  1. Most of them came from Tesco but they are by Wham (nothing to do with the 80's pop sensations though as far as I know). They do various sizes, I have a mixture of lower profile (32 litre I think) for buggies and taller ones (can't remember the size) for King Yellow, Lunchbox etc. I also have another, in-between, size that houses a Wild Willy 2 quite nicely. There are also a couple of Keter (I think) "crocodile" boxes that my Monster Beetle and Blackfoot live in. In one of the pics, on a lower shelf, are some IKEA Samla (70 litre I think) boxes that are nice and low profile but big enough to hold 2 buggies side by side. If the sides were vertical instead of slightly angled I think I could get 3 buggies in them.
  2. Not just today but over the last couple of weeks or so, I've reorganised the room I keep my cars in. I've added some shelving units and a nice big workbench. I didn't take any "before" pictures, mainly because it was barely possible to get in the door! Now it looks like this... Still a bit more sorting to do and some bits to sell off but at least now I have somewhere to work that isn't a fold up table.
  3. Ooh I think these might look nice on my CC-01 Hi-Lux Extra Cab. But I'd only need 4, and as I've not opened the box yet I'm not even sure what size wheels it has lol
  4. Funny enough, I ordered some very similar racking from Amazon myself last week. Put it together last weekend and am quite pleased with it so far.
  5. Well the definition of "finish a build" might be a bit fuzzy. A more accurate way of saying it would be "Typically, when I get to a point in a build where I don't need to go back in the box. E.g. I'm at the body painting stage..."
  6. So, what's the general consensus on keeping kit boxes once the kit is built? I still have the boxes for all of the new kits I've built in the last couple if years. I also have a couple that came with models bought second hand. Typically, when I finish a build I leave the left over parts and screws in the box, with the manual etc, and put the box on a shelf. But they take up a chunk of space so I've found myself thinking of what else I can do with them. Only 2 are vintage (Top Force and RC10 Team Car) the rest are either newer models or re-releases. So I don't think they really have any value themselves, nor add much (if any) value to the respective models. As we all know some of them, especially the re-release or vintage boxes, have the fantastic artwork on them. For those it seems a shame to send them to recycling. What do other people do?
  7. You could say it took off. I'll get my coat
  8. Front prop joint of the Egress/Avante 2001/Vanquish is longer than the Avante one to allow for the longer wheelbase.
  9. 41 currently, 42 in the summer. So wayyyyy younger than @jonboy1
  10. They are like caged animals at the minute. At times I feel like I'm just here to count pinfalls and submissions!
  11. Sat down to start building my CC-01 Hi Lux. Took the plastic wrap off the kit box and dug the manual out of the box. Started reading through the manual to see what was to come, got interrupted by the kids twice in less than 5 minutes. Took that as a sign of how things were going to go so packed everything away again
  12. This was just delivered from Tony's Tamiya Parts
  13. This arrived today from Tamico The Hi-Lux Extra Cab, paint for the body and some masking supplies. The kit itself was a good price at €149.99
  14. I have memories of having watched that same film when I was a kid - but I had no idea what it was called until now. Thanks!
  15. Well you've just cost me 15 quid lol I'll probably be able to sell my 2 channel on once the new one arrives.
  16. I seem to have developed an interest in a trail runner/mild crawler, for trundling about in the garden. Got intrigued by the Carisma Range Rover, then thought a CC-01 Defender might suit me better. Then I thought "ooh the CC-01 Bronco looks quite nice". Also the Bronco body looked simpler than the Defender. Found the Bronco in stock at Tamico. So I ended up ordering a Toyota Hi-Lux Extra Can The Toyota is €149.99 at Tamico. Even with paint, some masking supplies and courier shipping (due to the paint) it's come out cheaper than the kit alone in the UK. So the thoughts of a simpler body have gone out the window. I might have to send it to @jonboy1 for paint and stickers - he likes cutting decals out
  17. Thanks all. Not decided to get either yet, but I am leaning more towards the CC-01. But, I'm now debating Bronco or Defender
  18. Thanks for the info. Maybe the CC-01 is more for me. You know where you are with Tamiya. Plus it's a fair bit cheaper.
  19. @markbt73 it was the Carisma kit I was looking at. Doesn't sound like a fun build though from what you've said.
  20. Any opinions on the CC-01 Defender Vs the Carisma Range Rover? Not looking for serious crawling ability. Just something for a sedate trundle around the garden or along a trail.
  21. Nah, that would be like Top Gear getting rid of Jeremy Clarks...oops!
