  1. Out of interest what kit did you use for the led lights?! After a set for my Blackfoot! But some reason most of eBay sets say 4-6v!
  2. That’s a awesome bit of help! Might look at the Kamtec ones as they would be cheap enough not to worry about crashing.
  3. Both really helpful! Postage seems to be the killer to get them to the U.K! I did spot this, while it’s not a exact fit at 257mm wheelbase and a tad narrower I think it could work aswell? https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/380477 The sun king body’s look great just worried again smashing it apart and being without a cheaper alternative
  4. Has anyone fitted a lexan alternative to there Blackfoot chassis or monster beetle? Don’t quite fancy cracking mine and let the kids play with! seen this https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/traxxas-bigfoot-no.-1-officially-licensed-replica-clear-bodyshell-420976 but any suggestions would be great. thank you
  5. That’s awesome! Just need to find the page where you can actually buy them now ha! I would like to run brushless, but not completely destroy the thing!
  6. Treated myself to a little Blackfoot build, more so for me and the boy but it’s a good excuse for me to tinker! my question is will these handle brushless? I’ve got a 60a hobby king esc and a 3650kv motor and a small 2s lipo lying about but wondered if it would be overkill? otherwise what options are there for a bit more speed than the normal 540 can? It comes with the tamiya esc so a sport tuned motor and 2s lipo obviously don’t want to kill it! But wouldn’t mind it a tad faster to bring a smile to my face if that makes sense!
  7. Let me know what you’d be after for it as it will certainly need a shell! I was very close to selling this but I can’t bring myself to do it! So the project goes on!
  8. Fear this may be a slippery slope for the old girl! But surely that’s half the fun giving it a go!
  9. I have managed to find this little beauty in storage. 17 turn so hopefully nothing that might not fry the diff! I will be stripping the diff just to check over everything. It feels a little tight on one wheel,so suspect somethings up! Have seen the Tamiya single ball thrust bearing option.53136 Is that worth while? Anything that improves the durability a bit! I think at some stage someone’s tried some sort of anti roll linkage at the rear. Interesting little set up! the more I look at this thing the more I feel bad for not cleaning it up now!
  10. Well I guess a introduction as this is my first post, and a little thread at the same time! Recently acquired this cheeky little madcap! If I’m perfectly honest I’m 50/50 as wether I should keep it or move to something I know would be happy with a brushless set up! But the lure of a vintage tamiya racing about with a brushed motor is twinging in the back of my head. In fact I found a 17turn lrp motor in the loft! It will be a work in progress thread and I’ve been scouring the forum for info already as I understand the diff can be the issues on these! She’s quite grubby so due a full strip down and clean up and a good service. Maybe that will make me want to keep it?! Who knows . Body shell hunt will also be on the cards and a few repos have popped up on the good old eBay! If anyone has any further thoughts or advice, I’m all ears!
  11. Really 50/50 about selling this as was thinking of a little restoration! But also wouldn’t mind going down the brushless route and don’t think this would handle the pace! What you see here is what you will get. There’s no shell I’m afraid! Needs a good strip down and clean up! Located in the uk and ideally don’t want to post abroad. I don’t have a clue what these go for but il put a price up at £40 Please someone buy it before I change my mind!
