It's not copied, it is the B3 (TT owns AE) I do think that they look simmilar to my ThunderTiger DT-10 ball-ends (I was || this close to writing bell-ends at first)

I think the DT-02 gearbox can take a V8, it's incredible...

You can drill out the motor mounting holes by 1/2 mm or so and fit a pinion with one less tooth if the 15t motor should prove to hot for the gearing...

This is a new band I discovered the other day:

HDD Cloning - any experience?
DCLXVI replied to TWINSET's topic in Anything not RC related goes here
I can 100% agree that if you are replacing the motherboard, do a reinstall! I can't stress this enough, you will never get a good installation if you change the system to much for a installed Windows... If you want cloning, just download "Ultimate Boot Disk", burn it to a CD and boot from it and select one of the cloning tools in the HDD menu... Also, the benifits of SSD are quite large in the bigger picture, shorter boot times, load times, shorter wake from power save, quieter, cooler, less taxnig on PSU... -
NO joy trying to solder a Deans Connector. ?
DCLXVI replied to SRB Bloke's topic in General discussions
A good quality soldering station is very nice to have but skill is also important, I had to take a five day course when starting my new job to be allowed to solder by myself, there's a ~400 page book we use to reference how the result sould be for different cables, connectors and other connections...

A >40W iron and ~350-380 deg C with a tip suited for the task is the way to go (small tip for small connectors, large tip for large connectors).

Always heat the material that shall be soldered, never the solder itself (it sould melt against the connector) -
It is, my Desert Gator came with threaded rods (not real turnbuckles though)

TXT-2 overheating...any ideas?
DCLXVI replied to mheald's topic in Monster Trucks, 4x4, Wheelie Rigs and Crawlers
For an external BEC you can just use 5 rechargable batteries or 4 non-rechargables (4 rechargables works to but lowers the performance of the servos) and connect them to the reciver...

Some ESCs needs to have the middle cord of the reciver cable removed (on a Futaba system, I think Acoms or some other manufacturer uses a different order for the servo leads) when using an external BEC/battery -
We had a simmilar thing at home when we framed a picture my oldest son drew and the picture came ascew in the frame and instead of fixing it we put the frame ascew on the wall...

TXT-2 overheating...any ideas?
DCLXVI replied to mheald's topic in Monster Trucks, 4x4, Wheelie Rigs and Crawlers
Two high torque servos could be the fault, they could have enough load to make the BEC in the ESC overheat... You could try using a separate reciver pack or using just one servo and see if the problem persists... -
TA-Mark's Grasshopper/Hornet Chassis Build Thread
DCLXVI replied to TA-Mark's topic in General discussions
I don't think it would make sence measuring the scale of a stadium truck by the width of is as no real vehicles exists to reference against, wheelbase or size of body would be a much better method of comming up with a scale. There are no racing trucks that are 3,2 meters wide but if you'd classify it as a 1:12 or 1:16 (can't be bothered to do the math) the length of the truck would be completly off as the stadium trucks are almost square... EDIT: Now I did the math and (if I did it correctly) the Losi XXX-T MF2 is acually 1:11,4 scale when measured against a 2013 Ford F-150 6,5 ft Style side regual cab (the smallest one)... And that's measuring wheelbase... -
Nice! What axles are those?

RC10 original gold pan re-release - RCCA july 2013
DCLXVI replied to Toykid's topic in Re-Release Discussions
Think this has two explanations: 1. In the US, AE (and others) are domestic brands, a domestic brand will often be more popular especially in the US (look at the 1:1 car industy, historically that is) 2. Some brands penetrate certain areas, UK are aparently Tamiya territory, here in Sweden Kyosho has been very dominant, for every one vintage Tamiya for sale there's atleast ten Kyoshos... -
TA-Mark's Grasshopper/Hornet Chassis Build Thread

I guess the Micro-T/B is 1:36 to the XXX-T's 1:10, IE the XXX-T is "bigger" (wider) than a grasshopper... -
Not Danish, Swedish... The sales campaign in that flyer ended in November 1973 so, yes, the chassi is from '73...

The wheel doesn't fly off, it looks like it but look at the 0:46 mark a few times and you can see that it's stuck to the car but at an awkward angle

Or a drive from Stockholm to Kiruna, Sweden

I think this would be the recommended course of action...
