  1. I have a few projects going on at the moment and I've been meaning to start a build thread for a while. I will post about the cars as I'm working on them, some may take much longer than others and some may never get finished . Here's what I currently have in the fleet, if anyone would like to see or ask a question about a specific car just shout. TT01 - Countersteer drift car. TA02 SW - Built chassis intended as a shelf queen but I messed up the body so need to buy another. Bruiser - Part assembled for almost a year. CC01 - Built chassis (stalled camera car project). TA02 SW - 40th Anniversary still in box. FF03 - Speed run car (*worlds fastest FF03 82Mph) F103 GT - Built chassis with Mugen body currently a shelf queen but intended for speed runs. TRF 419x - Built chassis planned for 17.5T blinky club racing. M05r vII - In progress. TT02 - Stalled speed project, either TT02s conversion or shelf. TB04 Evo IV - Silver can challenge car, current fastest silver can powered Tamiya at (44.8Mph) TRF 418 - Speed run project car going for triple digits and current fastest Tamiya Club Car (85.5Mph) (94.8Mph) I'll start with the M05. I'm working on a Swift body for it and at the decal stage but need to visit my friend and get some more vinyl cut but here it is as of today. It's a V2 R kit with lots of nice Hop Ups included from Tamiya so the only additional parts are carbon towers, hollow carbon gear shaft and 3Racing graphite side trays. I ordered the towers before I built the car and have discovered that the front tower is completely pointless. I just noticed that to fit the 3Racing side trays I need to drill the chassis holes for the mount to sit flush . The pointless front shock tower: The side tray problem: Chassis: It was a nice build overall and I'm very much looking forward to running it. My current plan is to finish the body and then decide on the motor but at the moment I'm thinking about a 2s, 3.5T setup . EDIT *Wild claims relating to having the worlds fastest 2s FF03 are to the best of my knowledge correct at time of posting.
  2. Nice and good luck with the build, I have one that I'm thinking about converting to TT02S Spec. What motor and ESC are you going to be using? Noticed that it appears that you have hidden all the pinion sizes in the picture
  3. Thanks Full disclosure this time bud Get a tiny spur and go for 50Mph!
  4. Just a Silver Can entry, I haven't run the 418 again yet Tamiya TB04 Evo IV 44.8Mph - 72Kmh Castle Sidewinder 3 Johnson Silver Can 3S Lipo 48dp, 64t Spur/ 47t Pinion Tamiya Rubber Tyres I hit 45Mph dead on another run but the video wasn't as good, I think 50Mph+ may be possible with the all mighty silver can
  5. Indeed , and not 418 related tomorrow or the next day for the big attempt.
  6. M chassis love I painted my Swift yesterday just need to do the decals. I had a good RC day and a very bad RC day, this happened whilst I was testing a new motor on the table. I pooed myself, was very lucky it didn't spread . The good bit to follow
  7. Andy, Did you get my pm? Thanks
  8. Sorry bud I couldn't resit when the other run was so close I promise that's it although I do plan to put a bigger pinion on and try for over 40. Get some bigger gearing and get back out there
  9. Nice Phil but I got one just slightly better Silver Can entry: Tamiya TB04 Evo IV 38.7Mph - 62.2Kmh Castle Sidewinder 3 3S Lipo 48dp, 64t Spur/ 40t Pinion Tamiya Rubber Tyres
  10. Would like to see it It could of just overheated and died due to Wooders grade abuse, I may still go to 4s . Was thinking about dry ice earlier..... Did you get a run in and the fizz on film?
  11. Very nice and cheap too but I love the smell of a hot sliver can in the morning so thumbs down from me.
  12. It couldn't be any closer Just wait for a windy day I'll send you a fresh can if needed. On my first FF03 run yesterday the front foam tyres let go and launched the car into my mates camera. It was the Matrix ones which up until then had been very good, I think they must have got damaged in the last big tumble.
  13. the sunshine It look's like it's going well! Add the details to your video post it should be eligible for an entry. Would move you to tenth place overall
  14. I ran the 418 today but just some gentle test pulls to get some log data as I was worried about motor temps. The logs look good and it drives lovely so I plan top go back out on Tuesday and give it hammering I did have an awesome few runs with my FF03 and set a new front wheel drive and 2s record. Chuffed to bits as I never thought it would go so fast when I started working on it, it could be the fastest FF03 in the world Anyway... FWD Speed Run Entry FF03 82Mph - 131.9Kmh Hobbywing v3.1 120 Amp Hobbywing 3.5T Motor 2s Lipo (7500 Mah 90c) 48dp, Spur 60t - 41t Pinion Contact Foam Tyres
  15. 36.6Mph is 58.9Kmh Silver Can entry, Tamiya TB04 Evo IV 36.8Mph - 59.2Kmh Castle Sidewinder 3 3S Lipo 48dp, 64t Spur/ 40t Pinion Tamiya Rubber Tyres @Phil_H .2Mph No smoke from my motor just a toasty smell
  16. Eagerly awaiting the video
  17. What's everyone else working on? I don't have a plan yet although I've been thinking about 4S. I had a quick look and I couldn't find any info on running them on high voltage, anyone got any knowledge or links?
  18. Hopefully tomorrow, it's gonna be scary Good luck with the silver can run and looking forward to seeing the CT up on two wheels!
  19. Protoform Mazda 6 body for the 418. it's ready to go for a record attempt
  20. I had my money on on the one with the caution hot sticker I have a couple of each type so when I get round to putting an entry in i'll swap them over and see if it's measurable. Been pricing up the parts to convert the TT02 to S spec and it's going to be over £80 plus postage and I'm thinking I might just log a speed as it is and sell the chassis on hmmmm .
  21. Yes please, and a link to the body shell if possible would be awesome. I have one also that I intend to club race at some point . I have just added semi functional bling so far but I think will be picking up a gear diff and some heavy oil to give it a try.
  22. Are all silver cans created equal?
  23. It's definitely becoming very useful reference info and I really like the diversity of all the entries. It would be a shame to discourage that
  24. https://www.modelrockets.co.uk/shop/mobile/klima-model-rocket-motors/c6-six-pack-18mm-rocket-booster-motor-mp-3333.html Hmmmm, six pack with second stage
