  1. Hi all, I have just purchased an XC Mu for my nephew. Unfortunately the body does not have the original mounting brackets. I just want a little advice, is the front body bracket the same as on the Pajero, etc and what number sprue does the rear body bracket come on? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Andy
  2. Hi all, I require the front and rear brackets to mount the Isuzu Mu body to my XC chassis. Does anyone know the sprue letter or have the parts to sell? The body also has blank chrome pieces for the headlights. Was there a 'prpoer' light available, similar to the Jeep headlights? Any help would be appreciared. I still need another XC chassis/body for my nephew so anything would be considered. Many Thanks, Andy

  7. Hi, I have an XC original Jeep for sale. Fully ball-raced. NO radio gear. Has BF Goodrich tyres fitted and wheels from the Pajero (white lettering on sidewalls). Body partially stripped of paint. All body parts included. Slioght cracks to front wings but once repaired/glued and painted they won't show. Looking for £130.00 posted paypal as gift. I will try and add photo's. Please PM if you need any further info. I will meet within distance to save postage costs. Many Thanks.
  8. Yes, I have anew in bag sprue of FAV e parts. They look like first issue. i will take photo's and upload for comparrison purposes....a little late to do now!! Loving this thread. Makes the re-re RR and SS thread seem a distant memory, and look what excitement that caused!
  9. Crickey, I never knew the rear gearbox mouldings were different. Is this just an improved version that was fitted to both models at a later date or was one version for the FAV and the other for the Wild One? Which is which by the way?!!
  10. Springs, damper stays...all shiny. Must the 'bling' element! Just noticed the top plastic gearbox mounts are in black also.
  11. It looks like the battery cover underneath is black plastic also? In some ways i'm glad it's different to the original, keeps the original that little bit more vintage and exclusive. So glad it's been re-released though. I have a runner, shefer and new build original but it wouldn't stop me from buying a re-re. I have a 'spare' FAV up for sale, now the re-re appears to be slighrtly different I may just keep it! Those black roll cages would look good on the Wild One too!
  12. Just out of interest really, were the rear round/oval blocks on the rear arms and, the the black front ball joint ends the only differences the original FAV had in its production?
  13. Is this why the later FAV's had an oval block on the side of the rear arms instead of a round block to stoop the rear arms from dropping too much when the car was air-bound, etc. This helped prevent the drive-shafts dropping out of the cups. Please correct me if i'm wrong!!
  14. I raised this ion a post recently. The original photo in the 1984 catalogue also shows the screws but the Fav's I have owned or seen all have the screws sunk into the bonnet. I do have a repro bonnet and that has the screws shown on top like this one? This makes me wonder if the repro was indeed copied from an original that had thw screws showing? Anyone have an original FAV with bonnet screws showing? Either way, the most exciting re-re to date.
  15. CRACKED IT!!! Thanks TWINSET..
  16. Hi, No mate. I have e-mailed Chris but no reply to date......

  19. Hi all. I am in the process of changing my service internet provider. I have amended my new e-mail address in the forums/members section however, I can't get into the log in on the home page? I have clicked on the password reminder but it says my e-mail settings won't allow? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Andy
  20. Hi all, My young Nephew is looking to get into scale crawling so looking for a used, fair priced XC CC-01 chassis. Be nice to have a body with it but radio gear not essential. If you have anything that fits the bill then let me know. Many thanks, Andy
  21. I know I am a big fan of the FAV and Wild One however, I have noticed there appears to have been an increased interest in these two models of late. This is evident in the number being posted in our showrooms. When I last posted an FAV in my showroom the other day, I was surprised at the comments left by fellow members, in fact it was starting to turn into a forum discussion on whether or not the FAV / Wild One should or should not be released! Great comments! It was even sais that due to being re-released, the Sand Scorcher had lost it's 'sting' (great word!). I was just curious if other members had noted this? I don't want this to turn into a re-release for and against topic, it's more of a popularity question. Any thoughts would be welcome... Thanks.
  22. Thanks for the reply. I also checked the othe FAV's in the showrooms and couldn't see the same as in the catalogue. My guess is that it was indeed a prototype. Funny thing is, I have a very good repro bonnetbthat has the same screw holes as the one in the catalogue, all four screws can be seen sdhowing flush with the top of the bonnet. Either this is just the way it has been made or it has been copied from an original somewhere. The plot thickens! Does anyone know of any other major differences found on the FAV over the years? I know the FAV has the shorter front arms as opposed to the Wild One that has longer arms to give a wider track.
  23. Looking through the old Tamiya catalogue the other day, as you do!, and noticed the FAV shows the bonnet screws lying flush with the top of the bonnet. The FAV's i have allows the screws to pass through the hole so you don't see them. Just wondered if there are two versions of the bonnet or the one in the catalogue was prototype version. Just curious that's all! Are there any differences in production over time? I think i read somewhere that the rear wishbones had both round and oval moulds where they hit the metal l-shaped plate? Thanks.
