F103GT. Maybe next time
  20. Thought i'd share some 2s battery testing that I did with the FF03. I knew that higher discharge and more milliamps hours would make a difference but was very impressed by the actual results. NanoTech 6000Mah: 65-130c = 52.1Mph. NanoTech Ultimate 6000Mah: 90C = 56.2Mph. NanoTech Ultimate 7500Mah: 90C =59.3Mph. Admittedly the gains are more than you would get from an average 2s set up due to the high KV of the motor (9550kv) but the numbers speak for themselves
  21. Nice work on making the top 10 Phil I use the 37Sh Contacts also, I'm gonna try harder ones next time I order. I agree, 5300Kv is actually quite a lot for 3S. My man math says that 50-55 is about right for your 9T setup so I would run the 9T with a slightly bigger pinion and see what happens. I'm still in awe of the shinny thing and the F103Gt is getting the speed treatment next.... but maybe after I'm done with it I was out again yesterday, awesome day but too windy (again) and had a tumble with the FF03 that ended in a broken Hub Carrier. It's a carbon reinforced part and I was surprised it broke with such a small impact. It wasn't a total fail though as I increased my PB by 1.3Mph with my 3s HPI Sport 3 to 78.3Mph, only 9.7Mph to go! The car is already fixed and I should be back out again over the weekend.
  22. Built the 419x last night, don't think I could handle seeing it tumbling down the road. I also got the parts to fix the FF03 so game on for the weekend
  23. Macinnis, it will solve the issue I was amazed how fast you got with the 1500mah, hence my comment about smashing 60 when you get a decant battery. Get the biggest MAH, highest discharge battery that you can shoe horn in there and then run the smallest spur and biggest pinion and hope it holds
  24. Nice work on the run Phil (and the motor hording), which foams did you go for? I started building the F103GT this morning, think it's gonna be good
  25. Awesome run dude, the car looked like it was well planted! Get yourself a decant battery and you will smash the 60 barrier I was surprised myself with the adrenaline buzz, it's the closest I've come to the feeling I get as I'm lining up to run the 1/1 round the track
