  1. There's a setting in "system" for cut-off temp, but no display while charging ... for LiPo, that is. I've yet to charge my NiMH batteries. Say, what's that micro-USB plug for? Just says "PC Link" in the manual but there doesn't seem to be any software for it...
  2. Oh is the temp sensor only for NiMH batteries? That'll explain why it does nothing and there's no setting in the LiPo menus
  3. Africa Twin is popular with the gaijin biker groups here... Saw the model in the toy shop the other day, 1/4 scale. Big old box wasn't expensive either. I'm a KTM man myself
  4. Hmm, snooping around the hop up pages, there's an increasing number of items "out of stock", and the motor fan thingy, which was the only part not in stock since I started looking ... is still out.
  5. Oh what fun -- wet concrete and hardback sand/dirt! Had a blast today drifting around the trees and lampposts on the playground. So this ... truggy? is really good for sliding around on a hard but loose surface. Super fun, easy to drift and slide around. Doesn't have the suspension for jumps more than a foot or so, and while the oil kit helps stabilize the ride in general, it's still doesn't improve the jumping ability ... I can see myself getting an E-revo or Kraton in the future ... or maybe a Senton
  6. Put the oil kit into my Monster Tracker shocks, nice difference but got me thinking... What's the point of the preload-like adjuster on the top of the shocks? What use is toe in or camber? Especially on MT tires Wouldn't back wheels be better with negative (?) camber so when the car squats, the wheels are flat top the ground rather than even more on the inside edge? And... now the front shocks won't fully extend unless you lift the wheels off the ground... Too soft springs or did I do something wrong putting the oil in?
  7. It all cleaned/rubbed off fairly rapidly, even the button on my phone is 90% clean I have far more lasting amusement with epoxy The $1 store CA is a slightly smaller tube -- basically one use ... but then, isn't every tube of CA? The Tamiya tube was $3.80 so almost 4 times mark up -- not even trying How about a $40,000 beach towel? Often times it's EXACTLY the same product that costs like $20. I'm pretty sure there's some kind of money laundering scam going on...
  8. Got some actual Tamiya CA and that worked better. I forgot the joys of sticking all my fingers together, to the pieces, to the table. And the fingerprint scanner on my phone Took Juggular's advice and added some beef in there. We'll see
  9. ... anyone want my Infernos? Gyro?
  10. Yeah, the Faker Mk2 Rage was released only in late December last year: http://rc.kyosho.com/en/rccar/epoffroad/34411t1.html Domestic sales ... 10 years ago, my buddy and I went out for a bash with our nitro buggies and the next time I saw an RC car ($20 Toys R Us thingy) was the park just last week. There's a couple of little clubs for RC aircraft but it's old fellas flying. Kids here are literally in school from dawn to dusk, have mad school work to complete, and if they aren't doing that then they're banging away in school club activities that they'll just give up on when they finish school. If the kids actually live in a house, then there's no yard/garden and it's probably just big enough for the building and a carpark, and the local park will have strict rules about what is allowed -- and if it's not on the officially approved list, then it's banned. It's a poor outlook for out-of-doors hobbies Oh I tell a lie -- when we played roller hockey in the carpark at the river (also on the banned list) we used to see some 20-something guys with the drift RC cars...
  11. And the Shizuoka Model Fair too, in May, apparently. He also said there's no more "Kyosho Cup"... Shame, cos I just got their Monster Tracker
  12. Went to the new shop I discovered last week, hoping to get a battery case for my Inferno ... my Japanese isn't very good but I'm sure he said that Kyosho are closing up shop this year Quick look turns up this: https://goo.gl/VKjH2R but nothing more... This and the comments look a bit depressing too, if you're into Kyosho or are hoping to keep their cars running: http://vintage.dirt-burners.com/2018/06/13/the-future-of-kyosho-re-releases-in-doubt/
  13. "Do they care anything about markets outside Japan or not?" No
  14. Too much hardwork to figure that out in a second language and source a power supply The S60 didn't seen to have the clone/fake issue and AFAIR slightly better for much the same price... Although given the additional bits I've had to order--maybe not! Pretty impressed with how much battery and charging has improved over the years since I dabbled with the RC. Pretty much over the nitro now
  15. Could only find 7-plug one so didn't bother. I actually like my longer one better cos I can use the battery in the LiPO bag easily.
  16. You can buy cyanoacrylate at the $1 store. But actual brand name Plastiweld is some jackass importing it and sticking a ridiculous price on it. I have a little FB page called "Go home Amazon you're drunk" where, for my own amusement, I upload screen grabs and links of the most stupidly priced things I stumble across. $250 for glue is not even trying
  17. The charger is 5-pin, the battery of course 3 so it's a mix 'n match. It bothers me a lot less than cutting up plugs and things
  18. We can get some Selley's and there's similar stuff I found online here -- but they way like $250 a bottle for it I might see if I can find some in NZ when we're home this home...
  19. Metal fence, perfectly designed to let the front wheels and bumper under it and the body smash into it
  20. "send as gift" hasn't been an option from here for over a decade. Also can't have an unverified PayPal account. I've done international remittance a few times (which are just stupidly annoyingly ridiculous to do) and have to sign a whole separate document that I'm not sending the money to North Korea or Iran or that I'm not a person of public interest Sold and bought heaps of things through forums like this, and never had an issue (except for Parcel Farce) but the two times I've tried to sell things on eBay, I got messed with. Their "protection" was quite a joke...
  21. Jeez what a shenanigans. You can add JST-XH connectors to the list of plugs that I hate Stupid tiny little things that are just asking to be destroyed when you remove them, don't line up nicely and the males still have to be soldered so why are there crimpable male pins in the box?!?! And I had to go out and buy a new crimping tool in the middle of it all because my one was too thick cost per crimp so far -- $20 Got it done in the end, 5 to 3 pin, even used the right colored wires and didn't mix them up Used my new multimeter to test continuity, then plugged it into the charger, which read the different voltage and resistance in each cell ... so I guess it all works. So I learned that my soldering skills for tiny things is rusty, the octopus third hand is tricky to line up perfectly but otherwise very useful, and you can make yourself motion-sick using magnifying glasses trying to focus on the TV which is way out of the focal range
  22. Oh that's awesome. Project when we get back them
  23. Maybe if I can find 'em cheap. I don't mind an ugly finish, the trucks for beating on not looking pretty
  24. Forgot about the low voltage thing... I don't want to give up the ability to go from rev to fwd instantly
