Sure,  the new one will smoke these in every way, but I still rate it as a solid versatile chassis, even with a few quirks/faults 

Any reason why a Pumpkin hard body would not drop right onto the 210mm variant of the XM-01?

I've really come to appreciate the versatility of this chassis. This one started as a Bronco crawler, low gear ratio, locked diffs, 55t motor etc..

Now I'm rebuilding as a Ranger tribute, open diffs, standard gearing and a silver can. 

I may get a second CC-02 to create a monster.

My first reaction was that it was a lazy release and that I wasn't interested, but that was a lazy take.

This is a VERY cool release from Tamiya, possibly game-changing. If they do something similar with other iconic models, like the Grasshopper or the Lunch Box, like the song says, this could be the start of something good.

Santa will bring a Tamiya Hornet EVO to the NRC garage in Mongolia, to be sure!

I see this is an old thread, but I hope I'll be able to get in touch with you. I'm going to mount a Parma Lunch Box body on an M-05, and would like more information on what you used for the body posts. I saw your pics, just wondering what you used to make them. Thanks.
