  1. I tried the screw that came with my savox and it made 0 difference, would the aluminum saver help at all? I'll give the tape trick a shot when i tear the car down today Do you have a rally style tires you can recommend that would fit those turbofans i was looking at? I really wish someone made a convincing VW wheel, the scorcher has them, maybe i could use 2 sets of front wheels? EDIT Completely forgot they make a regular Beetle...lol
  2. Started on a hop up spiral...lol 20190115_235622 by David Ashe, on Flickr
  3. Again with the great work and stuff. Your leather work came out stellar! I'm wondering the same as yogi, is it a durability thing or aesthetics?
  4. And one more, will these fit, i love the color! https://www.amazon.com/hobbysoul-Aluminum-Alloy-Adjustable-Offset/dp/B07MQYWRYQ/ref=sr_1_44?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1547627412&sr=1-44&keywords=1%2F10+touring+car+wheels
  5. Minor set back adverted and suspension is underway 20190115_235622 by David Ashe, on Flickr Quick question, is there a way to remove all the slop in the steering servo horn cause its really wobbly... I've tightened the screw down flush but it still has a lot of slack. Can i add a washer (besides the spacer)?
  6. Well i jusr decided to stick what was left in the arm and it worked for now, Gonna add a couple small washers till i can get a replacement
  7. So i just got my YR kit in for my rally Beetle and one of the front arm flanged bushings was at first i thought missing, instead it was stuck on a screw with the flange part busted off. Now i don't want to pack the whole kit back up and return it to wait another 2-6 weeks for one piece. I was hoping someone had one or at worst i can use the broken tube part and add a washer for the "flange" Here is a intact one with some measurements: 20190116_002223 by David Ashe, on Flickr 20190116_002358 by David Ashe, on Flickr 20190116_002436 by David Ashe, on Flickr 20190116_002313_001 by David Ashe, on Flickr As you can imagine this has stopped me in my tracks, i know they make brass versions of these but im not sure the dimensions are right. These basically allow the screw to sit in the bearing. Only the front uses them. Any help would be appreciated. I may contact YR directly and see if i can get a set of them.
  8. Gonna be a fun week 2019-01-15_05-05-06 by David Ashe, on Flickr
  9. Following along! There is one local to me for sale for $90 bucks, missing the battery door cover. Do you think they are asking to much? Not sure if it has the box or anything but i love the look of it.
  10. Well that took way less time than expected: 2019-01-15_05-05-06 by David Ashe, on Flickr 2019-01-15_05-05-18 by David Ashe, on Flickr
  11. Anytime man, i may bother you in the future for a project i have in mind if that is alright?
  12. OK i just read through this post over the last 2 days and all i can say, from one modeler to another is , WOW. You have a incredible eye for detail and for scale reproduction. I have to commend you on a very long build...lol I am looking forward to the finish. Thank you Trini!
  13. Do you happen to have a pic of this setup? Also i hope you one day get to build one of the original 2
  14. Man you know a a lot about M chassis! Thanks again for the great info! It is funny how small the beetle is compared to say my Arrma Granite BLX . I think eventually i want to get into a on road chassis but i am not sure which one yet. For now you already know my game plan of learn on the MF then build the XV. Size difference both 1/10 the scale lol by David Ashe, on Flickr So in other news turns out the TRF shocks we ordered were iun fact for the XV so the rear shocks are held on currently by the original screws until i can locate longer ball ends OR wait for my YR kit and use the spacers provided there. @TurnipJF i forget did you install this kit on the MF and did you have to notch the gear cover inspection plate for the rear link to clear like Mateo? I am waiting on paint to be delivered then i will have both those shells started...lol Thanks!
  15. So shipping from Japan confuses me. Considering i live 20 mins from Springfield, MA...
  16. hmm lemme try here \\ Ok that worked but i had to delete some of the code after it. Not a big deal and much faster Thanks Kym!
  17. Following this as i love your OCD...lol Also i work at a vinyl shop so i can appreciate the use
  18. Yeah i am excited. For your second question the Beetle is actually 1/10th according to the box, but it does seem small. I will have too look into it. Could you by change measure one of the wheels for me with the tire?
  19. I contacted Chris about tc pics site so we will see, what i can't understand is why i cannot link my flickr pictures, none of my links work they all act broken or turn red in the media box... oh well here's hoping
  20. Hey all, Ok so a good chunk of you know i just got back into this after a very long break and i figured instead of having 500 threads about my different cars and questions i would consolidate and put them here. Now at the moment i only have 2 Tamiya vehicles (and 2 others that i use for serious bashing and reckless fun) a RE-RE Lunchbox and the MF01X Rally Beetle and they are both built BUT i am going to modify them AND i have another chassis coming soon i hope So here are the 2 i do have Lunch Plans for the lunch are underway and include: FX10 mod, larger shocks, MB wheels, AMPRO trans brace, rear shock relocator, upper braces, lights, and a undisclosed paintjob Beetle Plans for the beetle include: TRF Shocks (installed), HPI Turbofan wheels, different tires, yeah racing aluminum long travel suspension, 13.5t motor, steel pinion, new ESC, sealed bearings (installed) aluminum drive shaft, custom paint I am waiting for Chris to set me up with a TCphoto account because i cannot get my flickr to work...lol. Future project will hopefully be a XV-01 Lancia and a Sand Scorcher.
  21. Glad to see ya back at it! Nice seeing the MB rescued. Did you ever finish the CR01?
  22. Kev for the turnbuckles for the FX10 mod, how long does the threaded part need to be? I couldn't find any info. I will let yaa know about the brace, once i can actually drive this again...lol Oh do you have a link for the upper brace?
  23. Fitted the rear shocks to my lunchbox then realized i had bent one of the rear springs that hold tension to the front of the diff...lol i went and ordered the AMPRO trans brace. So i then fitted the TRF springs to my rally beetle only to find out we had ordered the ones for the XV-01 chassis and not the MF01X, they work but now i need to get some longer ball studs for the back until my YR suspension kit comes in AND this kit only comes with the white springs so no options out of the box. Will it be ok running the rears on the original screws till i get new ball ends or should i hold off?
  24. New digital caliper
