Been there, still there to some degree. Have a big drawer thing now but most is just mixed long and mixed short screws and very arbitrary, “that looks longish” kinda vibe. Got the nuts, locknuts, nylock, washers and spacers separated and the m2/3/2.5 sorted to their own as well.
Speeds up building a serious amount when it’s a bit more organised!!!-

So this thing has been sat in development badword for a while now and I must get on with it. Basically I'm trying to figure out what to do about sway bars. I seriously limited room for them and a lack of mounting points other than the front. If I use them then I need a seriously long and kinked bar, possibly slanted inward as well. My other option is to braze something onto the frame behind the wheels and work from there. The biggest hurdle is that i would like it to be fairly scale looking so no bent up piano wire etc.
Anyone have any suggestions to spark me on with this thing?

So a wee update on this thing. Got some Injora Mud Country copies on it, has made quite a difference but has introduced some rub on the back of the front arches so they'll get swapped out for something slightly smaller soon (probably go 1.55") as I don't wanna start dremelling the arches. Have also fitted some metal wipers, a push bar with some KC spots and stickered the back windows.
@alvinlwh was south recently and picked me up a 3S 2200mah lipo(cheers dude!) for a different project so tested it in this and its picked up the 45t motor to exactly the right speed and torque i want so I'll be grabbing more next chance i get. Took it to my local park this morning for a proper play and subsequent carnage, lost a wiper and K5 badge, broke a bonnet hinge mount and chipped the other corner from rolling the whole way down a big slope next to the slide but hey ho, gotta accept some damage sometimes. I did make some sliders from some 6mm brass tube, silver solder and M3 brass inserts but they need a few tweaks and painted before they go on.
Performance wise this thing is pretty fun, the leafs are breaking in more now thankfully and it's taking on most of what i'd expect from it. Only impending changes will be the body mounts, the screws are driving me mental! Its just not handy compared to other options so I'll likely do the grub screw mod. In time I'll get some Boom Racing ProBuild 1.55" and likely some Element Grabbers as they have a good look to them.

Is there any fat bits on the battery wires that may suggest a damaged cable? Is it a different set of cables for the charger on the “other side”?
@alvinlwh that’s a good shout on a dirty connection, that would definitely encourage weirdness.
A multi meter might be a sanity check that it’s not the charger itself.

On the iPhone it’s in the options on every photo and called markup. Extremely handy tool.

@Champ85 is right enough, fixed a few things over the years with that technique, nothing to lose and plenty to gain.
The only thing I’d add is scrape gently so as to keep the trace intact. I’ve gotten greedy before and gone all the way through on cheap boards, not sure of the quality of that one.

Missed opportunity for Associated. This was a day one for me to go under a Blackfoot body until I realised it was the CR12. They may have changed it and I’d like to be wrong but it’s a hard pass.
I might grab a set of the rims and tires for the parts bin if they aren’t too expensive though. -
Swap the body for a Hilux, add some scale 55 gallon barrels and an outboard and your ready for these kind of shenanigans!

@Mad Ax and @ChrisRx718 have summed this up very well.
Try take it up to Happy Valley, the Ring of Brodgar or Binscarth and see what you think then dude, the places you’ve been aren’t really going to let the truck shine, they are more Monster Truck territory I feel. They are too open with obstacles spaced around, fine for testing setups though.
If the truck rolls or gets dings and scratches, consider it detail opposed to damage echoing above comments, in time it will look more real once it’s been used a bit.
As for accessories, pick and choose wisely and you may manage to get a robust set that looks good and lasts some extremely harsh moments.
All of this may not be worded brilliantly as I’m getting my little dude ready for nursery

I’ve used BoltBase, Kay’s Fasteners and GWR for the majority of my stuff over the years. Also clearance/end of line stuff from model shops is another good source for weirder things like shoulder screws etc.
@Pablo68 I’ve bought m2.5 of those from eBay before so I’d bet there’ll be some on there or AliExpress.

This thing is meaty looking, the tires in the bumper is a great touch. Cracking build dude!

Watching that vid, I’m definitely sold on having one. Wasn’t really on the fence before it but I’m all in once I get the stable cleared and some “in progress” stuff done

If someone released a leaf sprung monster just now I think they would absolutely clean up. A Juggernaut 3 is overdue and would be a shrewd move. The retro racing scene is currently hugely popular in the states.
-
If you ever want a stronger saver than the Kimbrough there are some GPM alloy ones for about 12 quid on eBay, I’ve got 5 of them on various builds and they can be tuned by taking off the circle spring things.
Glad the part nums were a help, I couldn’t tell the difference in the springs either but found my truck settled better with them than the reds. A 6ft straight drop and the truck would bounce with the reds, it just plants with the whites.-

I find I’m always in a minority when I’m chuffed it’s snowing but it’s mainly because it’s hands down my favourite running surface for the Clod.
I will admit it’s an absolute curse for a lot of other aspects of life, one being trying to keep yer feet and hands warm. -
Hopefully there’ll be plenty for a day or two, hoping to get out again tomorrow!!
-
We finally have a decent amount to play in so dutifully got the Clod out

There are regularly crawler chevron type tyres, 97ish mm on eBay touted for the CC01 but not sure they would be wide enough or have the right vibe for what you’re doing. There maybe some for one of the WL Toys models somewhere or another 1/14 model.

A full re-re of the Juggernaut 2 and TXT-1 is all that’s needed, it’s not too much to ask, just a small thing!

I might have a set of them. I’ve a CC-01, WR-01 and a Wild Dagger sat in bits, I’m sure one has those on it, I’ll look when I get home.

Ah, Righto. Is there another models drive cups that are longer?
-
@alvinlwh would a shim between the bearing and axle work to push the shaft back toward the cup help any? It’d depend on what length is on the axle as it will shorted how much is there for the wheelnut. It’d certainly put more shaft toward the gearbox outdrive.

Bet that Polaris sells well initially but yeah it’s a bit odd.

Tamiya purchases through Amazon imports, bargain!
