  1. Seriously resisting the urge to post a picture of the front of my house šŸ˜¬ Autocorrect has done you proud @Hairyjon313 Sorry, nothing useful to add but the title got me curious regardless!
  2. Glad you got sorted. Strange about the ball connectors. I definitely had issues. Wonder if its a buggy vs truggy/monster wheel thing. Canā€™t recall what wheels I was running at the time now.
  3. Looks great fun. Planning on a beach trip soon, weather permitting, with the cars.
  4. What @Jonathon Gillham says is quite right. I cant recall at the minute exactly what I have mine set at but will definitely have started and will still be roughly 50mm as per kit. Iā€™d personally get it running true via trim and steering rod adjustment first and worry about the rest later as it can end up as a bit of a rabbit hole chasing things. Turnbuckles can help make life easier adjusting but itā€™s more money (admittedly not a huge amount but still!) Change one thing, make a note, see how it goes/effects another etc. These are worth a read though... https://www.rcscrapyard.net/tips.html And for a pretty in-depth read... http://users.telenet.be/elvo/ Hopefully though someone like Cy who has a better grasp on this aspect will be along at some point with some advice/guidance as he did a lot of tweaking geometry/suspension with his DT03.
  5. That looks fantastic. Great job. šŸ‘Œ
  6. I had some fun fitting the Hi Torque servo mount. You need to look in the Aqroshot manual for the correct orientation iirc. https://www.tamiya.com/english/rc/rcmanual/58610.pdf Page 15. Might be how you have already set it up however. Iirc from mine the ball cups (end of steering rods) needed rotating on the wheel end 90deg to fit. Donā€™t change anything till you are sure though. I may be misremembering. Looking at your picture though. The ball connectors need to be swapped to the other side of the saver so effectively the ball connectors are between servo and saver otherwise the steering rods can foul the chassis. The last picture shows what I mean. Again, might just have been my bad luck be worth mentioning as the kit saver has a step in and the Hi Torque doesnā€™t hence the need to mount differently to avoid contact. As for the steering rods. They donā€™t come out of that bottom hole. Thatā€™s for access to the servo saver screw. The rods come out of the hole above your thumb in the recessed area. One each side. EDIT: some pictures of mine.
  7. Slippy slope šŸ˜‚ I imagine it will though as it can be set up as 225 wheelbase.
  8. Good plan šŸ˜‚ Your comments regarding the mx5 not being technically right is one of my ā€˜issuesā€™. Iā€™d want a fwd shell and none really take my fancy. I look forward to more updates.
  9. I approve whole heartedly of the excessive use of blue bits šŸ˜‚ And the detail/musings are great. Will be following with interest. I donā€™t want a road car/chassis, but thereā€™s that little thought banging around the back of my head saying try it! Any ideas on body/shell, or do we have to wait for the big reveal?
  10. Can see a set of these landing on the door mat at some point in the future. Just built the alloy hop up GF01 shocks and they are lovely and appear to just be small versions of the df03ā€™s. I was very impressed. This arrived yesterday along with some swing shafts for something Iā€™m toying with but has gone on the back burner. Anyway. A chance/well timed comment to Tony of TTP fame and money exchanged hands! My youngest can now have a ā€˜girlā€™ driver in her GF01 when itā€™s finished which she is very happy about. Initial impressions are the head/helmet is much better than the Wild Willy version but for me I prefer Willyā€™s torso with the belts/buckles etc. so will probably end up a mashup of both. Best buy some paint now and see how rusty I am at painting models.
  11. Tamiya 51000 Hi Torque to replace P-parts. Is a recommended hop-up on the side of the box too iirc. Cant comment on the actual servo.
  12. You can pretty much ignore the bag of bits that cane with the servo from my experience. With the Tamiya kits Iā€™ve built Iā€™ve only needed the parts that came with the kit and not what cane with the servo.

Iā€™ll not bother then. At least Iā€™ll know for next time now!

I feel better in knowing I wasnā€™t alone šŸ˜‚ Might email them and see if they will honour them minus code. Probably say no but nothing to lose.

Well then. Thatā€™s a lot of points that went in the recycling bin šŸ˜‚

Hmm. I must be missing something here. As I have made several orders and the points on all (one over a year old) are still ā€˜pendingā€™. Do you need to do something to convert to credit? Iā€™ve never really looked. Edit: just had a quick glance over t&cā€™s and says you need a validation code. Definitely never noticed receiving any. Might email them.
  17. Nice. So much want. Really canā€™t justify it. Especially without a chassis it could go on.
  18. A DT03 that started life as a buggy and has ended up a truggy. A Top Force I really should finish. A Schumacher Cougar...that I should finish! And an impulse purchase GF01 Toyota Landcruiser that I thought looked fun for the youngest. Again Iā€™ve not even considered starting that yet. Bit of a theme going on on that front! As for next. I really fancy a ā€˜properā€™ truggy/truck like the Associated RC10T6.1 but Iā€™ve told myself no more purchases until the others are up and running. Keep looking though!
  19. Are those springs different hardnessā€™s? Iā€™ve not seen any springs for the wr02/gf01 and itā€™s a build thatā€™s on my radar for the future, although Iā€™ve not looked too hard tbh!
  20. So much is cool about this but I am absolutely loving that rust/weathering. Top job šŸ‘
  21. I only have experience of two Tamiya versions. The open ended ones from the Top Force #50596 The ball cup/closed ones from my DT03 #51283 I have a preference for the DT03 ones as they feel better on (subjective). Think I need to get me one of those tools @ALEXKYRIAK has posted. The adjuster on the Schumacher Cougar are an absolute pain to remove. The grip those balls for dear life!
  22. No idea tbh as I havenā€™t finished the TF and donā€™t own or indeed have any experience of the SA. In all honesty though you know the only acceptable solution to this situation is to buy both. šŸ˜ˆ
  23. @svenb @moffman seeing as we are having a cossie appreciation thing going on(!) have you seen Ken Blocks latest? I know itā€™s designed for a specific purpose but really not feeling it personally.
  24. Just been wondering this myself as Iā€™m going to be needing a fair few soon for something. Cant believe the price difference between the open ended vs ball cup. 6 open ended are Ā£2.99 8 closed are Ā£8.99 Considering Iā€™ll need 12 thatā€™s quite a difference.
