  1. Hi all, I am lookong at updating one of my Pajeros with wider wheels. I am looking at replacing the drive-shafts with longer shafts at the threaded end where the wheel goes onto. I need the shaft to be approx 1/2" longer to accomodate the wheels. Does anyone know which drive-shafts are longer than the XC without me buying various drive-shafts to see which ones will do the job? Any advice would be appreciated. Many Thanks.
  2. Thanks for that. Better hang onto the money being near christmas, may be some better deals early in the new year!
  3. That's a good point. Fortunately i have two sets of MINT Wrangler wheels. One set of used but good original tyres and a new set of Hummer tyres. When I look at the original Wrangler chassis I think yes, that is the chassis to mount the New Wrangler body on...then I think how good a NIB pajero chassis would look with the body!! The only excact way to do it it to buy a NIB old XC like a Mu. These are cheaper than the NIB wrangler and have all the correct parts, just one problem.....THE COST!!! Is it really justifiable to spend that kind'a money just to have a mint Wrangler? No!! (My wife is very considerate but if she found out would go scranny!!!)
  4. Well, firstly thanks you all for your replies and comments. My first thought is to keep it all original. You don't see many XC's with original items, speedo, etc. Alot of Wranglers on here are new bodies built on Touareg chassis' etc. So, it will either be put on a stripped, cleaned and rebuilt original very good condition XC Wrangler chassis OR buy a new XC Pajero and put the body on that. As you can tell I am still undecided but I think the original concept will be the route I go. I have a further Wrangler used body that I will run on wait for it...a Touareg chassis! so I think original will be the way to go......watch this space!!!
  5. Here's the dialema... I have a new in box Jeep Wrangler body set that I want to mount onto a mint XC chassis. Now the original XC kits produced in the 90's had different screw sets to that of the Touareg and re-release Pajero. The re-release Pajero also has extra markings on some of the parts. I have a very good condition original XC Wrangler chassis, not mint but very good. So, do I use this original 90's XC chassis to mount the Wrangler body on or do I use a NIB chassis from a Touareg or re-re Pajero? Does it matter if the chassis and the components/screws etc aren't the samr as the original? What would you do? Any comments would be appreiated. Many Thanks.
  6. Many thanks for retuning so quickly! I will give it a go and let you know how I get on. Many Thanks, Andy
  7. Hi everyone. I havebeen trying to update my trades and show room but despite being logged in, it doesnt give me the option to change anything? Anyone else having this problem? Am I doing anything wrong?! Any advice would be very appreciated. Many Thanks.
  8. Hi all, I am in the process of restoring a hard body. I have used Halycote Matt Black paint to spray the body. As the paint dries, the surface turns into a white powder looking colour? I have sprayed in the dry, left the parts to dry in a garage but have now used 5 coats on the parts and still the same outcome? Any ideas why? Am i doing anything wrong? Is it the paint? Must add, this is the second tin with same results. Any comments welcome. many thanks.
  9. Hoorah!! I knew they'd be someone else out there that agreed with me! Seriosly, i'm not poking fun at the MBnor wanting to start a heated discussion! I guess i grew up in the Sand Scorcher, Sand Rover era so seeing the VW body on a 'Big Foot' type of chassis just doesn't look right. Everyone to there own right! At least if they do re-re it, they'll be lots of very happy Sand Scorcher owners able to buy a runner body!
  10. Still don't see it!!!
  11. Can anyone tell me...Why does the Monster Beetle attract such a following? With all the re-re threads, the Monster Beetle always has such a high interest? Never thought it was a good lucking buggy the first time around, so what is it about it? Just curious that's all!
  12. Thanks James. Appreciate the advice. Nothing worse than spoiling your hard work of stripping, cleaning and restoring a car with a bad paint job! I'l let you know how i get on. Cheers again.
  13. Many thanks for the replies and advice. Final question!! Can i spray the Tamiya paints straight onto hard FAV/Wild One plastics withour using an undercoat? If not, what undercoat do i need to obsain? Msny Thanks.
  14. Hi all, I am currently in the process of restoring a couple of Fast Attack Vehicles. I am looking at spraying the cars in different colours. One of them will be a matt black. My question is: 'What is the best paint for spraying on all the differenttypes of plastics? Should i apply primer first? I have read somewhere on the site that someone used high temperature heat paint as it 'sticks' better. Can i just used a matt black spray paint that you can get from Halfords?' Sorry about all the questions but i just don't want to spray the chassis and parts only to find all the paint starts to flake off. Look forward to a bit of advice!!! Many Thanks.
  15. That Blazing Blazer is awesome, great condition! Love the pait...would look good on my FAV.
  16. Hi everyone. I am lookng to move the battery from under the chassis of the F350 to the top. I have seen in the tutorials how others have done this by simply turning the battery holder upside down and mounting it in some of the holes in the chassis however, i have tried this and the front cab wil not sit on the chassis/body pins. I'm not taking the truck into deep mud or water, just want a more realistic and clean look. Any advice\would be appreciated. Many Thanks.
  17. Hi all, I have an srb chassis that has hsd minimal usage however, it has had the gearbox painted on the outside. Anyone any ideas on how\to remove the paint without damaging/dulling the metal? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Many thanks.
  18. Hi all, Looking for a mint second hand Holiday Buggy body. Must have no cracks, all accessories and decals too!! I know it's a tall order but this will complete my SRB, Sand Rover & Holiday buggy collection of mint shelfers. I may swop a Sand Rover body for the right body? Cheers.
  19. I may even consider swopping them agains a Super Champ, any condition considered. Many thanks.
  20. I meant Holliday Buggy's!!!! Buffy on the brain!!!
  21. Hi all, I have two Holiday Buffgys that i will not have time to restore si i am looking to sell them on. One has acoms period radio gear, the other doesn't. Both have some body damage, as per! If any one is interested send me a PM and i will forward photos. Many Thanks.
  22. Well, when i found some Clodbuster parts on the bay and compared them to the illustaration in the manual, the lights were attached to the sprue in different places. The square lenses looked diiferent sized squares and one of the sets had like a triangle section missing from the round lights. Wierd indeed! Thanks for your help though....
  23. Photos for your perusal!!! http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll54/CA...k=nav_tab_album Any questions please ask. Many Thanks.
  24. I have decided to part with my Bruiser. I have listed it on e-bay however due to the economic climate it did not reach its reserve. This seems to be the same with everything at the moment as people are more conscious about spending money. Anyway, if anyone is interested in a mint, used no more than 3 times Bruiswer than please PM me. I will try and post a photo connection soon. If no one is interested then it will be summons to the loft...forever!!!!!l Many Thanks.
  25. It looks to me like 'the newbie' is hooked already!!! Asking advice on which ONE to buy and now looking at three!! Oh dear, the RC bug has bitten again!! Good luck with whatever you buy. At least you can enjoy special time with your son and re-live your own memroies. Me, i have the F350 and Hi-Lux and love 'em but the XC Pajero is probably more fun and alot cheaper to run......
