Hey Guys
This is my 'shopping list' for when i get my car...
- Ballraces.
- Ball diff.
- Steel Dog Bones (i've never really been able to tell the difference between those and universal joints when driving so i'll go with the cheaper option [
] ). I'll probably keep the 540 motor while i get used to driving it then upgrade at a later date.
Thanks guys

Sounds like i'll be getting one of these real soon [
][
]1) I have a M-01 mini and a FF-01 Renault Clio Williams, both with FWD. They handles great - you can do a special cornering technique called 'tacking in' with this drive. You approach a turn, lift the throttle (weigth of car rests on front wheels), steer (the carr will start to slide), the hit throttle again when the nose is (almost pointing the right direction (to pull car straigth, weight goes to rear wheels). It takes some practise, but you will be very fast if you master it!

Awesome!! i do that in my real 306 GTI [
] though i'd call it 'lift-off over-steer' (it's so well balanced you can steer it with the accelerator in the corners), it is without a doubt very cool [8D] (don't try this at home kids lol)I didn't notice the M-01 chassis was front drive as well, the 'm' series looks more compact then the 'ff'?, how do they compare to drive?
2) You will tend to eat front tires when you hit the throttle hard, Also not a too hot motor will help, I would suggest something like a 19 turn. Stocking tires is not a bad idea, but I would buy a stickier set of tires whiule you are there. Standard touring car tires from various manufacturors will fit. id="blue">
Not too hot a motor, ok, is that because of wearing out tyres or because the drive train won't cope with too much power? I don't mind replacing tyres [
]Sorry about all the questions, just trying to get an idea of what i'm getting into [
]Thanks again

Hi all
After thinking about it for a while i've decided i need a road car to build my collection (got an E-Maxx so yes i'm new to Tamiya [
] ) and the Maxi 306 seems to be my choice (i own a real 306 GTI so i'm a fan of the car).I'm quite intrigued by the front drive chassis as i've never seen another manufacturer do anything similar. I'm aiming to do a similar effect to the black 306 in the gallery by 'symchrocnc'.
Anyways, i'm after some advice...
1) How do front drive RC's handle compared to regular rear drive?
2) Does anything wear out quickly, anything hard to get hold of i.e. should i be stocking up on spares of anything?
3) I'm not into competitive racing (more of a show off [
] ), any suggestions on making this thing brutal, i mean lot's of power for wheels spinning, handling etc. i've got a decent ESC and some radio gear so i figure ball races and a big motor are the way to go as usual? Thanks in advance

You guys must have read my mind, i was gonna ask if the ball dif worked well at limited slip as well, guess thats been answered.
UJ's and oil filled shocks added to my list.
Any recommended places for getting stuff in the UK, my local hobby store doesn't carry much RC stuff these days, i hate paying import duty when i have to use people like Tower.
Cheers
Jas.
