  1. Thanks, gave one a go at 15 quid just paid more for a pair of tyres!
  2. Need separate controllers because the whole reason (nee excuse to the "Wife" for spending loads of cash) for getting RC cars was it was something we could all do together as a "Family" I bought a cheapo basic Absima Trigger (CR2S V2) set yesterday from the local hobby shop - Was quite impressed really. Although ;light as anything still felt a bit more substantial than the cheapo controller that came with our RTR cars. So may get a couple more of them.
  3. Got some runs of super glue on the outsides of my tyres I need to remove. I was thinking acetone nail polish remover but will it discolour / melt the tyres ? Or any other suggestions ??? cheers PMP
  4. Sorry, my post was rubbish. Just after a recommendation for new ones, 2 stick type and 2 steering wheel types. There are loads of different brands on eBay around 40 quid a set and was just wondering what's best for the dosh! Not taken by the likes of flysky as they look a bit complex for me.
  5. Alright good peoples, I been building kits at a great rate of knots but I have no radio gear. All my kits have servos and batteries. Im not interested in multi binding and all that. Just want to buy 4 sets as cheap as possible without being absolute rubbish. The less complex the better - 2 Sets I would prefer old school handheld and 2 New School Steering wheel type. Available in the UK and no more than 40 quid a set really. Any suggestions ? Cheers PMP
  6. I bought from shapeways but in all honesty it wouldn't take long to adapt a hornet set with a dremmel. Haven't got the link to hand but Google shapeways kyosho hornet and they will pop up
  7. It's no bother so long as the kit is priced (and advertised!!!!) accordingly.
  8. I had to laugh as they made a right mess getting the sticker off, fingernail scratches and everything and then left the esc in the box!
  9. My new Grasshopper has arrived. Ordered some decals from MCI. Decided on a red colourway, Ford Chillipepper Pearl Watch this space !
  10. Bought this, Grasshopper Ebay Link Got the ebay, 10% off so only ended up costing 52 quid. Ordered at 3pm, arrived 10 the very next day. But the real result was they peeled off the ESC sticker from the front of the box but didnt actually remove the ESC from the box ! Result PMP
  11. i had a go at spraying mine but putting the driver in and out scratches the uprights so I just ended up dumping my sprayed ones and bought the FAV ones. They are only the same price as buying a couple of spray cans ! I have no experience of dying plastics though
  12. Thanks, delivery in a week would be great looking good, can't beat the blue n gold combo!
  13. what a wild one looks like with them on - would suit the car better if I hadnt sprayed all the hardware gold to go with my gold novafox wheels. Would look good as a box art car with them on
  14. Unbuilt, straight out of a new kit. All bolts and nuts included. Will take pics if needed £15 plus postage delivered to the UK only or can be collected SE London Brand new Grasshopper box and instructions - £5 Cheers PMP
  15. Alright peeps, Ordered a couple of sets of decals from MCI yesterday, nothing too custom. Just wondering how long it generally takes to print, dispatch and arrive in the UK ? (and did you get hit by custom duty !!!) Cheers PMP
  16. Well as it turns out I used the 10% off on eBay and just bought another grasshopper Can't go wrong for 50 quid delivered. Brand new set of grasshopper wheels n tyres anyone????????
  17. Scorpion wheels, tyres and adaptors ! Trial fitted to my Grasshopper ! They really suit the Grasshopper but I designed the colourway from the ground up to have red wheels so they will be staying on. So need ideas for a new car (and colourway to go with the wheels) - any ideas ?? Only limitation is 2wd !!! I will order custom decals to go with whatever colourway I choose so wont be limited to OEM colours Cheers PMP
  18. Oi no taking the pi$$ out of my car!!! (my user name actually refers to veedub porsche wannabees)
  19. Thanks. The 190 Evolution is actually a Tt02r underneath! definitely a slippery slope as I've actually ordered a set of wheels (scorpion wheels) and adaptors without actually having a car (or any idea what car) to put them on. I don't think I'll get to mass collection level and the wife is likely to divorce me first (although she said she would kill me if I bought another "real car", so this is a bit easier to keep under the wife killahusband radar!!!)
  20. Alright good people's, Like many others here I had a few Tamiyas back in the 80's. My first and only new build was a hornet. I then bought a monster beetle, wild one and a 959. As the way with these things I got older and they all went to the boot fair of doom. FF 30 years and I got out of bed and thought that was fun and bought a lunchbox. Closely followed by 3 more. Don't know how long the nostalgia trip will last but he ho! Some pics of my handiwork, not the best in the world but fun anyway Still got some finishing to do and then need to decide what's next, leaning towards a boomerang or wild willy. Regards Brett
  21. Alright good people's, Back in the day I had a porker 959, bought it off my mate for 50 quid. I've seen all the countless threads about bringing it back and all the ifs and buts. This thread is not about that! It may be sacrilege to peeps on here but I personally think the 959 was wrong to be done in rally spec in the first place. The 959 was primarily a supercar, the rally history although significant was just a very small part of the car. I think it should have been released as a poster car unliveried with the original wheels. I always though the jacked up suspension of the rally car ruined the looks and made it look awkward. So if tamiya wanted to do a reissue I couldn't see any problem if they did it like it should be on a more modern chassis with a finished body like the f40. Would make a change from the 934s!!! What a 959 should look like
  22. Alright good people's. Can someone explain why lipos are such a pain in the butt???? I have lithium batteries in my drills, I charge them all day long, run them till completely and utterly flat and they never die (or burst into flames!!!!) So why are lipos so high maintenance??
