  1. I have a few projects going on at the moment and I've been meaning to start a build thread for a while.  I will post about the cars as I'm working on them, some may take much longer than others and some may never get finished .

Here's what I currently have in the fleet, if anyone would like to see or ask a question about a specific car just shout.

    TT01  - Countersteer drift car.
TA02 SW - Built chassis intended as a shelf queen but I messed up the body so need to buy another.
Bruiser - Part assembled for almost a year.
CC01 - Built chassis (stalled camera car project).
TA02 SW - 40th Anniversary still in box.
    FF03 - Speed run car (*worlds fastest FF03 82Mph)
F103 GT - Built chassis with Mugen body currently a shelf queen but intended for speed runs.
TRF 419x - Built chassis planned for 17.5T blinky club racing.
    M05r vII - In progress.
TT02 - Stalled speed project, either TT02s conversion or shelf.
TB04 Evo IV - Silver can challenge car, current fastest silver can powered Tamiya at (44.8Mph)
TRF 418 - Speed run project car going for triple digits and current fastest Tamiya Club Car (85.5Mph)  (94.8Mph)

I'll start with the M05. I'm working on a Swift body for it and at the decal stage but need to visit my friend and get some more vinyl cut but here it is as of today.

It's a V2 R kit with lots of nice Hop Ups included from Tamiya so the only additional parts are carbon towers, hollow carbon gear shaft and 3Racing graphite side trays. I ordered the towers before I built the car and have discovered that the front tower is completely pointless.  I just noticed that to fit the 3Racing side trays I need to drill the chassis holes for the mount to sit flush .

    The pointless front shock tower:

    The side tray problem:

    Chassis:

    m05r v2

It was a nice build overall and I'm very much looking forward to running it.  My current plan is to finish the body and then decide on the motor but at the moment I'm thinking about a 2s, 3.5T setup :)

    EDIT

*Wild claims relating to having the worlds fastest 2s FF03  are to the best of my knowledge correct at time of posting.

Thanks. I got a TT02R chassis kit, with intentions of running it as RWD.

Nice and good luck with the build, I have one that I'm thinking about converting to TT02S Spec.  What motor and ESC are you going to be using?

Noticed that it appears that you have hidden all the pinion sizes in the picture

Glad my run was aborted today, I'd have not been happy at being wiped out again minutes after uploading

I geared up from 40t to 45t, but I think my motor is not performing since the last run as got exactly the same, and then a shock removed itself. I was going for 40+...may have to get a smaller spur now as well to get closer to 45!

    Nice run

    Thanks :)

I hit 45Mph dead on another run but the video wasn't as good

Full disclosure this time bud   Get a tiny spur and go for 50Mph!

Just a Silver Can entry, I haven't run the 418 again yet :)

    Tamiya TB04 Evo IV
    44.8Mph - 72Kmh
    Castle Sidewinder 3
    Johnson Silver Can
    3S Lipo
    48dp, 64t Spur/ 47t Pinion
    Tamiya Rubber Tyres

I hit 45Mph dead on another run but the video wasn't as good, I think 50Mph+ may be possible with the all mighty silver can

Looks like the limit for a 540 is 3S then .............

It could of just overheated and died due to Wooders grade abuse, I may still go to 4s .   Was thinking about dry ice earlier.....

Managed to get a couple of lipo packs through, then a 3s and 2 x 2s packs back to back before the boomerang motor went fizz

Did you get a run in and the fizz on film?

My SAT Nav goes to 1 decimal place, may have to run again with the Sat Nav. Although the Silver Can may have been destroyed, i'll bath it later and give it a go.

It couldn't be any closer :)  Just wait for a windy day

I'll send you a fresh can if needed.

On my first FF03 run yesterday the front foam tyres let go and launched the car into my mates camera. It was the Matrix ones which up until then had been very good, I think they must have got damaged in the last big tumble.

  7. I ran the 418 today but just some gentle test pulls to get some log data as I was worried about motor temps.  The logs look good and it drives lovely so I plan top go back out on Tuesday and give it hammering :)

I did have an awesome few runs with my FF03 and set a new front wheel drive and 2s record. Chuffed to bits as I never thought it would go so fast when I started working on it, it could be the fastest FF03 in the world   Anyway...

    FWD Speed Run Entry
    FF03
    82Mph - 131.9Kmh
    Hobbywing v3.1 120 Amp
    Hobbywing 3.5T Motor
    2s Lipo :D (7500 Mah 90c)
    48dp, Spur 60t - 41t Pinion
    Contact Foam Tyres

The Early 'Johnson' ones had a few more RPM's, but less torque...but by the looks of it there is not much in it.

I had my money on on the one with the caution hot sticker   I have a couple of each type so when I get round to putting an entry in i'll swap them over and see if it's measurable.

Been pricing up the parts to convert the TT02 to S spec and it's going to be over £80 plus postage and I'm thinking I might just log a speed as it is and sell the chassis on hmmmm .

If you want to see things under the hood, I'd be more than happy to post pics for you here :)

Yes please, and a link to the body shell if possible would be awesome.

I have one also that I intend to club race at some point B).  I have just added semi functional bling so far but I think will be picking up a gear diff and some heavy oil to give it a try.
