  1. Just looked at the XV01 manual online. Looks like Bag C 3x42mm x2 3x23mm x2 Bag D 3x23mm x2 Bag E (for the steering servo by the looks of it) 3x42mm x1
  2. Thanks for your help. I assume pretty much all Tamiya use 5mm ball ends with 3mm threads? It looks that way from eyeing over various sites etc. I'll get those parts ordered for the XV then, sweet.
  3. Ah, I think I may of got slightly confused there. The 5mm is the actual ball that attaches to the suspension/steering arm etc. Right?
  4. Thanks! I think for the rear it would be the 54250 pack then (x2). Those look a lot easier to deal with than the standard ones, and they are blue which is always nice So the low friction ball ends (53601), they are described as 5mm adjuster. Are these the right ones then, or do Tamiya make a 3mm version (to fit the 3mm turn buckles you mentioned)?

  6. Thanks very much! I’ve never seen those TRF Pliers before but I am a sucker for Tamiya tools (they really are a joy to use). I was thinking the other day it was weird they didn’t have a tool for assembling dampers without scratching them (or needing paper towels!). And, they’ve got a section that can do the turn buckles. So, If I got a set of the low friction adjusters and either size of the alloy turnbuckles, they’d be easier to install? Is there a preference on size? I have no idea really as no car I’ve built has ever used turn buckles. Actually, neither of the turn buckles are 5mm, they say 3mm, or is that measuring something else? 3x23 3x33 are they the length of them?
  7. Inspired by my forever long lasting love for Ridge Racer, I did this paint job for my Raikiri GT, the fictional TT02 that Tamiya makes.
  8. Thanks, I’ll look into picking one up!
  9. This thread has been great to read through. I've got an XV-01 to build, but haven't had the chance to start it yet. I've read the turn buckles are a nightmare though. Can you get those HPI wrench's on ebay? Also, I think the ones in the normal kit (I have the Lancia Intergrale) are different to the Hop Up ones on the Pro kit. I wonder if you can buy those Pro ones seperately? They might be better to use. I also looked at some of the Tamiya and Yeah Racing wreches, but they smallest they do is 3mm, and I think the standard turn buckles are smaller than that, they certainly look it!. Also, did you fit the clutch?
  10. Are the TA03 diffs better than the stock ones in the Top Force?
  11. I think it must be this one in yellow, not red. The little spacer. And that goes on the shaft inside where all the oil goes, right?
  12. Cheers. I think I know what spacer you mean. There is only one on each tree, right? Looks like about 1cm in length.
  13. I’ve got the TT02 CVA kit to build them. Did you use the longer ball connector lower parts V2, or V1? V2 would certainly make the shock length longer overall, but I may not sure if they should be built that long? Also, the internal spacer to limit the length of the travel, is that part 3 on the V part tree? It looks like a little tube, do you just stick it on the piston?
  14. When building the TT02 54753 shocks for your MF01X, did you use the longer ball connector lower parts V2, or V1? V2 would certainly make the shock length longer overall, but I may not sure if they should be built that long? Also, someone mentioned using the internal spacer to limit the length of the travel, did you do that, and if so is that part 3 on the V part tree? Thanks!
  15. My MF01X has a very similar issue. Mine though the front right wheel had much more clearance between the tyre and wheel arch than the other side. Nothing rubbing, straight posts. Just weird!
  16. I’ve just taken delivery of 2 sets of 5mm Yeah Racing clamping ones. 1 set is for my MF01X. Annoyingly, it looks like the stock plastic ones are more like 6mm! How much difference will it actually make? For my XV01 that I am building soon, does anyone know if they are 5mm or 6mm as standard?
  17. The Lancia Delta Integrale is my favourite car of all time but this era Quattro comes fairly close. What a legend. I guess it’s a shame it’s not on a more rally specific chassis but I think it looks stunning and will be hard to resist!
  18. I saw this when I was tired and assumed it was a static model. Didn't realise it was going to be an RC car. Looks amazing!
  19. Could do, but my MF01X is a total basher and it's already covered in dirt and mud and I can't see myself cleaning it any time soon. Looks like a well used rally car right now!
  20. They do but I am sure he/she felt the same as me when they saw them. An utter pain in the bum to apply and don’t look great when on! I tried and then peeled them off.
  21. Looks great! Really nice! I've run mine a few times now and it desperately needs oil shocks to replace the friction ones. What did you go for? I was thinking of 50746 (x2) or 54753. I am not sure the difference between the two, really.
  22. That would be a good to see (a guide of sorts!).
  23. Thank you! I've seen the testers themselves for about £5, so I'll track down a cheaper one like you said, and since the Acoms boxes are about £8 themselves that will be handy! Thanks for your help, look forward to seeing the rest of this build!
  24. Please could you tell us where did you get the battery holder and wire/connector from? I'd like a servo tester but I'd like one of those battery holders, handy!
  25. Cheers! Sorry, do you know what sort of diameter (gauge?) wire I should get?
