Hello all,
New to Tamiya but not RC I have had RC cars on and off for years, my last stint being Nitro about 8 years ago. I lost interest because I am a useless driver and kept breaking it!
Now here I am 3 kids later and impulse buy of a Lunchbox from face book for £40! All works and I love it, it has the Tamiya sport motor upgrade on it so pretty quick.
At this stage I have no plans to do anything with it other than play with it, but I have some questions.
- What is the best battery and charger to get?
- How water resistant are they? (is wet grass ok?)
I have attached pic for your viewing pleasure
Very nice Lunchbox you have there at a bargain price! I have just purchased one of the good old eBay, which should be here by the end of this week

Hi Super Gripper,
What wheel and tyre set up are you using, love the overall look of your Mad Bull!
Maybe you could check out my Mad Bull project thread?

Looks fantastic. The painting is where I usually lose patience and rush to get out and run it. Yours goes to show what happens when you take your time. Nice job.
Thank you, not bad for my first one! At a guess the shell took me between 2-3 hours, slowly building the layers up and drying with a hair dryer. I am really pleased with the outcome still need to tweak and get my decals on though

Body Update:
Really enjoyed spending the day painting this today, my first ever one! Still got a few more tweaks to add which includes a custom decal set from MCI Racing in Canada.

Welcome to TC Owain! Good job on your restoration so far! Some of your pics look squished, though?
Who doesn't love the Mad Bull?!

Hi Greg, thank you for the welcome and the comments on the build so far!
Some of the pics looked squashed due to re sizing them for file size.

Thank you, I've been planning the shell and wheel combo on some blank printed photos! I'll post some up as soon as possible

They arent standard. Torque tuned motors in 2. Sports tuned in the other. 1 has CVA oil shocks. 1 has alloy oil shocks and the 3rd is on friction shocks. 2 are running Hobbywing 1060s and the other is on a Tamiya TLBE02s. 2 have the standard steering rod covered with heat shrink and the 3rd has a custom steering link.
Nice, I have a Hobbywing 1060 in my Rising Fighter! Ill be ordering another one for this as well, you got any photos ?

Gotta love a Madbull. Got 3 in my house for the kids but i love running them as much as they do.
I have not actually run mine yet, once the build is complete I will then be able to have my first run with it! From what I have heard and see it looks a blast! Are all 3 of your mad bull's standard or have you customised them?

A few update photos below:
Everything that fit went through my ultra sonic cleaner 3-4 times. Prior to this everything got brushed over with a paint brush to get rid of all the sand!
I have dismantled and cleaned all 4 wheels, which lead to me discovering one of the tyres is cracked.
I recently upgraded my Tamiya Rising Fighter shocks to some fancy alloy ones, so the standard ones got dismantled to help with the Mad Bull.
Once everything was cleaned the rebuild begun...........

Looking at the rust on the motor and springs, I would guess that has spent a bit of time at the beach
Yeah definitely, the amount of sand I have cleaned off is unreal!
