King Blackfoot wheelie Bar???
jesterdude replied to sony-sonic's topic in Monster Trucks, 4x4, Wheelie Rigs and Crawlers
Yea i made one too. I used small alu box section very cheap at £1 for alu and my time. Works a treat and fits straight on the rear of my bushdevil (same gearbox as KBF) Check my showroom for details. -
Hi ive got a speed demon 15t double and i dont know alot about this motor but thought i would give it a try in bush devil as this is the truck which gets all the abuse[]. Its fully ballraced, nosram 10t esc, 3000nimh pack and the acceleration is very poor but the top end speed is insane. Is it got anything to do with the pinion gear = more teeth more acceleration , less teeth more top speed. I dont want to strip the devils gearbox if the motors to hot for it. After one run nothings over heating at all. It is a very quite which is nice. Anybody got any thoughts on this[?] Cheers all Ryan.

One or 2 caps isnt enough between + and - as thats what its like now and its worse than before. It worked fine before so i will just give it a clean with snad paper to give it a key as terry suggests and just take my time over it as i think i rushed it a bit yesterday but it does make my pumpkin quite nippy []. Chers For the replys Ryan

Lunchbox/Pumpkin rearend
jesterdude replied to AndyB's topic in Monster Trucks, 4x4, Wheelie Rigs and Crawlers
Hi take a look at my 3rd shock mode on the lunchbox. It works a treat easpecially as it will take ahell of a thrashing unlike the little springs. Friction shocks seem to work better than oil filled ones i dont know why though. I have a TL01 friction shock on the lunchbox and a ta02 cva on the pumpkin. take a look in my showroom for more pics of this -
how about a motor setup how to guide
jesterdude replied to jesterdude's topic in Tamiyaclub Rules and Site Usage
Cheers you guys for links that will keep me busy reading that lot [] -
Cheers for the replys. Ive been round town and cant find any capicitors that are right so had a ganda on ebay and found some guy selling capicitor kits for mod motors so i bought some as they were very cheap even with postage i put them on and they sorted the above problem straight away IDEAl . I have soldered them on the motor connectors but the ends that solder to the can itself isnt staying on there[!]. I get the metal hot enough to apply solder but after a 10 min run in the pumpkin they have come loose from the can[] but the motor is only about average temp and is not over heating as i keep a check on it every now then while im running the pumpkin. My main question is can i damage the motor by heating it up any more with a soldering iron[?]? Ryan
-
Ahh thats it it hasnt got any capicitors on it i feel such a derrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Cheers guys. Will try and see if i have any to put on if not were can i get a couple.

Hi i need some advice on a 27t fatman yoko motor. In my pumpkin i had a rs sport 540 and when you let off the accelarator stick to neutral from flat out it free wheeled about 8 to 10 inchs really freely and smooth. I have put a fatman 27 stock motor in it and now it will only free wheel about 4inchs then start to skid a bit. It seems abit stiff also when i go a certain distance from me with it about 20 to 30 meters the motor sort jerks[}] from medium to full but when i come back to about 15 to 10 metres its right on. Its not my radio gear as when i have the sport tuned it goes for miles with no probs. Ive checked the gears are meshing correctly which they are, its fully ball raced, i am using a mtronics esc 27t limit. I was wondering if its a sign of something to do with the motor. Any help would be very handy indeed. Ryan

I have trawled through the search looking for any info at all about rebuildable motors. I am a novice when it comes to this type of motor as theres so much to learn and i havent found anything on the web except for stuff about using a motor lathe but what about novices i ask that havent got all this gear. i must admit though i have learnt some general stuff though on my search like single, double , triple or quad refers to the number of wires wound round and the turn is how many times its wound round (hope this is right) Anyway i reakon one of you experts or racers with all your vast knowledge could come up with a how to guide on motors, turns, double and triple turn motors. like whats the equilivant single turn motor to a double or a triple so you use the right esc turn limit. Easy steps for novice or even a general guide on how to dismantle with care, keep your motors running smooth, were to check for signs of wear, problems and handy hints and tips or anything at all on motors and how to keep them lasting as long as poss. I ask this as i found loads of newbies to the rc scene asking the same sort of questions over and over. There is also alot of very nice experts willing to help as and when they can which is most generous of them. All i want to do is have fun with my cars and trucks, make them faster and run smoothly but with out wrecking everything[]. Can someone help me please[] Cheers all. Ryan

Hi all[] As title rolling chassis or with receiver money waiting. Many thanks Ryan
-
Ideal. Glad to see it worked for you. Now you can go thrash your hornet[]with out wrecking your battery pack. Ryan
-
Hi i had the same prob on the original hornet so i stuck a strip of foam on the inside of battery cover(try different thickness for desired effect) I pushed the battery back away from the pack and wedged it more tightly against the chassis. Give it a go worked fine for me. Ryan

I would love to get my son into it but i dont like the atmosphere up there. I dont mind hopping up my cars as everyone does it bearings, oil shocks, esc, motor so on and so . Well im happy as i am playing with me tamiyas and having loads of fun and thats what counts.

Ace idea. be glad to bring back memories of ye olde model shops from me youth. Great idea and thanks again Ryan -
I know what its like my local club is full of team visa . They are all trying to out do each other and most of them cant afford it. One of them said he paid £20 for a power cap which nearly made me wet myself laughing then get in a fight with him because i said you could get them at our local electrical shop for 0.40p [] which made me laugh even harder when i seen his face which looked like this [] (thats a problem when you live in a small town like me you make enemys easy all i can say is bring him on [)] [)] ) When i was 9 or 10 everybody helpped everyone out especially the kids i know i only raced mardave mini stocks and it was 18 yrs ago[:0] but it was a right jest. I just stay away now. I do it 1.as i couldnt afford loads of models when i was young but can now, 2. i dont like nitro as its messy and expensive 3. they are extremely fun to drive 4. there bodies look better. I am an all round tamiya nut (i need help) and i dont care aslong as i am happy which i am [][][][][]

Hi i have a TL01 which has been ball raced, strengthened turnbuckle set (stronger steering setup) nosram 13 turn limit electronic speed controller, hitec radio gear, used subaru imprezza shell and a lexsus shell which needs repainting but its not damaged, subaru wheels and tyres. The only thing is theres no transmitter, battery packs or charger. But it is in good working condition. It was my sons first car. This would be ideal as a first car as parts and hop ups are readly available. I want £60 which includes postage. Many thanks Ryan
