  1. Jon, when you say flatting back what does that mean exactly? I paint pretty well but you make me look like a amateur lol (to be fair my area is miniature painting and 1:24 scale military models)

  3. Man that is looking fantastic! I agree the side ones are a bit too big, throws off the scale to me.
  4. It came out gorgeous. I hope mine can come out even 1/3 as nice. I have to rebuild my whole front diff due to some odd warping on my chassis. Tamiya sent me the 2 halves, will give me a chance to install my aluminum servo mount and driveshaft once it arrives.
  5. Agreed those decals are a pint in the butt...lol I work with vinyl and i wont use them.

  7. Lunchbox update! So i ordered the brace and the lens kit from Ampro Engineering and i am impressed: Brace 20190123_113921 by David Ashe, on Flickr Rear shocks: 20190123_113210 by David Ashe, on Flickr And progress on the tail lights: Left side fitted with a dremel/file/xacto the plastic sun on the dremel bit and melted the trim a little Right side was done using my weller hot knife/file/xacto both methods are scary lol Right fitted I still have a lot of cleanup and such to do, but it's nice to know the toughest of them are done. Side markers are gonna be interesting shoutout to @graemevw who wanted to see progress pics

  11. Got mine built, haven't run it with the YR and trf shocks yet but noticed the rear shocks are rather stiff. I also had the issue with the rear turnbuckles hitting the wheel but realized i used the wrong spacers...lol OS that is all set and now i have touring car size wheels (1.9) so i should no issues with clearance Next up is the body
  12. I grew up drawing Calvin and Hobbs, this car makes me smile Did you hand paint the characters on first from then inside and then spray the yellow? Came out amazing!

  15. Thanks i am excited to see how it come out! Yes they are touring car rims, Tamiya ones. i have no tires yet so I am not sure how well it will work...lol , should be fine, i may have to move the body up a notch to clear the tires, i am gonna try the Tamiya rally blocks for the Jimny

  19. Kev Talbot owns a ebay RC store and makes over 1 mil a year doing it, hence why his shop and stash is so killer. He does love the hobby and has a lot of great info, even did a build of the RE-RE Manta Ray. He's super amped up but i guess i would be too if i got to play with RC's all day...lol
