  1. Took me a while to get a technique which I copied from others. Trim decals/stickers as neat as you can to the actual graphic. Have some fine masking tape ( I use Tamiya 6mm) and place sticker adjust masking tape till happy. Tip up and remove half the backing by folding it under the other half. Check alignment one last time before sticking down first half, remove masking and remaining backing then place 2nd half down. On large ones the heat from a hairdryer will help if its got lots of contours. Try a search on UTube and see how others do it. If there are any stickers you dont need in a sheet try them on the lexan offcuts first.
  2. PM away to you.
  3. LOVE that, shell stunning, with a VERY well detailed and suitable driver and the Vanquish Rims......STUNNING, Well Done!
  4. WOW, looks like a project that will keep improving with each generation.
  5. Your personality drives you to perfection and we are all a little in awe of those who have this trait. Enjoy it for what it is and understand that there are lots of us out there who appreciate your attention to detail that we don't have the time/patience/drive to emulate. I know when I am working on ANY problem I am not sure how to resolve i spend hours (sometimes the ones I should be sleeping as well.....) researching and working out exactly how I will do something before attempting to actually do it.
  6. I painted mine and then used black marker to make it look like vents.
  7. One now sold, one remaining. now all gone
  8. These are same as I have to swap / sell. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tamiya-egress-Tyres/283392840196?hash=item41fb879204:g:bikAAOSw~jJccZmo:rk:2:pf:0 New unused ( put on my new vanquish rims last week and NEVER run).
  9. these are the fronts https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Tamiya-Pin-Spike-Front-Tyre-5270-For-4x4-Hotshot-Supershot-NEW/153313726645?hash=item23b235d0b5:g:8X4AAOSwFs1cHmu8:rk:9:pf:0 here are all 4. Note front are narrower than rear (not like the Avante where all 4 are the wide version) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TAMIYA-1-10-pin-spike-tires-set-NEW-avante-super-hotshot-egress/264192460996?hash=item3d831908c4:g:G6MAAOSw~OdVWpLv:rk:21:pf:0
  10. Will look up and get back to you.
  11. I have a brand new never run set of Egress tyres on my Vanquish that I want a set of Pin Spikes aka original. they came on the Vanquish & Supershot and were a hop up (still are) UK based anyone interested in a swap OR do you have a set of Pin Spikes in decent order not needed?
  12. My latest photo after painting the SuperShot
  13. I restored my old trusted basher from my teenage years (Thundershot) and then added a modern ESC and a sport tuned motor with a modern NiMh battery and smashed it up I had to rebuild it again and again......so I learnt pretty quick that vintage stuff is NOT for proper bashing. So I started collecting the vintage stuff and display it in our diner/hallway. Its constantly evolving BUT the idea was to have all the 4WD from the Boomerang to the Fire Dragon as I started with a Boomerang and finished with a Thundershot with EVERY Terra Scorcher upgrade and a few of my own for good measure. I also had a Midnight Pumpkin so I needed a Lunchbox to keep it company. In a nod to 2WD I always loved the Madcap/Astute so when I found locally a MadCap I got one and somehow ended up with 3!!! so one is for converting to a Saint Dragon (part done at minute) and will likely sell the 3rd as to convert to an astute is not realistic. I think the Winger is cool and same for the SuperShot (added the body today and decals ordered from MCI as its a re-re being done as original) so added both.....IF i get a Hotshot and a HS2.... I would have all the 4wd covering the first 5 years.....then I would need an Avante.....where does it stop?
  14. cut out and painted my Super Hot Shot. Ordered the SuperShot decals (and Saint Dragon & Midnight Pumpkin as well)
  15. Swept the stoves flue, it was completely blocked at the top so had to climb on the roof and remove the flue vent cover and chip of the creosote/soot build up, then rodded it down the way as well. Then serviced the caravan......**** fridge is not working on Gas, apparently after looking up common faults looks like I am in for a hefty bill on this one!!
  16. try Tony again?
  17. Tamiya Hotshot/Super Hot Shot/Top Force/Brat, 3405029/13405029 7x6mm Hex Mount Quantity: 2 ITEM PRICE: £12.32 ITEM NUMBER:292539191481 SELLER:tonystamiyaparts975 (124978) 100% positive Feedback I also got the step screws with this for the £12.32.
  18. I got from Tonys Tamiya parts on eBay, let me look up the order for you in my purchase history
  19. Just to add to my display case (or my problem!!!!) Got this on eBay as I think its the second sexiest of the vintage 4WD after the Vanquish. The fact I had noticed a set of NIB vanquish rims did not help me resist the urge to bid near double my supposed limit.....just topping £200 with post. Opened the box this am and just started it, see how I got in (not bad in a single day starting at 11 ish AM till now 9 ish PM Used a white paint pen and colour sharpies for the driver. Pretty happy with it. Love the colours and aluminium in this buggy BUT hatted trying to get all the cable ties tight and cut neatly round the mesh in the roll cage !!!!!! WHAT A *******ER of a thing to do....... . and as far as I can go till I get body done. I will order the vintage MCI decals and do it as a Super Shot. So thats the last slot in the Display case filled !!!! erm now what. OH, I could get 2 more on top!! OR OR move the lunchbox and pumpkin to the top and I can get 4 more in.......phew though I needed another case there for a minute and I don't really have anywhere for it!!!!.
  20. went from this to this just the body and decals to do. I will get a set of MCI Super Shots (as I did with my re-re BigWig)
  21. normally I get them at Tamiya Base but they have not been uploaded. My suggestion is to do a google image search and use the photos to help you place them. OR if someone on here has one and still has instructions can photo and upload the relevant pages from the manual?
  22. I have several bodies with scrap marks where the knife has gotton away from me. I am after something like the rolled up sandpaper but I am LAZY and want a faster solution BUT not a high speed dremel as I know you can take mm off in seconds. So again I ask is there anything lower to med speed version that will SLOWLY take a mm here or there off?
  23. Hello all, Does anyone have a low speed dremel (uk link please) that will let me get to those hard to reach places that wont melt the plastic. Its for taking off those last few mm round suspension towers etc. The lexen tends to be quite thick here and trimming with the angles is hard to do. The lower the cost the better of course.
  24. These do fit but.....price!!
  25. This BUT the real prize was a set of original vanquish rims were hidden in the box (spotted it on zooming in on a shot that showed the box open)
