  1. Nice haul today. LRP Twister for messing about at the local track with the kids (I hope it will be a little more sturdy than the DT02s we seem to wreck every time we're there). LRP 21.5t brushless motor, brand new LRP brushless esc, new TBLE02s and a used hobbywing WP SC8.
  2. Thanks! The Proline the Edge look good for the front, might go wih those. Not sure for the back yet.
  3. I have recently aquired a used Nissan King cab in good shape, the tires need to be replaced though. Seeing as I can't seem to find exact replacements anywhere, could somebody point me to some readily available tires that would fit and look the part?
  4. On a Lighter Note, the postman brought me this today, aqured for a very acceptable sum of money. A very quick check shows that it could do with some new front tires and of course a new body would be nice for the shelf. Does anybody know if TBG make a fitting body?
  5. Yep. It's a 206 body for the TA03F-S. And of course you are absolutely right that it won't fit,as I just found out myself. Isn't it always better to do your research first before you go "oh, that's nice!" 》click《 . Silly me. When I quickly looked at the offer, I thought S was for "sport"
  6. Nice used TA03F arrived today. My first belt driven car! There's a Peugeot 206 WRC body and wheels in the post that will look quite nice on it I think.
  7. I did manage to do something Tamiya: With the addition of the mirrors, my FF01 resto is officialy finished Before After
  8. Had a bit of a non-tamiya day today. I recently bought a used HPI Maverick Strada DC EVO. Wanting to have a go at drifting, I was looking at a TT02 d when this came up on ebay. Can't go wrong at under 40€ rtr I thought and what arrived looked quite nice with a 22t motor, oil filled shocks and an alloy upper deck. I didn't like the body at all though, so I swapped it for a cheap Chinese one for the moment Also, after visiting the local track last weekend and hitting the borders a lot with my Dirt Thrasher (loads of fun and pretty fast with the goolrc 21t motor and ESC combo though) I had the mad idea that I really need an RC10 for track use. Not wanting to spend loads of money in the latest b6.1 (probably wasted in my talent anyway), I bid on a used b4.1 complete with a 7.5t brushless system and novak servo. Looking forward to See how this performs at the weekend!
  9. Finished the body on my BSR M.Rage tonight. Unfortunately, the kit decals are rubbish! Still, a great little car for 65€.

    T3Shop

I've ordered small things such as tires and such from them with no problems. One of the members of my club actually knows the owner personally and recommended the online shop to me. Should be safe to go for it! I might do too actually (or go for the FF03 chassis that's in offer )
  11. Having a few days off over Easter means I actually have some real time to get on with some projects. Today I stripped and cleaned a FF01 and was happy to find it fitted with a complete set of ball bearings. Planning to rebuild it as a Honda Civic. I masked the shell for a BSR M.Rage, will hopefully paint it tomorrow. Then I finished this Yay! Boy Racer!
  12. Today I finished the Hotshot II I started restoring 1 year ago! The TBG body was the last thing to do. Last year, @Tamiyabigstuff helped me out with some missing parts at a very fair price, so I'll use the opportunity to say many thanks!! Looking good next to the Boomerang
  13. The front wheels are from the Carson all-terrain wheel set for the DT02 (the set looks great and doesn't cost much) the rear wheels were lying around in my spare wheel box and were chosen by my 4 year old "cos they're big and chunky, Dad!"
  14. Strictly yesterday, nur Flickr wouldn't upload. Finished off the body in my vintage Boomerang rebuild. New body, one or two broken parts that needed relplacing and is now running with a Goolrc 21t motor and ESC. Left the interesting looking metal shocks on. Then I had a very fun time racing around a makeshift track in the back garden with my boys. My 9 year old actually beat me fair and square as my Novafox with sport tuned motor turned out to be virtually unsteerable due to immediate wheelies when accelerating! I got the best air time on the ramp, though 4 Year old 9 Year old Dad😁
  15. Some missing parts for my Porsche 959 resto arrived Now all that is really missing is the front body mount stay (part 4315004). That said - could anybody post a photo of one next to a ruler for scale? Then I'll make one myself 😁
  16. With warmer weather here, my son and I finally got round to finishing his new body for bis DT02. He insisted on flourescent green and he backed that with silver and then white. Didn't think it would go with the colour of the decals but I really like the result. Best of all, my son is chuffed that he managed everything with only minimal help from me.
  17. Here goes: Super Hornet, Frog rere, Boomerang, Hotshot 2, Voltec fighter, Thunder Blitz, MF01X Jimny, CC01 Toyota F40, High-Lift F150, Monster Beetle rere, Novafox, Super Blackfoot, Desert Gator, DF03 MS, TT02 Porsche, TB01 Ford Focus, FF01 Golf, M03 Suzuki Swift, Fighter buggy rx, 2x Grasshopper, Tl01b, TA02, Dual Hunter, Wild Willy 2, SandScorcher/Grasshopper Hybrid, 3(!) Strikers, Sonic fighter, Falcon, Dirt thrasher, Porsche 959, QD DTM Mercedes Sons: Lunch box,2x DT02 Non Tamiya: BSR M.Rage, Kyosho Ultima SC AND that really cool Lego crawler thingy Too many. My wife IS right!
  18. I had an amazing day racing 1:8 gocarts at the local club of which I am now a proud member. One of the members was kind enough to lend me one for the day. Not so easy to steer, just a touch too much acceleration and the rear end kicks out. I ended up third after the preliminary heats, damage to the steering after a crash saw me out of the finals though. My son had a go in the practice breaks and soon had the hang of it, we had fun watching the M-chassis and Mini-4WD races and had a sausage and chips for lunch - what more can you ask for?
  19. A nice little haul for a nice small price including a FF01 in very nice shape with a pretty battered Golf body, a futaba attack remote and best of all a Wild Willy 2 Took the Wild Willy apart this evening. I'll go for a new body as this one is pretty damaged, the rest will be in good enough shape for a runner after a good cleanup.
  20. Thanks for the compliment! Probably the only way to avoid the darker base colour shining through would be to mask out the area the decals are going to be placed and re-base that in white. Frankly too much effort for me though. Striker No. 2 was created by mixing the least worn parts I had from my initial shopping binge. No extra costs there!
  21. OK, this has taken quite a bit since the last update. I wasn't happy initially with the white decals on Striker No. 2 - just not white enough on the blue background - so I sort of lost interest and moved on to other projects. Got round to finishing it now though No. 1 and 2 side by side:
  22. Today I did this I'm not quite sure where this is headed...
  23. I've found them in the gearboxes of my vintage Hotshot II, Porsche 959 and now in my vintage Boomerang: C-Rings. For me a pain to remove, they usually either fly across the room or end up getting bent. So here are my questions: Is there a decent way of removing these things? Can I get spares? Does anyone have a parts number? Thanks for the help!
  24. Yes! Not quite as good as the lovely yellow one we both have.
  25. Not Tamiya, but I recieved this in the post yesterday The local club has a 4WD mini class running with 21.5T brushless, so I'm looking forward to taking part sometime soon. The body included in the box looks nicer than I expected, but I also have an old Mini body that I might try out.
