about a 20-25% difference I reckon.
Maybe I should read the instructions for the ESC in case there are other points I am missing. I just hooked it up and away I went....lol slightly slower than i should have it turns out..

Then it should be Yellow to Red and Blue to Black. Is that how you have it?

Yellow to Yellow, and Blue to Green?
IF I had used the silvercan then I may have got this right, BUT I put in Sports Tuned to both in the build and they have a red and a black.

Great runners, keep them both! 😀
Was thinking that myself, see if he wants a Neo Scorcher instead.

A bit more, but not much. These are the first of the new wave of lower clearance buggies. I have a Thunder Dragon and it has loads more clearance than my DF01 or DT03. That said it's harder to get my Thunder Dragon not to grip roll on high grip surfaces like grass so there are reasons for them getting lower over the years.
You can make a thundershot Dragon at lower but not the others higher

I do have original tires (in bits) on the original rims, tatty. Dont have the cover or driver.
Changed the A5 part as the part that was there did not have the bit to attach bumper. Mine is part cracked so not ideal but at least looks better as something to fix bumper to. Gearboxs- did not take apart so other than both smooth and easy to turn.
Chassis has the upper front gearbox connector split off, so in effect the front gearbox is held with three screws, I assume this is why the F-R drive shaft had popped out. Also why I had to take front box out to refit it. Thanks for the input. May order a couple of tubs and get this and my Thundershot rebuilt. Do full strip.
I am being tortured to sell it though!!!

Tell me do these have more ground clearance than a TT-02B, bought a Neo scorcher and while its fun its VERY low for a buggy. Was working on my Terra Scorcher today and it has WAY more ground clearance.
-
I have done most of the work to get this up and running and someone is bugging me to sell it to them. I have no idea of value as originally bought as a donner for my Thundershot but its actually in better condition now I have worked on it. Used a lot of parts to get to this stage. Still needs a tub and tires.
Box in decent condition but no instructions.
If It was on Ebay what might it get (not with wind behind it OR on a bad day) just to I have some idea please? Has full vintage radio gear.

any other cars run this chassis?

I discover today that the wires to motor have to be a particular way round as in reverse it puts much less power out. As I had wires wrong way round the truck was ok in forward and manic in reverse....switched wires and flipped servo reverse switch and more go in forward and less manic in reverse.
-
did some work on the Terra Scorcher I have got. took out front gearbox and refitted F-R drive shaft. Replaced the front bumper holder as it was so badly damaged the front bumper was hanging off. Changed the aftermarket shocks to originals. cleaned the body, removed the extra Radio Race Car stickers that had been added, trimmed the pealing stickers. replaced a few other parts from my spares on way in and out.
It still needs a tub (front right as you look at it) as one of the gearbox mounts is broken.
It needs tires as all 4 are perished. Pits as other than that its in great condition and ready to run, all the drivetrain is smooth and working as it should. Even has a hot motor from back in the day. Came with box in reasonable condition but no instructions. This one was ballraced so not much wear and all tight in drive train.

took the MT-01's out for a spin, What I did not know was that the new ESC's have a forward and reverse with forward allowing more go then reverse. We had them accidentally in reverse.....so they seems under-powered in Forward (if that makes sense) so I switched the leads into motors and switched on servo reverse and low and behold they were about 25% faster going forward....

finished truck Nr 2
Both truck fully ballraced with Sports tuned motors and larger tires. Did our own thing with paint and graphics. (well I did, son copied my stickers but his paint was really cool) Mine is blue, his is black. I did mine first and it was first with spray paint and as last was a midnight pumpkin about.......20+ years ago it was a learning curve. His was so much faster to do body, paint and stickers as after a few frustrating starts looked up utube and watched some demo's and then was getting on much better.

Anyone got two as I note they come in a pair and if you only needed the 21T then you may have a 20T spare.
I need 2 please, if you only have one let me know. Rather see a member on here get some of their money back as having loads spares in your tool box is such a waste.
Other option is does anyone need a 21T? I can get a post you on the 21T.

Built the second MT-01 and have had out for a test run. Son is well impressed just need to get the 2nd body done now.....

Looking good. The easiest way to cut the shell is to score it round with a Xacto or Stanley knife then fold/tear it for a perfect line.
Otherwise if using scissors, you can sand it after for a good edge and reduce risk of splits occuring where you have jagged cuts or sharp corners.
went on U Tube and after getting a new knife did mostly your first option with a bit of sanding to smooth. Well please and the second one was so much easier, I suspect same will go for Painting and stickers as well.

Went along to my local clubs Christmas race day event. Just to watch. Stayed about an hour. Had a chat with the club secretary and he showed me his cars - 2wd and 4wd from PR Racing (never heard of them! But they seemed pretty fast).
Then I went back a couple of hours later and took my boys for a look.
The looks on their little faces when they saw how fast the cars were and saw them jumping. Priceless

One of the club regulars even came over and spoke to us and said everyone was welcome to join and take part.
Don't think I could handle the stress of my boys taking to the track alongside other folks expensive bits of kit just yet though!
Nice to have a local club to take them to....

I have a Thundershot with cracked front chassis mounts, bought a new chassis frommTonys Tamiya parts now I need to swap it all over... I bought this second hand too. Last time I started taking it apart to clean I snapped the rear chassis mount... is there a particular order to disassemble this thing?
From memory.....lol that about 20+years. Removed the gearboxes to reduce weight then strip all other parts. OR download the manual and strip in reverse order to the build instructions. Need to get a chassis for my Thundershot and now the Terra Scorcher & then do same twice.

just picked one up today, not decided what I am doing with it, BUT I have loads of suspension and gearbox parts so if you get one and need a few bits try messaging me.
Here is what I picked up:
Super sabre, tires all perished, one broken bottom rear suspension shock carrier and one upper arm with a cracked mounting. issue with front gear box (like there is a stripped gear or diff as its slightly notchy) it??? Body is really rough and chassis cover is missing. Nothing that cant be fixed with some TLC and ££. There is a box & Manuel in decent condition. It has radio gear and a hot motor.

shell Nr 2 is now cut out. Son wants box art BUT with white changed to silver. hope to have it ready later today.
Also been out shopping. Bought 2 Projects, a Terra Scorcher in decent nick BUT tires are all scrap, shocks are Al upgrades but standards in spares, body is ropy but salvageable but red......can you get the paint of a pollycarb shell? Also a front bumper part missing which I reckon I have (need to check) but the big disappointment was the chassis has a front body mount cracked....same as my Thundershot.......oh well. Really strange the drive rod from front to back box is not installed, was sitting in the chassis but when I started fiddling it came out.
Also a Super Sabre in about same condition. Chassis seems ok, body is really rough. needs some suspension parts which I have so may be able to get both in decent running order with a few more ££

It was only slower till I changed the wires to correct way. So it' all sorted. Has been since before I posted my point -was if I got it wrong so may others and I posted to help others get to solving it faster than I did. 3 batteries in.
