  1. TRX4 is one of the best kits I've ever built. Completely enjoyable build. They pre-threadlock the screws that go into metal with blue loctite so you don't have to fumble with your own threadlock!
  2. I finished my Monster Beetle and took it for a spin. Fun car to drive, for sure! Untitled by Joe, on Flickr Untitled by Joe, on Flickr Untitled by Joe, on Flickr Untitled by Joe, on Flickr
  3. Another vote for the aluminum suspension arm holders. IMO it's the most important upgrade.
  4. I melted a new set of Monster Beetle with paint stripper. Oops.
  5. I can't offer any more advice that's already been said, but I can say your username is awesome.
  6. Yep, I've had no issues with the gearbox at all. Its very fast!
  7. I run a 7.5T brushless in my blitzer beetle, with lipo. It's my favorite car to run. The gearbox handles brushless fine.
  8. Dropping off this Monster Beetle body I painted for a forum member here. Patina and rust. Untitled by Joe, on Flickr Untitled by Joe, on Flickr Untitled by Joe, on Flickr
  9. Blitzer Beetle for me. Untitled by Joe, on Flickr
  10. Weakened immune system from cancer and the virus probably pushed him over the edge would be my assumption. People getting cancer treatments are susceptible to getting sick from chemotherapy wrecking havoc on your immunity. When my wife had breast cancer she had to get a shot after each treatment to help boost her immune system. Thankfully 9 years out she’s in good health. Someone getting the virus who already weakened by cancer treatments would be in a dangerous place. It may be just the “common flu” to some people, but to others already struggling with a pre-existing condition it’s deadly.
  11. common flu doesn't kill 100k people in three months with major lockdowns. I know people that have had to say goodbye to their love ones via facetime. We've had nursing homes in our area storing bodies because they've run out of room. Why do you assume the death rate is below what's on the news? What's your source? Is Brazil dealing with propaganda too? Italy? Germany? Japan? Is it a worldwide conspiracy?
  12. Took my MF-01X out for a run. Untitled by Joe, on Flickr Untitled by Joe, on Flickr Untitled by Joe, on Flickr
  13. Think of it as supporting the economy! Ha!
  14. A four wheel drive beetle just didn't seem right to me. RWD and rear motor is a lot more fun with a Beetle!
  15. I love my MF-01x. I left the drive shaft out so it's strictly RWD. Fun sliding it around and getting sideways! Untitled by Joe, on Flickr
  16. I bugged my 10 year old daughter to take some pics of my Blitzer Beetle while I drove it. She did pretty good! Untitled by Joe, on Flickr Untitled by Joe, on Flickr
  17. I want to see some pics of your garden raceway! I love hearing about all these back garden tracks people are setting up during the lockdown!
  18. You never heard a low voltage alarm with NiMh because they're not as sensitive as Lipo. If you drain a Lipo down completely you can ruin it. Nimh doesn't matter. I have the same ESC in my Blitzer Beetle with Lipo but I don't remember if you need to to set it to lipo mode or not. I don't think you have to. Check the set up instructions online for that esc to double check. Other than that you should be able to plug the lipo in and rip! Lipo's are a little bit more maintenance but they're worth it!
  19. I don't know if it's critical, but I like it. The spur gear with the slipper clutch is 48p so you can switch to 48p pinions too, which are more common. Other brands of spurs with slipper clutches are compatible too.
  20. Monster Beetle arrived! Untitled by Joe, on Flickr
  21. They're not the prettiest but they look functional enough.
  22. I love the beach. I've lived my entire life in NJ and going to the beach has always been a part of it, but I'm sitting this out for the time being. I'll see how things are in a month or so and re-evaluate.
  23. One thing I've notices after being on many forums of varying topics and interests, Tamiya Club is the most laid back and "jerk" free forums I've ever been a member of. The vibe is super friendly.
  24. Nice score! for 30 bucks!
