  1. I found out that center ring doesn't need trimming because it's already too short to fit the tire. Maybe original Brat ring can be used to prevent tire from slipping. I modified the back of brat rear wheels by just using dremel and a drill bit. I've done it around 10 years ago so not the cleanest work. If you're going to do this make sure that CC axle shafts are long enough to mount them on because brat wheel centers are thicker than rc4wd wheels. Or you can trim that chamfered middle part in the font too. Another option is to make your own hexes that fit directly to the wheel screws but it would add to track width. 915's are true 1.55 but the rubber is thick. Take a look at the photos that show the space on the tire lip. The sidewall sticks out by 1.5mm on both sides because the wheel is too thin.
  2. They fit but you need to trim the center ring of the wheels. I mounted my 915's on aluminum wheels and they are a bit wider than the wheels. I will take photos in the morning. I have older version of rc4wd 1.55 steel wheels , I can fit a 915 on it to test if you want. Another thing you can do is use a set of Tamiya Brat rear wheels and trim the back to accept pins. I did that and they fit any axle perfectly and have narrower track width. I will take photos of them too in the morning. Here's a photo of 915's on the earliest version of rc4wd 1.55 steel wheels;
  3. I like it too, it's unusual, I hope it is a Kyosho. By the way, I can send it to you if you like it.
  4. I hope it is. I can't find any Kyosho Lemans that's exactly like mine. Could it be fake Lemans ?
  5. Looks like it but the front face of mine is textured and has chamfer, also the center part that is sticking out at the back is plastic.
  6. Does anybody know anything about this motor ? I was going to give it away but then saw the Japan sign so I thought it might worth something. It's heavier than Mabuchi 540.
  7. I have just tried 6 cells and 8 cells again but no power. I don't touch any power adapters that come from US anymore, I had few exploded before. Could there be some burnt parts inside the transmitter that I can be replaced ?
  8. I recently scored a really nice vintage Futaba FP5-DN set but when I checked inside it was missing the battery, most of the time it's not a problem for box futaba radios because they all use the same battery. So I plugged the battery tray from another Futaba and the transmitter did not turn on even though the plug fits perfectly. After that I noticed that the battery tray has 2 wires only, but the transmitter has 3 wires coming from it. All other box radios of mine have 2 wires coming from the transmitter but the plugs still have 3 pins. Only difference is that the FP5-DN had rechargeable batteries. Do you guys think that the transmitter does not work because of the wire number ? Is it possible to get a custom battery made that has 3 wires if it's going to make it work ? There's a manual for it if it answers anything: https://www.instructionsmanuals.com/product/futaba/radio-control/fp5dn I don't have any electrical knowledge so I don't know what to look for.
  9. This is what I see; CLODCLODCLODCLODCLODCLODCLODCLOD CLODCLODCLODCLODCLODCLODCLODCLOD CLODCLODCLODCLODCLODCLODCLODCLOD
  10. @Wooders28 @Otis311 @Bash Thank you all for the information, I will go with 1060 since it's simplier and cheaper. I didn't know simple stuff still existed.
  11. Thank you for the information. From what I see 1080 looks very complicated and requires programming. I have a novak duster esc with programming and I can't get it to run, car drives reverse only.
  12. Tundra frame has embossments on the side that allow you to lift the transmission which is a big plus. The transmission sits too low on F350 and if you want to lift it you need to lift the body as well to fit.
  13. Thank you, from the photos it looks just like the team onion esc that came with the surfer. Could it be same product but different brands ? If they are the same specs, which I don't know anything about, then it is exactly what I need. I have 2 questions; -Can same esc be used in both boats and trucks ? It says watercrafts on a website. -Can I cut the wire that goes into receiver to swap with an old style wire to fit my vintage receivers ?
  14. Kyosho Surfer is the most fun I ever had with any rc. I lost my first one in SF because of an electronic problem and than bought 2 more.
  15. I am going to use it on my Kyosho surfer mostly along with Bruiser and Rough Rider. I don't intend to drive forward-reverse and drive reckless if that's what you mean, I just don't like holding the car in neutral for a few seconds before being able to change the direction. Also I would like to use reverse as a brake immediately to prevent from crashing or going downhill by itself. Few years ago I bought Kyosho surfer 3 and it came with a Team Onion esc and it was perfect, I just remembered that. I lost that surfer though.
  16. I am looking for a super simple speed controller with Tamiya plug that works right out of the box, works flawless and does not require programming or anything complicated. It should also be able to switch between front and reverse without stopping, like police cars in american movies, and not brake when I move the stick to neutral. I have novak, kopropo and aqua craft esc's. I can't get any of them to work, they sometimes blink, sometimes run at full speed after 100th try and they don't have reverse. I hate them all. My electronic knowledge comes from plugging my phone charger into wall so I won't understand any numbers or terms. Just an ebay link would be great.
  17. Awesome build! I can't wait to see more.
  18. Great find and beautiful collection! I've seen real Sand Blaster JR's in dubai, thrown away with many other sand tires, and I was amazed how exactly same they were with Tamiya tires. I regret not bringing one home with me.
  19. Thanks for the information, I've never seen one before. All my hobby stuff are from pre 2000, hehe I was getting excited thinking that I could use playstation controller with it.
  20. Wow! Mini-z JB74 is so cool, but it's listed as $250. Also the transmitter is pictured without antenna, maybe it's bluetooth or infrared.
  21. I bought Hilux and Bruiser tires from that seller many years ago, quality is really good and sidewall letters on Hilux tires are really sharp like the original one.
  22. Awesome! Just found it in the manual. I haven't looked into mini Lunchbox before, it looks like a great chassis.
  23. Thanks for the information. I should have known that about motor shaft.
