  1. As the title suggests what lexen bodies have you fitted or seen fitted to your wheelie truck? Any pics? interested in all ideas not just truck bodies.
  2. a batch of suspension bits for Boomerang (or similar) also many parts including 2 Nr Chassis for Bigwig, new radio gear, tire glue, tool box, Tamiya tool set and 2 A2 self healing mats. Getting ready for builds at Christmas. I also done a deal on a well used but modded Pumpkin so its winging its way to me (from the two I have I should get a decent one up and running with lots of mods and have enough to sell a stock rolling chassis(one I bough has a Scooby shell on it, looks quite smart in pics too so will have to see what looks best when it arrives.
  3. PM sent
  4. BITD a few mates and I raked about my fathers farm yard, mostly broken up tarmac with a few stone patches. 5 Buggies and 2 batteries each and we spent ages brushing the gravel back to where it started and broke up even more of the tarmac. Pops not impressed so we never really got another use at it..
  5. These are just 15min from me if anyone is interested https://www.gumtree.com/p/hobbies-collectibles/tamiya-rc-cars/1278433253 Looks like a basher, a racer with mods and a shelf queen. If anyone is interested and I can help get to you let me know.
  6. Ok and thanks, a new charger has just been added to my Xmas list....along with well the entire Tamiya Back catalog..............................................................I NEEEEEEED HHHEEEELLLLLPPPPPP
  7. While I know this will speed me up I understand these batteries are volatile and need my boys to be able to use them safely as well.
  8. There are three settings and its on the correct one for NiMH (3 beeps on start up)
  9. yep, new about 3 weeks ago Any links to a decent charger?
  10. As was taught to charge slowly if you can was charging at either 1 or 2Amps, no more. So trying at 3A this am. not paying attention to charger as with 3 kids no chance of that. The batteries are not warm so did do em 2 or 3 times after each other as only taking a a small amount of time. never used more than 2 till now.
  11. Why am I only getting 5 min a run from one battery and about 10 from the other? (both batteries bought at same time, both only been used 3 times.
  12. Sorry I know this will have been asked before in some form BUT:- Just bought a Gumtree TT-02B which has a cooled ESC and Brushless combo (they came as a matched set) Everything works as it should but was built Stock out of box and sold as a RTR to the guy I bought it off. He ran it a few times and then got bored. I got a couple of 3300NiMH of Ebay(likely not the best) and the charger I got with it seems to be a good one I can charge at different rates. 0.5,1,2,3,& 4A. Chargeing seems to be very quick which means the run time is also poor. One of the batteries is definatly worse than the other. Any advice?
  13. son has a Bush Devil 2 under the tree
  14. I am about 1 month ahead of you. 2 sons, 12y and 6y old, they started playing with old mini Z cars I raced 20+ years ago (very badly I might add but it was as much for the banter and craic as could race all year in the evenings) Then they found my Older Tamiya kits (Boomerang, Thundershot and Midnight Pumpkin. Like you I jumped the gun and bought of Gumtree a modern TT02B, some 3300NIMH of Ebay which I am having problems with ( seem to charge WAY to quick and last way to short, any advice on this one guys - chager is for modern NIMH and I can choose the amps I charge at from 0.5, 1, 2, 3 & 4) Bought and fitted Ballreaces as orignal owner bought RTR as stock. It has a matched ESC and brushless motor and is very fast compared to my older kits. I have a Bushdevil 2 in the Xmas bag for the eldest (so looking forward to building it with him) and all the kit he needs. I have parts ordered for my older kits to get em all in running order. (its already expensive and still need soooooo much more.......) BUT compared to my other pastimes its peanuts. (Trikes, jetskies and caravans) I am on Ebay all the time trying to find a few older models at decent money BUT I assume its the time of year they all go for bout half to getting on for re-re new money which seems strong to me. I so have issues!!!!!
  15. Not after a Mad Bull persay, just the big wheels and ground clearance for a bit of bashing. Son getting a Bush Devil 2 for Xmas and looking to be able to bash about with him. My buggies dont have the ground clearance, and the pumpin is well......bonkers
  16. need to find a buggy first but will come back to you if I win one. there is a MB and a GH2 & 2 Fighter Buggies up in next few days
  17. I have Pumpkin wheels so am I better with a GH2 as a base? Madbulls on EBay are STUPID prices at min. hence looking at another way to get to the same thing. I just got a set of pumpkin wheels with tires on em as mine are falling apart.
  18. Can anyone let me know what is needed to convert a fighter buggy (or can I use a grasshopper 2?) to a Madbull other than the wheels and tires.
  19. lol, looks like you have your answers already. The ESP you found is a good bet as mentioned its for Brushed (motor like you have) and also brushless (your next potential upgrade. As you wont need the servo to operate the current speed controller you will have more room to play with.
  20. The model you have will have a 3 speed mechanical speed controller. It should work ok as long as the servo is doing what it should. They are pretty pants and a big mod back in the day was an ESP but was very expensive. Now they are not expensive -so its an easy way to sort it out. First photo is a BEC 2 speed Mechanical speed controller (Battery Eliminator Circuit) so it takes power from the main battery to the receiver so you don't need a separate battery pack. Earlier models would have needed a battery pack as well. 2nd Photo is a ESP (Electronic Spreed Controller), basic model for a brushed motor (as the one you have is) If its the radio gear which sounds likely try these, just ordered a set for my lads new car. RC gear 2.4g https://www.modelsport.co.uk/absima-cr2s-v2-2-channel-2-4ghz-radio-control-system/rc-car-products/376271 Servo https://www.modelsport.co.uk/alturn-usa-standard-deluxe-ball-bearing-waterproof-servo/rc-car-products/371888 links given to me by another forum member. As he said you can get a little cheaper BUT they are not reliable and the the servo is waterproof. You don't need a 2nd servo as the ESP does both functions and plugs directly into the receiver. Hope you get it sorted and enjoy getting back into the hobby.
  21. I bought a set of wheels and tries for my old Pumpkin as my tires are degraded to point of coming apart. Reading with interest the Pumpkin upgrades and will certainly get to some of them as well. Love the fishing line to stop back end bouncing so much and the front shock tower brace, both easy both effective. Also got a couple of model mats, one for me and one for the lad.
  22. The back ones are too and the front bumper is missing. Definitely a super sabre though.
  23. when do we get to see the video clip of it smoking?
  24. Posted the Traxxas T Maxx to its new owner. Ordered rest of sons Christmas pressie (RC controller and servo, 2 batteries and an A2 modelling mat) Also bough a job lot of Boomerang/Bigwig spares of Ebay that includes just about all the plastic parts needed for Front and rear gearbox and suspension in either with a bigwig chassis and a few of the body yellow parts. Just need to get a set of Pumpkin tires and I will have all my old models n Running order again.
